QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 9, 2014 -> 07:34 PM) So you have nothing to say but negative stuff. Sweet. About our manager? I say what's deserved.

QUOTE (SCCWS @ Jul 9, 2014 -> 07:32 PM) Last time Sale faced Boston, Robin left Sale in too long and he ended up on DL. This time everyone complains he pulled him too early. But he was over his average number of pitches for the season so I have no problem w pulling him. Sale's arm is more important than a single game. As far as choices in the BP, they all are mediocre. We traded our closer and went into the season hoping to find one. They still haven't so there will be more late game collapses. On the positive side, Gillaspie and Abreu are having great series. Now the Sox have to beat Lester to take the series. Should be a good match up w Q. This is ultimately true, I admit. I'm just tired of watching this buffoon getting in the way of what could be a fun young team.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 9, 2014 -> 07:31 PM) 86 and humid at the start. Stone said on the postgame it was hot and humid. He was there. I think it is a good source. Oh, well then if Stone defies actual weather data, then by all means, never mind.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 9, 2014 -> 07:30 PM) He also doesn't post in any winners threads. So no credit when we win but non stop b****ing when we lose. Shocker. Because our manager does a lot more to f*** this team up then he does to help them win. Let's stop pretending he's Greg Poppovich.
-
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 9, 2014 -> 07:28 PM) It's called rational thoughts. Not the irrational bulls*** spewed in these threads. I hope the last two winners threads were full of full credit to the entire coaching staff. I'm sorry, I give Robin very little credit for "allowing" Chris to dominate. However, when he inexplicably gets I. The way of that, then yes, I'm going to blame him.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 9, 2014 -> 07:27 PM) Hot humid night. 107 pitches thrown, 4 run lead, need 4 outs. Sale has faced the Pedroia 3 times...... It's 78 degrees
-
QUOTE (Jake @ Jul 9, 2014 -> 07:20 PM) So, how many runs was the early removal of Sale worth? Would we have won 4-0? Can you justify that? It looks like we didn't have a prayer of making 3 outs before 5 runs scored Yeah, if he gives up a hit to Pedroia, you leave him in for one more batter...Ortiz if he comes to the plate.
-
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 9, 2014 -> 07:21 PM) Yes you would have. Look at your post. He is wrong no matter what he does. Too many moves, bad. Not enough moves, bad. Guess what, this team isn't going anywhere and either is Robin. Might as well get another hobby if it makes you that angry. Go hit some balls instead, much better stress reliever. Maybe you should stop defending ignorance unconditionally.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 9, 2014 -> 07:17 PM) Funny there was only one post disagreeing with yanking Sale before the bullpen failed. Then the experts came out. Yeah, because I was relaxing on my couch enjoying a great pitcher do his thing when the jackass decided he wanted to make things "interesting." Look, Robin gets no credit for "allowing" Chris to dominate. All we ask of him is to leave him in while he gets outs, or take him out when he stops getting outs. That doesn't require any expertise whatsoever.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 9, 2014 -> 07:15 PM) Common sense tonight, easy. Bullpen has a job to do, fails. On good teams, they don't. Managers for good teams are beloved. Managers for bad teams are blamed for players not doing their jobs. Common sense. No, that's a lack of any sense at all. If that's your argument, yank Chris after the guy reaches base. Don't let him retire the next two guys easily and then yank him inexplicably.
-
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 9, 2014 -> 07:11 PM) Even if he waited until the 9th to insert Pericka, why don't you look at how they performed. They still would have lost, and people would have b****ed about Sale throwing 120 pitches. I certainly would not have. This isn't rocket science, folks. He either horribly over manages or he pretends like he's asleep at the wheel. Pull a starter when he's no longer effective. Leave him in so long as he is. Don't bring in Eric Surkamp in to face Cano just because he's a lefty. Don't take out an effective Chris Sale to bring in a new pitcher against Pedroia just because he's a righty, especially with Papi looming.
