  1. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Apr 9, 2006 -> 03:28 PM) Well we're undefeated on Sundays! Great outing by Buehrle, and nice offensive contributions by Crede and Thome! WE WON! OH YEAH THE WHITE SOX WON 3-1! THAT WILL SHOW THOSE ROYAL FANS THAT WE'RE NOT OVERRATED! WE ARE BACK IN BUSINESS! BUERHLE BROUGHT HIS A GAME TO THE MOUND! JOE CREDE AND HIS WONDERFUL DEFENSIVE PLAYS WAS TREMENDOUS! ALSO WE HAVE TO HAND IT TO JERMAINE DYE AND A COUPLE OF HIS PLAYS AT RIGHT FIELD! BUT THE ONE THING THAT COUNTS THE MOST IS PITCHING! SO GIVE IT TO BUERHLE FOR A JOB WELL DONE! GO WHITE SOX!
  2. QUOTE(beck72 @ Apr 9, 2006 -> 07:28 AM) Welcome to sox talk I'm not panicking and the Sox players aren't either. I was just trying to point out that players held that "us against the world" edge last year. I'd expect something similar this year as the players stick together pretty well. The chanting should show the players very clearly that the 2006 season will be the sox vs, the baseball world. The rest of MLB is out to get the sox--even the perennial cellar dwellars. Beating the world champs can give their fans a reason to cheer and get bragging rights. the sox can certainly expect more of this as the year goes on. Thanks for Welcoming to Sox Talk love to be a member of Sox Talk! I agree with you that the White Sox need to get there act together because I really would hate if we have to hear ignorant fans saying things like "we beat the world champs!" Especially like Kansas City fans who can't even afford players like Johnny Damon who now plays for the New York Yankees. But I do hope that the sox start to get their act together as soon as possible before it is too late!
  3. I agree with you, but we need to be patient for one more week. It is just the beginning of the season and everyone needs to shake off from spring training. If they don't shape up then it's time to say oh boy. But in my opinion I think we did better than any other night so far look Javier Vazquez pitched great yesterday at least we know that we have on decent starter, but when Cliff Polite came in he had to give up a home run to Mike Sweeney! Also it appears yesterday that the wind was kind of strong yesterday because a couple of the balls that Crede hit looked like they wanted to go out the field to be a home run, but the wind push that ball back in.
  4. QUOTE(hi8is @ Apr 3, 2006 -> 10:50 PM) this thread will be used to track the preformance of former players who helped get the sox to a WS title last year. April 3rd: Rowand went 2 for 3 with a double Marte gave up the lead and got his first BS the big hurt, frank thomas is currently 1 for 2 in his first start for oakland. in his first at bat, he homered. everett went 1 for 4 with a single vizciano pitched 2 scoreless innings with 2 Ks lets add as these stats continue to roll in, add more i missed today. I saw the A's game on Monday night when they were playing against the Yankees. My reaction to see Frank's homer was happiness for him, but then a sudden feeling of missing him feeled my heart. I remember watching games where Frank always worked the pitcher on a full count. Gosh would Frank always knew how to make great contact with the ball. Well I wish Frank Thomas the best of luck in Oakland.
  5. QUOTE(pale_hose @ Apr 6, 2006 -> 12:44 PM) I read in a post yesterday that someone wrote "Fire Ozzie!". I hope he was joking. What has Ozzie done to make us want him fired? Maybe he shouldn't ahve put Boone in yesterday, but who knows. That was the worst pitch he made in a month said AJ. So we've lost 2 straight and Im still not worried. Espn writers say we're already in trouble...Screw 'em. Anywho Sox Fans, don't worry, we're still a good team. Two days of not pitching well or hitting well wont hurt us. Hell, we're world champs... I totally agree with you because if you look at the Yankees they always start off the season on a bad note. But then as the season continues they become the dominating team in their division. You know the Yankees are a great team despite their high pay roll. So it is just the beginning of the season and of course some people might be a little rusty than others but in the middle of the season they are good as new.
