  1. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Aug 1, 2010 -> 02:58 PM) Right down the middle for ball 4. Ball 3 was a strike too
  2. Ugh. We can really use this day off tomorrow...crazy how a 6-1 home stand still doesn't make me feel that great...
  3. I know we have the lead here, but Jesus are we having some terrible at bats this weekend...
  4. Grace just said he has two boys, 6 and 9 years old, that would have caught the Mark Reynolds fly ball that Angel Pagan just missed...
  5. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Aug 1, 2010 -> 02:41 PM) Dan Hudson's slider just molested Mike Hessman over in New York. I expect him to be taken into police custody after the game. It's just not fair that you get to face guys like Dan Hessman in the National League...although I guess I do remember facing him when he came up for the Tigers several years back...
  6. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Aug 1, 2010 -> 02:24 PM) I'd be lying to you if i said i didn't. Extra Innings has introduced me to so many great ads. Have you seen the doctors ad they show out west, with the doctor talking about caring for his patients like he cares for his family, that finishes with one of his kids on his lap saying, "Daddy's baby girl!" In the creepiest way possible? Oh yes...I also hate how when you're watching the Twins games you have to learn about every damn one of their 10000 lakes, described by cheese dick Dick Bremer.
  7. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Aug 1, 2010 -> 01:14 PM) Stay fair, it won't. Dagummit. Thunderbolt, tell me you don't get a kick out of the "that's so gay" commercial on the A's Comcast channel...
  8. QUOTE (sin city sox fan @ Aug 1, 2010 -> 01:09 PM) I never thought I'd say it....but the Bridge has to stay on this team when Teahan is activated. I don't know how you can send either Lilli or Dayan down...
  9. So the A's broadcasters are comparing Gordon to Wayne Arnold from the Wonder Years...but I think Gio looks like BAlki Bartokomous from Perfect Strangers...
  10. Carlos got a hit...I don't remember what that looks like...
  11. QUOTE (MattZakrowski @ Aug 1, 2010 -> 12:55 AM) With beat writers you can get great information, but in most cases, I poop better analysis. Yeah, at least our beat writers anyways. There are a few really good ones around the league...we've just never really had one covering the Sox.
  12. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 31, 2010 -> 08:22 PM) He's not overly slow. Definitely faster than Kotsay is. I'm just telling you what the Ozzeroo thinks...
  13. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 31, 2010 -> 08:17 PM) I don't know what else Viciedo needs to do in order to stay on this roster when Teahen comes back. Run faster and play better defense would be the only way...
  14. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 31, 2010 -> 08:13 PM) Can't link it right now, but KW had some absolutely glowing reviews about Viciedo in Phil Rogers' article on chicagosports.com Basically, we need to pray that Kenny can convince Ozzie to keep Viciedo instead of another player...
  15. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 31, 2010 -> 07:50 PM) Joe Morgan has a lot of power in Hall of Fame voting and he broadcasts games on national TV every night while working for ESPN. That doesn't mean he brings anything to the table. Reputation is one thing to consider, but at the end of it all, when the reputable person says things that don't make sense, I really don't care what the said person does. Ok, and I can understand you thinking Joe Morgan speaks out of turn when he does. I cringed when he decided to give goalkeeping lessons to Robert Green after he gave up that goal to the US. And he really doesn't seem to have a good grip on a lot of the more modern thinking when it comes to the baseball industry as a whole. But he's also played major league baseball for a long, long time, at a very high, high level, and so he does bring that experience and practical knowledge to the game. There is something to be said for that, and value to be taken from that. I'm certainly not trying to make you agree with any of these guys...you can believe what you want...but how about some respect for what some of these people have done in the industry for so many years? They do bring knowledge and value, whether you agree with everything they say or not.
