  1. Mixed in with some homers who love to pretend everything is just great, regardless of all evidence.
  2. I think you're right. And he'll end up having throwin 125+ pitches for the night and his fastball will be even slower in his next start.
  3. I'll take that bet. I think they'll stick with him for even more of this futility.
  4. Hitting at will and running at will tonight. So far it doesn't look like we're going to beat these guys tonight.
  5. I won't get into a long debate about this here, but I think the significantly worse performances of two starting pitchers and the vast majority of the bullpen hurts the team a lot more than the moderate dropoff of the 8-9 hitters.
  6. You don't think the poor bullpen and to a lesser extent rotation isn't the biggest difference from last year?
  7. Nice work, scarface! Now the question is can the Sox out-hit Freddy's pitching.
  8. I thought batting practice ended more than an hour ago?
  9. Nice going Freddy. Looks like we'll see lots of bullpen tonight.
  10. Hawk is a tease. He had me believing that one was going to be gone.
  11. Any time Garcia gets it over 86 mph, he's overthrowing and can't come particularly close to the strike zone.
  12. 84? Don't cheat him. He's hitting 86 routinely. (not good)
  13. Me neither. Thome has made this team better, even with the loss of Rowand. The offense wasn't particularly good last year and it is good this year, significantly because of the addition of Thome. This team is slumping because of a poor bullpen and inconsistent starting pitching. Even though the offense is improved, they aren't going to average 6 runs per game. The offense won't usually be able to pick up the pitching. This team lives and dies (as it did last year) on pitching. If half of the rotation and most of the bullpen struggles over a stretch of games, then we're going to lose more games than we win over that stretch. The only question is whether these pitching problems are a short-term slump or signs of a more serious problem for the season.
  14. Anderson can't hit worth s***. Mackowiak can't field worth s***. Between them we have a CF platoon that plays like s***. While this isn't the biggest problem on this team, the people who pretend that everything is fine (or acceptable) in CF are whistling through the graveyard.
  15. This guy is not my favorite White Sox pitcher.
  16. I'll call him Jon as soon as he gets is ERA under 5. So far, he's earned the name Judy.
  17. It's nice to see Judy have a good 1-2-3 first inning.
  18. I hope he plays in THIS series. We need to stop the bleeding.
  19. I hope he untweaks it quick. Considering the trajectory of this team, this isn't a good time to be without our best hitter.
  20. I'm sorry if this has already been discussed, but I see that Thome isn't in the lineup. Is he just getting the night off, or is there an injury? Thanks
  21. Ozzie is obviously a good manager, but he does have some failings. One of them is his Pablo Ozuna fetish. He has little OF experience and has been awful in LF this season, and now Ozzie is going to put him in CF??? That's one of those Ozzie decisions that absolutely boggles the mind. Ozuna can't read a fly ball to save his life and now he's got 50% more ground to cover. I know Podsednik is not exactly a GG caliber OFer, but he'd be a hell of a lot better CFer than Ozuna. Ozzie said he didn't want to move Podsednik to CF because he hasn't played CF since he came to the Sox. Well, where has Ozuna been playing since he came to the Sox. This makes no sense. Hopefully Ozuna won't have many chances.
