Cubs claim Podsednik; Pods still here (for now)
QUOTE(whitesox1976 @ Aug 10, 2007 -> 09:52 PM) The Cubs picked up him. Why did it have to be the Cubs of all teams. They are the only team desperate enough to try Mr. Glass at this point. Needs must!

Axe Shower Gel, Kilo is the 'flavor' I use. I hate regular soap, and have been using this stuff since its release.

If we offer arb. to Pods, he is gonna return....thats not a choice I'm looking forward to. Hopefully KW can take advantage of a serious Cub need right now, and get something half decent in return, whatever level of the minors our return player(s) is/are from.

Oh...so torn!! I would be the first person to help pack up Pods stuff if it meant he was traded, but then...what do I do with my avatar and nickname? Retire them and be sad!

And that's a White Sox Winner!
With the exception of the 48 year old Contreras, I LOVE our starters. They go out there everyday and give us a shot to win. Yes, they all have those bad games like Garland's last pile of poo, but even still, I like the position they put us into.

White Sox vs. Yankees, 8/01/07 (L)
I don't have a problem with Danks going through growing pains in his first full year with us....because, in theory, we had 4 other guys that were dependable. What we actually have is 3 guys who are very dependable, sometimes even dominant, 1 guy who is going through growing pains that should be expected, and one s***storm of an excuse for a starting pitcher, who could be 40+ years old easy, AND is signed for 2 more years.

QUOTE(kwolf68 @ Jul 31, 2007 -> 10:06 PM) Gavin Floyd needs to be sent back down to Charlotte, pad some stats, so we can then dump him off on some poor schlump in the off-season. Sorry, that already happened. See:Ken Williams And did I actually see someone cheer for Bonds' "accomplisments"?!? Are you s***ting me?

QUOTE(Rex Kicka** @ Jul 31, 2007 -> 12:49 PM) I've grown to grudgingly respect Pearl Jam. I just felt that Eddie Vedder was so grating and the perceived '"social importance" of Jeremy in my high school really got on my nerves. Couple that with Vedder's poor man's Neil Young impression was getting super annoying. However, since No Code, I've started to respect them actually. Something that kind of scared me. Almost as much as when I discovered I actually liked Hole's Celebrity Skin album. Oh god Rex...I thought I was the only one that liked Celebrity Skin...

Darin Erstad
QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jul 31, 2007 -> 12:43 PM) June: .218 .274 .333 .607 July: .277 .346 .511 .857 Hopefully, that's a sign he's learning and improving with time. Nope sorry, incorrect. Erstad brings more when he is healthy.

I am one of the few that though PJ matured with age I guess. With the exception of Riot Act(no thanks to political rock, kthx), I've enjoyed every release from PJ. I REALLY liked Binaural. Last time I saw PJ was the Yield tour, still sounded just right to me in concert. As for Interpol, I can understand the 'really like them or really hate them' aspect, its a monotonous voice(did I spell that right? no idea), but I enjoy hearing it. I've only listened to the new CD a few times, but parts of it are growing on me. Me being the huge Cornell fan I am, I'm still wearing "Carry On" out daily.

Darin Erstad
QUOTE(jasonxctf @ Jul 31, 2007 -> 12:19 PM) In Darin's defense, when it counted, he hit .264 in 48 Games. Also stole 7 bases. That's more than I can say about some other current roster players. (Fields, Podsednik, Owens, Dye, Cintron, Gonzalez, Terrero, Uribe and Hall) Not saying that he is the greatest in the world, but when healthy (big when) he's better than 1/2 the team. So you are saying that grindErstad is more help to this team than Josh Fields, assuming both are healthy? Wow.
-
Darin Erstad
no no no!! I dubbed Prancer Mr. Glass last year, so grindErstad needs something else.

You guys know that the whole idea was to let other people start Gamethreads once you start one and we lose, right? Thats what that whole pinned and closed thread by me was for. Granted, I know we are brutal this year, but still, let some other folks have their shot at it.
