  1. I can't wait to read the book about this entire process that comes out in 3 months...it's going to be awesome to read what really went down behind the scenes...
  2. Late tonight LeBron will be seen dining with Jay-Z and someone will find out that LeBron bought shares of some stock that the NJ Nets owner owns or something... Every big market is going to be lured into this nonsense.
  3. Some others have pointed this out in this thread....honestly, why would Carlos Boozer's agent allow him to sign this contract TODAY unless there was another purpose? Could he not have forced someone to give him a max contract simply by waiting until Friday? Who the hell else were the Bulls going to sign?
  4. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 03:27 PM) From DeLuca: Detatched lat for Peavy likely means he's out till Sept. best-case. White Sox will pursue starter on trade market. What? Why? My guess is this is just this guy's rash, uneducated opinion.
  5. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 02:27 PM) Maybe not, but I would expect to hear that we are talking hardcore about Boozer or Lee or other things. I'd even expect to hear a bit about what we talked to Lebron about, etc. If we were out, we'd hear a lot more about our pitch. Heck, as of now, we have absolutely no idea what the Bulls really sold Lebron on. None. That tells me about a team that hasn't given up hope becuase if we had failed, they'd be spinning it already. Hell for all we know Lebron hasn't made up his mind yet, he's just leaning one way or another and has told himself he needs to decide by tomorrow so that he can move on. I think the sales pitches are still out there and even if they aren't, Boozer is a really good fit. He likes Chicago and has wanted to play here and the Bulls have tried repeatedly to land him in the past. LeBron probably isn't telling them anything because he wants to draw the biggest ratings possible. If the Bulls come out and talk now, they risk the chance of blowing it, regardless of whether their chances are small. They're not going to admit defeat until they absolutely know he will not choose Chicago. And my guess is that he's holding all the teams hostage the same way.
  6. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 02:26 PM) This was a punch to the gut. So who likes our chances to take the division now? Lets pray that the Tigers/Twins don't acquire Lee. I still like them. Not all that worried about the downgrade, personally.
  7. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 02:22 PM) Haha, doesn't mean I'm smart, but I try to read as much between the lines as possible and I just think if the Bulls knew they were out, we'd have heard something by now. That isn't to say they know they are in, but I'd like to think they are in bunker mode trying to finalize the details to bring the King to Chicago (and not the Burger one). Just because they lost out on LeBron and Wade and Bosh, doesn't mean it's good business to behave desperately to sign Boozer. Besides, now Boozer holds some of the cards. He's probably going to sit back and enjoy his day in the sun.
  8. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 02:21 PM) I haven't said much today, but that is why I'm biting my tongue. Either way, it doesn't matter. It's very pretty to suddenly rip into these guys after worshipping them just 3 or 4 days ago. Pretty lame in my opinion.
  9. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 01:44 PM) The Angels broadcasters yesterday mentioned that Paulie was going to be in the home run derby. I hadn't heard that anywhere else. Can anyone confirm? Maybe they know something that we don't? I posted this in the game thread yesterday. I think he is considering it based on whether or not he makes the team. He has not yet committed to it, but I can't see Paulie doing it unless he already is going to be there for the game.
  10. I don't want anything to do with this trade.
  11. I thought Bosh came off quite well in that interview. I don't understand why so many people in here want to hate the guy. Guy is just trying to what's best for him and hasn't said a bad word about anyone involved in this process.
  12. Really proud of this win tonight...really big f***ing win....great job TP!
  13. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 6, 2010 -> 11:42 PM) Yeah but nobody's gonna die if we somehow lose. Bobby has to be put in a save situation sometime. Are you drunk?
  14. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jul 6, 2010 -> 10:30 PM) My gut says he'll be a Bull. My head says he'll be a Cav. So all in all, I agree with badger. The only thing that isn't putting it "over the top" is the dismissal of WWW. But I seriously believe he will choose Chicago. Then the pieces he has been saying about Chicago all year will come into play. Well see, if he would have chosen Chicago and then you would have posted this, I would have laughed at you. Now you'll get the credit!
  15. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 6, 2010 -> 11:29 PM) Wow, Rockies just scored 9 in the bottom of the 9th to beat the Cards, who were leading by 6. Holy s***
  16. QUOTE (bucket-of-suck @ Jul 6, 2010 -> 11:29 PM) Well he probably could of thrown Bobby in the 7th, Thornton in the 8th and Putz in the 9th, no? I would have approved that message.
  17. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jul 6, 2010 -> 10:27 PM) Hey look KRod That's like us and Carlos Lee and his brother, Carlos Lee
  18. QUOTE (bucket-of-suck @ Jul 6, 2010 -> 10:25 PM) Ozzie is really gonna throw Bobby tonight in the 9th? REALLY? Well why do you think I said I didn't like seeing Matt in the 8th?
  19. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 6, 2010 -> 10:24 PM) Great location on the 0-2 pitch! Jenks time in the 9th...hide the women and children! Ah luv it when you anahlyze
  20. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jul 6, 2010 -> 10:12 PM) I got my own sneaky suspicion as well (as mostly hope) but I'm not gonna say a word about it till he announces it. What kind of horses*** is that? Spill it...
  21. I'm not happy to see Matt in the 8th tonight.
  22. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 6, 2010 -> 10:03 PM) Want to bet he plays at least 3 of the next 5 games? Speaking of betting...
  23. Do you guys realize what the odds of us winning this game were in the second inning when Jake came out? Against Weaver? This would be a really nice win for us...
  24. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 6, 2010 -> 09:51 PM) Think of it this way...if it was one on, no outs for Rios, the Angels might have pitched him differently to try and induce the double play. I doubt they throw him an inside fastball. Oh I know, but it's much easier to b**** and moan about it this way.... Druw!
