  1. God, that list is depressing. The only one I could think of right offhand, was Albert Belle, but then I remembered that wasn't even in the 2000s. Gracious, what a sad sack of a front office.
  2. And I say this, moreso in reference to the 'pennies on the dollar' type FA signings this front office goes for, instead of legitimate front line A tier players.
  3. I'm sure it is just recency bias and all, but can you name a FA signing in the last 25 years, that was a 3+ year signing that didn't fail miserably in Chicago? Sure feels like they are rarer than a unicorn.
  4. 2-8, 5.45 ERA for prized player Michael Kopech.
  5. And........boom goes the dynamite. 4-1 into the 7th, BTW. I can't wait until Eloy and Kopech are playing in ..........well, anywhere else.
  6. Mental Midget doesn't begin to cover it. Wait, can we still say that? Mental 'short person'.
  7. Oh, couldn't set this one up any better.
  8. What a heckuva bullpen this team has.
  9. Lenyn Sosa, your soon to be team leader in BA.
  10. And yeah, that is what I get for assumption on the MILB stats, assuming PA was the first stat. So 78 K's in 184 PAs. That is still WELL over 200 K's in a normal season, in Rookie/A ball. That'd be new MLB record-esque against better competition. Hopefully he continues to improve, he clearly is trending up lately. I also feel pretty safe in saying his absurd .529 BABIP won't be a normal thing, either.
  11. I definitely think he is improving, but lets not sit here and get all googly eyed at the power, without at least admitting that there is still a LOT of work to be done on the free swinging.
  12. I mean.....78 K's in 158 ABs. You're right, he isn't striking out 50% of the time, it is only 49.4%. And no, it hasn't gotten better in A ball, it has gotten worse.
  13. Lenyn Sosa currently with the 2nd highest BA on the team. And to think, some wanted him jettisoned off forever, because he hadn't taken advantage of his whopping career 200 ABs coming into 2024.
  14. OK brother...if you give up RBI hits to BOTH Maldonado AND Benintendi, go ahead and announce your retirement.
  15. Maldonado delivers on his 11th hit of the season. It is July 3rd....