-
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 9, 2014 -> 07:12 PM) Hahahaha. It's called common sense. But you guys keep changing the target game after game on what he does wrong. Left sale in too long. Put Putnam in instead of Jake and we lose, today asking why not Putnam. It's hilariously laughable. Want to know what lost the game? A terrible s***ty bullpen. Explain the common sense to the move tonight. I'd love to hear it.
-
QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jul 9, 2014 -> 07:12 PM) I wanted Sale to face one more batter. Was shaking my head when he was taken out, but Petricka should have did his job. Thank you. This is all I'm saying.
-
QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Jul 9, 2014 -> 07:11 PM) Every time Sale pitches in the 9th someone starts a whole thread about how Ventura should be fired for running his pitch counts up. When have we ever worried more about pitch counts than effectiveness? How many times do I have to explain this to you? This is like the 3-4th time, honestly.
-
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 9, 2014 -> 07:10 PM) Lol. The guy everyone was clamoring for was put in and immediately gave up most of the lead. But yeah. It's the manager. Who the f*** was hoping we'd pull Sale there?
-
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 9, 2014 -> 07:09 PM) And when Sale gives up a diner after being on auto pilot you say the same s***. Give it up. Again, Chris gave up 4 hits all game. Against the Angels, he'd given up more than that to the last 6 batters prior to facing Trout.
-
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 9, 2014 -> 07:07 PM) Lol. Who should be in? What pitcher? I'd have preferred to start the 9th up 4-0. You guys with the Robin Ventura posters on your ceilings can defend him all you want, but you'd also defend anything he did. He compounds this bulls*** with these non-sensical moves. But keep pretending like the s*** he does makes sense.
-
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 9, 2014 -> 07:05 PM) So you completely understand in the 9th but not with 2 out in the 8th with a 4 run lead. LMAO. Hindsight is a beautiful thing. Yes, Dick. Is it customary to yank dominant starters in the middle of innings when they've got it on autopilot? Or is it more customary to bring in a reliever to begin an inning?
-
Thank you, Robin. This team isn't worth cheering for with this manager at the helm.
-
QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Jul 9, 2014 -> 07:03 PM) The fact that he gives up the least amount of hard hit balls in baseball says you couldn't be more wrong. Joe, go jerk off
-
QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jul 9, 2014 -> 06:58 PM) Two hard hit balls in the 7th. Man, you really must f***in hate Robin, good god. Hard hit ground balls? Come on dude...he throw 95...if you hit the ball it's going to be hard
-
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 9, 2014 -> 06:57 PM) He gave up a couple of soft hits. Kimd of like the double you pointed out tonight. The bottom line is he left with a 4 run lead with 4 outs to go after 107 pitches. If your bullpen can't hold that, he would have to throw 130 pitches anyway and I am sure Robin would be an idiot for letting him do that. I would have completely understood if he brought in Petricka to start the 9th. But these matchup plays he's going with lately against good opposing hitters instead of sticking with what's working is just over managing.
-
QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jul 9, 2014 -> 06:57 PM) Bulls*** right back at you. Petricka has been awesome this year. So maybe we should have brought him into the game in the 6th!
-
QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jul 9, 2014 -> 06:55 PM) There was a highlight reel stop by Conor and a line out to rf in the 7th, he wasn't "cruising." Because he gave up a hard hit ball to the third baseman? You're on f***ing crack, dude
-
QUOTE (Jake @ Jul 9, 2014 -> 06:53 PM) I probably would have left Chris in, but given wide concerns about pitch count, not knowing how he felt to begin the inning (remember how our pitching coach relies on pitcher's subjective feel), and knowing we had our best reliever ready to go for the opposing team's best RHH...I don't think it's a crazy move by any stretch of the imagination. Lots of managers would have done that. We don't care about pitch count. It's about effectiveness against the hitters. Chris was cruising.
