  1. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 08:50 AM) because none of this s*** has made any sense... why did Bulls brass get suckered into D-Wade and waste their time on him? Why didn't the Bulls just man up and S&T for Bosh with Noah thus not giving Wade what he wanted? Probably because they knew pulling Lebron away from Cleveland was going to be tough no matter how great their pitch was. Wade probably expressed being pissed that the Amare to Miami deal didn't go through, so the door was open to get both of them. It didn't work, but they tried. The s&t wasn't an issue with Bosh. He's signing for the max with Miami, which he could have done in Chicago. For all we know, the Bulls were fine giving Noah away, but neither the Bulls nor the Raptors had much say in what Bosh decided to do. That's what scares me about the Bulls. If Bosh wanted to play with Lebron and he was willing to just take a max deal, they'd be in Chicago right now. But something happened. My guess is either (1) Lebron said he didn't want to go to Chicago or (2) they all agreed to go to Miami. My only remaining hope: Lebron and Wade got into a bidding war for Bosh and Wade simply won. Both Lebron and Wade preferred to get that 6 year contract and stay at home. Both gave Bosh a pitch to come join them. I’m hoping Lebron basically told Bosh I’m staying in Cleveland, that’s that. So Bosh decided to go to Miami to play with Wade. Now Lebron is sitting back and hopefully thinking that Cleveland is his worst shot at a title, so he has to change his mind to either join those guys in Miami or come to Chicago. Since he’s an ego-maniac, hopefully that means he comes to Chicago and takes over the city versus just playing a part in Wade’s city.
  2. I find it a little puzzling that this happened the way it did. Both Wade and James clearly wanted to stay home and get Bosh to join them. For some reason Wade won. Now the question is what will Lebron do. It again comes back to what he wants. If it's rings, his best bet is still Chicago. As much as ESPN is pimping NY, they still suck, Amare or no Amare. They're the same team, just replace Lee. Cleveland is still a contender, mainly because of Lebron, but they are limited in what they can do. And the Heat, while better than last year because of Bosh, still can't be considered that much of a contender since they have zero shooters. Hopefully Lebron got blindsided by this decision. Hopefully he realizes that Rose/Noah with Boozer or Lee is his best shot to win and win now. On Mike and Mike this morning even the Cleveland beat writer seemed to suggest that it would be foolish to count the Bulls out because it's his best shot to win. Broussard keeps talking up the Lebron to Miami idea. But I don't see it. Too many alpha dogs. Why not announce during Lebron's special tomorrow?
  3. If Lebron stays in Cleveland, without the Cavs bringing in ANY decent FA.....he's the dumbest player alive. Cleveland offers nothing.
  4. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jul 6, 2010 -> 12:10 PM) Today's questions: Are we actually any closer to a resolution to this now than we've been in the last several days other than the fact the season is coming closer and they eventually have to decide? And does anybody actually know anymore about what is going to happen now than in the past? Or is everything we're reading still bull s*** and nobody actually knows what they're doing yet? I think we're finding out that Lebron wants to stay in Cleveland more than originally thought. IMO there's four ways this plays out: (1) Lebron stays in Cleveland, convinces Bosh to come with him, forces Wade to come to Chicago with Lee or Boozer. (2) Lebron stays in Cleveland, Bosh signs with another team completely (not Miami since Tor has said no to any S&T with Miami), Wade comes to Chicago with Lee or Boozer (3) Lebron comes to Chicago, convinces Bosh to come with, Wade stays in Miami (4) Lebron comes to Chicago and convinces Wade to come with, Bosh to Houston, the rest no one cares. Edit: sorry, 5 5) Lebron and Wade stay, Bosh goes to Houston, Chicago gets f***ed.
  5. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 6, 2010 -> 12:07 PM) I support this tweet, even though it's bulls***. Ugh, what a dream. Give Wade the max, let Lebron make his money elsewhere. Wade, Lebron, Rose, Noah. that's 6 titles in the bag.
  6. I think its been reported that Noah is untradeable at this point.
  7. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jul 6, 2010 -> 10:22 AM) I think the Bulls not trading Deng for Gasol was more because Uncle Jerry didn't think Gasol was worth going into the luxury tax for. And considering the Bulls didn't have Rose yet at the time and Gasol had the playoff resume he had with the Grizzlies, I can see why he thought that. You're right about the media not wanting to trade Deng for Kobe though, goofs (and if they didn't want to trade Deng for Gasol, they certainly wouldn't have wanted to trade him for Kobe). I wonder how close either of those trades ever were to happening. i thought it was Kobe who said he wouldn't come to Chicago unless Deng remained on the team?

Yeah, everyone seems to say that when I tell them I did not care for Pulp Fiction. Just didn't do anything for me. Had some decent moments, but overall it was just too long and not entertaining enough for me.
  9. QUOTE (HeGone33 @ Jul 6, 2010 -> 09:54 AM) I hate Luol Deng, and his contract. It is going to be extremely painful watching him play next season, and to know not moving him might be the reason we end up shut out here. I really don't think that has much to do with it. It's not lack of money or effort by the Bulls, it's simply two guys that prefer to stay where they are.
  10. QUOTE (Wedge @ Jul 6, 2010 -> 09:36 AM) If Wade is going back to Miami, why hasn't he already signed there? What awkwardness could there be at a camp if the answer is "Yeah, I'm coming back to the Heat." I think he's waiting for Lebron and Bosh to figure it out first. If Lebron bolts for Chicago he's got two choices - join the 2nd coming of the Bulls dynasty or remain on a 7-8 seed playoff team. If Lebron stays, he's gotta make sure he can get Bosh to sign with the Heat or he's in the same boat. I think Bosh really likes the idea of going to Houston if he can't partner up with anyone else.

