QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 28, 2006 -> 08:13 PM) So he leaves in Garcia to face a lefty to start this inning? Will someone please explain this to me? Latino-brother syndrome. -

QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Jul 28, 2006 -> 08:02 PM) Honestly, I've got more faith in Gload right now than Konerko./ How? How can you say that? Gload rarely takes a walk, something Paulie can atleast do when he is struggling. Gload is not a very good hitter. -

QUOTE(iguchi=dank @ Jul 28, 2006 -> 07:58 PM) Rally Gload...??? FWIW, Ross Gload's ISOD is a mere .006. I would guess it is probably one of the lowest in the entire league. So his .284 BA is VERY, VERY misleading. -

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jul 28, 2006 -> 07:54 PM) No, it would be completely assinine which is exactly what I said. There is no such thing as taking a bunch of soon to be ready prospects and staying competitive. Its one thing if you retool and move a couple guys for new pieces or different pieces that are quality, its another when you move guys like Dye/Thome/Konerko/Count/Garland. If we want to retool, we do it in the off-season, not now. If you guys want to see the fan base completely disappear than you can go ahead and deal Buehrle/Vaz/Garcia for prospects and see this organization fail to win for another 80 years. Got ya. I understand, and agree. -

QUOTE(iguchi=dank @ Jul 28, 2006 -> 07:49 PM) god uribe and BA just do something miraculous here and turn our frowns upside down Uribe is flat out awful. I don't care if he goes on another hot streak and his 50 RBIs over the next 30 games, I want consistency. And he seems to let his plate struggles affect him in the field, which is another huge downside to the kid. SS should be the top of the list in offseason acquisitions for K-Dubb, assuming he doesn't trade off a SP. -

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jul 28, 2006 -> 07:47 PM) He's had a major effect on guys like Dye and Crede while AJ has went away from his pull hitting ways of the past two years (Which is a major plus). However, by himself I do think Jim Thome is over-rated just a bit. I realize his stats say one thing but he's too much of a pure slugger for my liking and if this team doesn't do things well, I wouldn't be opposed to moving him for a more all around player (and yes I'm talking about getting a superstar type player in return, not just some decent guy, even if it meant we threw in a few prospects). That wasn't the question though, it was whether we would accept a White Flag trade, AKA trading our superstars for loads of soon-to-be-ready prospects? -

QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Jul 28, 2006 -> 07:43 PM) The guy is 100 yrs old. How man more quality years do you think he has left? It has nothing to do with his age, I just love seeing Thome. I really don't want to deal with losing another one of my favorite players, again. spiff, I cried during Favre's last game last year, and he didn't even end up retiring. -

QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jul 28, 2006 -> 07:40 PM) I'll ask again since nobody answered before. If we get crushed this weekend, would you be angry at KW for having a white flag trade? As long as it doesn't involve Thome. I almost cried when we lost A-Row, and then I fell in love with Thome. He is one of my heroes right now, along with AJ Hawk and Conan O'Brien. Please, just keep Thome. But I have a feeling he could trade Thome and acquire the Truth as the new DH... oh god, I'm going to go vomit. -

Am I the only one really concerned with Konerko's open stance? He's pulling the ball way too much, and I think its because of his open front foot. I think he could have a much better chance of getting to the balls and just poking them into right if he would just even up his feet. I mean, thats what the little league coaches would always tell us if we were slumping, that our stance was messed. Maybe its just me. -

QUOTE(CWSOX45 @ Jul 28, 2006 -> 07:09 PM) Dick, exactly it doesn't make any sense at all. I've stopped trying to figure it out.... It's beyond unbelievable that he isnt in there, it truely is. Is KW so worried about an injury coming in the next two months? Does he not understand that Vazquez and Garcia just plain suck? McCarthy has no defined role on this team. They don't use him in Long Relief, because Ozzie leaves the starters out there, no matter how hard they get rocked. -

Man, wouldn't it be nice to pitch over an error? I hope Uribe is benched, but who do we start over him? Cintron is terrible, and I don't think Pablo is good at SS either. Make a move K-Dubb! -

QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jul 28, 2006 -> 06:53 PM) We have to be setting a record for most times in a season leaving the bases juiced. Robertson, I believe. I think the Gambler shut us down. Thats right, it was Robertson. -

Man, no one is even getting ANY good swings on the ball. Everyone is under it, causing an insane number of popups. And then we look at perfect pitches right over the heart of the plate. Come on, lets get something started. -

QUOTE(CWSOX45 @ Jul 28, 2006 -> 06:32 PM) Memo to Kenny: Get Soriano...he'd add a spark to this offense. I've seen enough. (That and I'm tired of seeing Pods and Pablo, at least Soriano A: Is a great bat, B: Has a better arm than both) Get it done Ken. Pretty sure this has been put to rest, no? I thought Kenny said he dropped out of the race, if he was really ever in it in the first place. I personally, really want a SS over a LF. But LF is a close second. -

QUOTE(Controlled Chaos @ Jul 21, 2006 -> 12:27 PM) Bump. First post in this thread still holds true!! Don't turn your back Sox fans. I think when people do things like that, it just shows how much of a fan they are. Let's put it this way: would you rather have a fan that stops following the team and ignores all the bad when they are sucking? Or would you rather have a fan that can't get the team out of his head, good or bad, and might decide to get emotional when the team is sucking? I prefer the latter, because it shows that the person really cares for the team. We all are guilty every now and then of doing just that, but I think it just reaffirms our love for the team. Maybe you think I'm wrong, but thats just the way I feel.
