    Zito?

    QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Jul 30, 2006 -> 04:56 PM) That's not even getting into the park factor. I feel safe when I say Zito's era would be well over 4 pitching at the Cell. Agreed, his stats would be worse at the cell. If we are going to trade for a SP, it HAS to be a top-of-the-line pitcher. Thats the only way I'd be happy trading for one. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 30, 2006 -> 04:58 PM) Zito since the start of the 2003 season: 127 GS | 50 W 43 L | 3.82 ERA | 1.27 WHIP | K/9 6.4 | BB/9 3.6 | K/BB 1.81 He has had a plus 100 ERA+ though. 129 in 2003, 105 in 2004, and 116 in 2005. Basically, he has been very average since 2004, and slightly-above-aveage in 2003.
  2. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 30, 2006 -> 04:44 PM) You say Brian isn't a problem, but you say Uribe doesn't belong on a playoff caliber team? WOW! Yes, very much so. There is room for one bad player. Especially a rookie. Stats from Uribe like he is putting up are just completely unacceptable. If we had a decent, hell, even someone like .265/.340/.450 at short, we'd be a lot better. BA has also more than made up for his lack of offense to start the year on defense.
  3. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 30, 2006 -> 04:30 PM) Man, have our expectations to have a championship caliber team gone down. How so? I don't feel Brian is the problem. It's Pods. He's terrible, and doesn't belong on a playoff caliber team. Neither does Juan Uribe.
  4. QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Jul 30, 2006 -> 04:17 PM) Fixed. Thanks.
  5. I would not do this deal, unless BA or Jones were going to be playing left. Our CF is fine, its the LF that is the problem.
  6. When are Ozzie and Kenny going to understand that Javy just shouldn't be pitching in the rotation? Everyday, I feel our playoff chances slipping away. We could have easily been swept this series by the horrible O's team. We got a lucky (?) comeback win Friday, we got a lucky 13 runs out of the offense Saturday, and we lost today. This could have been game 6 of a 6 game losing streak.
  7. QUOTE(Reddy @ Jul 30, 2006 -> 11:27 AM) no... no he wouldnt be slammed... he'd be applauded... Cha-ching!
  8. QUOTE(Sonik22 @ Jul 30, 2006 -> 11:08 AM) Javy keep it going! I'm 2-0 with goldys jose contreras wallpaper as my background! We're also 2-0 since I've gotten unbanned... not saying anything, but I'm just saying... You need me.
  9. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jul 30, 2006 -> 12:57 AM) Abreu to the Yanks ESPN believes; :P I like the shot at Joe Torre at the end of the article
  10. QUOTE(knightni @ Jul 30, 2006 -> 12:36 AM) I know Paulie's been hurt... But, Gload has certainly been looking deserving of a starting 1b job on an MLB non-contender of late. Perhaps he'd be part of a trade for a cf or rp before the deadline. Its funny that you name two of the most set positions, CF and RP, IMO. Brian is not going anywhere. We need a LF or SS, I think. Brian ANderson is here, for the present, and the future.
  11. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Jul 29, 2006 -> 08:31 PM) If I see another outing where 5 Inning Javy pitches a gem for the first 2 times through the lineup and then craps his pants, I will vomit all over the TV. If it happens, I am going to seriously consider hating Ozzie. He's on the fence for me right now, but I still like the guy. Even if Javy has 80 pitches and no hits through 5... I'd consider taking him out.
  12. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Jul 29, 2006 -> 07:32 PM) 8 IP, 5 H, 0 ER, 1 BB, 9 K's for Javy tomorrow. I think theres a greater chance of Konerko stealing five bags than of that happening.
  13. QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Jul 29, 2006 -> 02:41 PM) Uribe's not the greatest shortstop out there but Soriano made a lot of errors at 2nd base, I couldn't imagine how many he'd make at shortshop. I was in NO WAY saying I would want Soriano at SS.
  14. QUOTE(Jimbo @ Jul 29, 2006 -> 07:28 PM) Im 2-0 in my last 2 days of gamethreads....cmon ill take it all on my back. Hit Chen and get Javy out after 5!!!! Chances of Javy being out after 5? None. He will be out there in the 6th, barring a not-so-unforseen explosion in innings 1-5.
  15. I feel bad for the offense. They FINALLY light something up, and they still can't breathe. God DAMN our pitching is in the spiffter right now, worst in the entire league. 13 runs and we squeek out with a win. fishing christ.
  16. Haha, Bobby going for the completion. Doesn't want to be the only pitcher to not give up a run!
  17. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jul 29, 2006 -> 07:01 PM) Yeah - this is all KW's fault... Not saying so at all, I'm just saying I'm think we need a major move, fast. This team is slipping away faster than even last year's team.
  18. Lol, glad to know every single reliever has given up a run tonight. So glad KW is done making moves! THIS TEAM IS SET!
  19. QUOTE($I Need Money$ @ Jul 29, 2006 -> 06:40 PM) i was exaggerating. I know, but I thought I'd look it up and post the real number anyways.
  20. QUOTE($I Need Money$ @ Jul 29, 2006 -> 06:39 PM) thome walks for the 1,000 time hit a triple jermaine! Actually, it was walk #1322 for Big Jim.
  21. QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Jul 29, 2006 -> 06:31 PM) Royals pitching >>>>> Sox pitching Fixed.
