  1. Here's a link to a gallery on mlb.com. There's a pretty good closeup of Buehrle wearing the hat in there. I couldn't figure out how to save the image directly. Sorry.
  2. The hats were brown, with a dark brown logo. I didn't see any at the park, but they have them at Grandstand.
  3. I talked to two vets about this, and both had interesting responses. My roommate was over in the Middle East a few years back, and he saw the festivities as being a bit overblown, even borderline propoganda. I think he's kind of tired of stuff like this. My uncle, who fought in Vietnam, did not like the promotion at all. While he realizes that their intentions were good, he has come to associate camouflage with some very bad things. He doesn't think that camouflage should be used fashionably. I can see both of their points, and I wonder how many servicemen feel the same way.
  4. I was told that they'll be wearing the Stars & Stripes cap tonight. Blue and red should look awesome with brown camo.
  5. QUOTE (WhiteSoxfan1986 @ Apr 28, 2008 -> 08:56 PM) It's a new rule they put in last year. And it's a horrible rule. Really? I thought it had always been this way. How did they do it before?
  6. QUOTE(joeynach @ Mar 31, 2008 -> 03:16 PM) The image comcast has lacks enough definition to be HD, it looks like 480P with artificial digital enhancements and is then coined the term HD. I don't think they can call this HD. They made a big deal about road games finally being in HD this year, but this is exactly how it looked last year. My hope is that this is a weird exception, and the rest of the season will be true HD.
  7. That is definitely not HD. Who knows what is was scaled down to before being scaled back up to HD, but the artifacting is incredibly terrible. I don't think they could've put more edge enhancement on there if they tried. What century are we living in? I thought it was the 21st.
  8. I'm pretty sure that the HD WGN Superstation is in the works. I remember reading this on an A/V forum, because my response was, "You don't know how happy it makes me that the rest of the country will finally get to experience Sox games in HD." I know a lot of providers are adding lots and lots of HD channels. So if it's not available now, or even in the planning stages, I'd be surprised if it didn't happen before long.
  9. QUOTE(Steff @ Sep 11, 2007 -> 01:43 AM) Also per his bio, whitesox.com, and numerous other googled sites, he never wore #23 in a Sox uniform. It seems that the white pinstriped #23 uniform was worn during some sort of celebrity home run derby.
  10. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Sep 10, 2007 -> 08:27 PM) Jordan never played a "real" game for the White Sox so the white pin striped jersey you see is likely the Birmingham Barons' home uni. He played 127 games for them in 1994. That's possible, but the number on the jersey is 23. QUOTE(Leonard Zelig @ Sep 10, 2007 -> 08:48 PM) Didn't he play in the Crosstown Classic game that year? Yes, and it looks like they wore their black jerseys for that game. Am I right in assuming that any spring training games would have been played with BP jerseys? Thanks again.
  11. Hello, Someone I know was asking about which Sox uniforms Michael Jordan wore, and the numbers he used for those uniforms. I've seen pictures of him in the batting practice jersey and the black alternate jersey with #45, presumably during his spring training stint and what appears to be a Sox/Cubs exhibition game. I've also seen pictures of him in the red BP jersey with #23 from the late '80s/early '90s, which I remember him taking batting practice in one time. But I've also seen a picture of him in the white pinstriped jersey with #23. When would this have been? Also, during his "career," was there ever an occasion for him to have worn any other uniforms, maybe in exhibition games or whatever? Thanks, Mike
  12. Do you think they'll be selling those caps at Grandstand or something?
  13. QUOTE(black jack @ Apr 26, 2007 -> 10:17 PM) BTW- how come only the home games are in HD? Does comcast not travel with the hd cameras? I could be wrong on this, but from what I undersand, it has something to do with not being able to get the necessary amount of bandwidth in other parts of the country. But they do use the HD cameras. That's why the Comcast games are in 16:9, and also why the games at Wrigley are in HD.
  14. Thanks Jim. '77 Hitmen, huh? That would be appropriate.
  15. Here's a simple question: Will the Sox be wearing throwback uniforms for 70's Night on 5/25? If so, which ones? Also, does anyone else find it fitting that 70's Night will be held on the 30th anniversary of the release of STAR WARS, which is quite possibly the quintessential 70's movie? Thanks.
  16. That's also definitely not authentic, despite the description.
  17. I'd like to see Buehrle, Jenks, Pierzynski, Konerko, and Crede.
  18. Just out of curiosity, aren't they supposed to be wearing their 1906 uniforms today?
  19. QUOTE(LVSoxFan @ Apr 13, 2006 -> 03:41 PM) You are so right that during a couple of those SCORCHING games last summer (e.g., the Cubs series at the cell), I remember that they wore their black jerseys. And I remember thinking they must be roasting their ASSES off in those. Hello, On the official website, they're selling something called "Cool Base" jerseys, which apparently will be worn by players this year during super-hot games. The only one they have on the website is black. I remember reading that the team was mad at Garcia for choosing the black jerseys for that game against the Cubs, but he had performed we'll in it before or something, so he thought it was good luck. :headshake
