  1. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jun 16, 2011 -> 04:47 PM) Yeah but none of that is really that important that it needs to completely dominate news cycles for weeks while there's 3 1/2 wars and plenty of domestic and international issues going on. It's scummy. He did a terrible thing to his wife. He tarnished his own reputation and credibility. There's no argument there. But resign? He's resigning because its too much of a distraction, and it's a distraction because of the over-the-top media obsession over it. And, as Balta's been kind enough to point out, Republicans have done worse and received far less coverage and haven't faced constant calls from both democrats and republicans to resign. Oh I agree that the coverage has been a little much, but it's a "juicy" story. Just like Edwards or Spitzer. And I DO think he should resign for, at the very least, absolute incompetence. He should not have the authority and power that comes with being a member of Congress is he's that f***ing stupid. Did he really think that stuff would not come out eventually? Has he not paid attention the last 10 years?
  2. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 16, 2011 -> 04:20 PM) I therefore infer, especially since neither immediately resigned, that illegal payments to your mistress out of campaign funds and visiting prostitutes are the virtues and ethics of a Congressional Republican. Ditto killing someone and covering it up.
  3. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jun 16, 2011 -> 04:05 PM) Glad that the evil liberal MSM essentially forced this resignation by making this story such a big deal. Please. The story wrote itself. A guy named Wiener was rumored to have showed his wiener to multiple women. He denies profusely. He then changes his mind, apologizes, says there's nothing else out there. Then days later there's even "worse" pictures of him in congressional gyms and whatnot. And then there's investigations that he might have sent some pics to an underage girl. Yeah, not a big deal though. He's upholding the outstanding virtues and ethics of a Congressional Democrat.
  4. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 16, 2011 -> 03:44 PM) I don't think this one will play well. Yeah, sounds like the people in attendance were really pissed and didn't care for his disrespectful joke.
  5. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jun 14, 2011 -> 10:15 AM) What a bunch of f***ing idiots. You have a guy with a $25 million property/home in your state paying taxes and you decide to s*** all over him. Lebron leaving cost Cleveland and Ohio a whole lot more than what he pays in taxes.
  6. Sigh, we're so f***ed.
  7. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 13, 2011 -> 01:37 PM) Really. I think right now, there might not be a team more dedicated to winning than the Bulls. I don't know if the Bulls can do this without gutting their team though. And how does this make them that much better? They're already the number one defensive team out there. They played well enough on that end of the floor against the Heat. The problem was scoring. Dwight doesn't give you that, especially in the 4th quarter. We need a legit, all star 2 guard or small forward. Someone like Jason Terry. Someone that can hit shots consistently when Rose penetrates.
  8. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 13, 2011 -> 07:44 AM) Let's face it: LeBron is a f***ing idiot. No denying that. But the entire planet has been trashing, insulting, etc, him all season long. LeBron was not going to win either way. Had the Heat won, it would've only been because he teamed up with Wade and Bosh. Had they lost? Well, we've already seen the aftermath of that. The only thing LeBron could've done last summer that wouldn't have the entire world hating him was to stay with the Cavs. I don't condone what LeBron said. But I can understand it. If I've got the entire world hating on me, I probably say a lot worse than that. That said, Dirk > LeBron. No, there were justifiable reasons to leave Cleveland and everyone was aware of them. It was ALL about the pomp and circumstance he and his friends created. It was his complete lack of respect for the game and the league, in the sense that he forced 5 teams to come beg for his services knowing full well he just wanted to party with his friends. I don't believe for a second that any of those guys had any other intention. It was all a play to get the most media attention. Don't you remember the "documentary" that Bosh/Wade were creating during the whole process? Funny how that thing slowly died away. Lebron could have gone to Chicago and everyone would have said that makes sense, he wants to win a bunch of titles. He could have gone to New York and people would have said, that makes sense, he always wanted to be the billionaire athlete and if he could revive the Knicks he'd become legendary. And on and on.
  9. QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Jun 12, 2011 -> 11:07 PM) A Pippen-led Bulls' team with Horace Grant as the #2 scorer was a bad Hue Hollins call away from getting a shot against Hakeem and his merry band of role players for the title. Nah, that was all MJ still. Pippen was a glorified role player.
  10. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 12, 2011 -> 10:55 PM) And that's fine. Pippen was ten times the choke artist LeBron is. He just had Michael. Simple as that. Sigh... Go watch some film, then come back and apologize. This is as dumb as Scottie claiming Lebron is as good as MJ.
  11. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 12, 2011 -> 10:51 PM) How stupid does Scottie Pippen feel right about now? That dumbass still to this day doesn't realize that MJ made him what he was. Scottie - MJ= Reggie Lewis or something. This might be the dumbest post I've read in this thread. Seriously
  12. And how could you not love Cuban? He's out there hugging every Mavs Fan in Miami
  13. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jun 12, 2011 -> 09:56 PM) However the CBA works, they will get to keep Wade/Lebron, its Bosh thats up in the air. For all I said bad about Wade, he really stepped up in the finals, its just a question of Wade/Lebron playing that way together. It just doesnt seem to happen like it should. Losing Bosh could potentially even help them because they may not feel the need to force it a third guy. As long as they have Wade/Lebron Miami is going to be a nightmare team. Honestly I came away from the playoffs impressed be Bosh. He dominated the bulls and except for game one and two he had a really solid finals. Not bad for a guy that had never won a playoff game before this year.
  14. QUOTE (Palehosefan @ Jun 12, 2011 -> 09:36 PM) Spoelstra is just awful, I don't think he lasts long this offseason. Not really his fault IMO. This series came down to effort/heart, not execution
  15. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jun 12, 2011 -> 09:26 PM) The refs are going to kill Dallas down the stretch, but all they have to do is play even for 7 more minutes. They have the talent to do it, just have to play well. Lol, u r becoming my favorite unintentional comedy poster. Seriously.
  16. Lol at bosh acting like he got hit in the face
  17. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jun 12, 2011 -> 09:18 PM) The free throws are exaggerated, but some of those fouls by Dallas were pretty clear. You cant just look at the shear numbers, when Miami gets in the paint Dallas has been giving them some pretty hard fouls. There really havent been that many terrible calls, some close ones have gone Miami's way, but its a home court game. Seriously... When did you become an NBA/Heat apologist?
  18. QUOTE (kapkomet @ Jun 12, 2011 -> 09:15 PM) let's see... 31 free throws attempted vs 12 for the Mavs. Um, yea. The NBA has no interest keeping the game close/making it go seven...
  19. Finally the tech on wade
  20. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jun 12, 2011 -> 08:11 PM) Spoelstra is just not taking advantage of his match ups right now. Chandler gets 3 fouls, so he goes small? And damn Lebron misses 2 fts. (edit) It means what it clearly says. People were complaining about how the refs might call the game tonight before the ball even tipped off. If you are watching the game and bad calls happen thats when you complain. No, it was after Dallas got up 12 in the 2nd, which is a guarantee in the NBA that the officiating will change to keep the game close. Shockingly, that's exactly what happened.
  21. LOL!!!! What a f***ing call on Terry there
  22. And there's wade getting 2 bs free throws
  23. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jun 12, 2011 -> 07:57 PM) I definitely think that the NBA tries to fix games, Im just hoping dallas can overcome it. Lol, so why did you respond that way to my post?
  24. Lol, thanks chalmers for the perfect example. Pretty obvious call missed
  25. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jun 12, 2011 -> 07:46 PM) People need to stop fixating on the refs, if Dallas can shoot and score over 100 points, its going to be a tough game for Miami. If you want to be a champion you have to win, not hope the refs help you. It's the NBA man. Just watch