QUOTE (KipWellsFan @ Jul 5, 2010 -> 12:05 AM) The Road, like the book, is tremendous. I've got the movie netflixed. I thought the book was solid, but it didn't really go anywhere. I'm hoping the movie will bring out a little more emotion.

Ingloriuous Bastards proved that QT still sucks at making movies (Resevoir Dogs being his last good one). Decent idea, style was all over the place, pacing was all over the place, crappy ending, and 30 minutes longer than it needed to be. Just bad.
  13. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jul 6, 2010 -> 09:05 AM) That's kind of how I've felt all along. If anything, this whole thing has been discouraging. The Bulls have always had a realistic shot at getting one of the big three so there was reason to have some good feelings, but it's always been an overall underdog proposition. And if you don't get any of them, you're probably stuck in NBA jail for a long time unless you get lucky, because Carlos Boozer (or David Lee) and a shooter or two isn't going to be enough to win anything relevant. The one guy I still have some hope for is Wade. Particularly if Lebron is trying to go back to Cleveland and can convince Bosh to do a sign and trade to join him. That'd leave Wade with nothing in Miami, and make it really hard for him to stay. The only positive is that unless Bosh goes to Miami with Wade, the Bulls stay as good as they were last year. Lebron gets no help in Cleveland, the Celtics get older (and possibly lose Allen). Miami and Orlando are probably the favorites, but maybe the Bulls get better in the next 8 months and can beat some of those teams. Maybe everyone with cap space this year blows their money and next year we go after Anthony.
  14. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jul 6, 2010 -> 07:12 AM) There was a point to that though. It was Marston trying to settle down and lead that mundane rancher life. I agree, but I think some cut scenes would have been better to set up the rancher life, Jack as the idealist dreamer and not the fighting type, etc.
  15. At this point I've lost all excitement about this decision. At best the Bulls have a 50/50 shot of getting one of the big two, otherwise it's a Boozer or Lee signing and maybe a run at Camelo next year (not likely). I can't fault the Bulls though. From everything I've read/heard they've done exactly the right thing. Nearly pulling Wade in despite him being a "lock" to return to Miami was incredible. As far as Lebron's decision, I'm confident this whole process was mapped out and manufactured by his inner circle. The longer people talk about him and what he's thinking/doing the better for his career. But leaving Cleveland isn't as easy as some are making it out to be. Without him the town does die a little. People will lose their jobs. All of his friends at the Cavs will instantly be thrown into s***sville. It'd be a tough choice for anyone.
  16. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 6, 2010 -> 08:17 AM) As can Delonte West... and his still being in Cleveland is reason #829 why LBJ needs to GTFO.
  17. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Jun 25, 2010 -> 11:55 PM) Same just finished Red Dead like 5 minutes ago. Loved and hated the ending, but loved it more because it went the less traditional route which was good. Overall just an amazing game, but I do wish there were more I just finished it and felt like the ending was a bit disjointed. You finish your task, then do another hours worth of bulls*** quests, and then you're given a semi-predictable ending. Still pretty solid though. I'd give it an 8/10. It's not the greatest game ever, despite some of the reviews. Very buggy, boring and repetitive at times (cattle herding = AWFUL). But, the parts that were done right were done really well. The landscape visuals are amazing, especially during rainstorms. That was probably my favorite part. I'll definitely grab any DLC they come out with.
  18. I think you guys are ignoring the regional businesses he can endorse. We're not talking 100 million dollar deals, but a few million here or there for a regional company in New York? He's not going to get that playing in Cleveland. And yeah, he's a global brand already, but I think if you put him on a russian owned team you've just opened the door to people he probably wouldn't connect with otherwise. Edit: interesting article on the topic: http://espn.go.com/blog/truehoop/post/_/id...lar-knick-pitch
  19. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jul 2, 2010 -> 11:26 AM) Like he's not going to be the richest player in the league regardless of which team he signs with (salary, endorsements, etc). Yeah, but the endorsement deals from smaller companies would be more lucrative in bigger cities. And the Nets owner offers him global connections.
  20. QUOTE (scenario @ Jul 2, 2010 -> 11:16 AM) The more I read about the Nets new owner, the more I believe Lebron could end up there. A 45-year old jet-setting self-made billionaire... with a personal net worth that might be greater than most (or all) of the other NBA owners combined? I could picture his sales pitch on how to take Lebron global and help him join the billionaire boys club might be too tempting to say no. I think this process is going to show us a lot about what Lebron thinks is important Cavs - loyalty Bulls/Heat - winning Nets/Knicks/Clips- money
  21. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jul 2, 2010 -> 08:24 AM) Over the years, I swear, every food we eat has been found by one study or another to both cause, AND prevent, cancer. Blasphemy! Science should never be questioned!!!!
  22. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 1, 2010 -> 02:14 PM) Link well no f***ing s***. You can't offer EIGHT GRAND in cash to people, artificially creating demand, and then expect the same level of interest once the program goes away. They're idiots for even starting that nonsense (though i'll happily take my eight grand to the bank. thanks everyone!), and they're even bigger idiots for letting the deadline pass only to extend it 2 months later.
  23. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 1, 2010 -> 09:10 AM) Because they're such a dominant force, they're a remarkably good nationwide proxy for "Fast food in general". The area in black here is the area that is "Dominated" by McDonalds. look at all those Sonics.
  24. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 1, 2010 -> 01:15 PM) They do not presently. They would need to move Deng. I'm assuming that the rumors of Toronto not wanting Deng are true. I guess that's just speculation though.
  25. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 1, 2010 -> 01:03 PM) They can get to two max contracts. The problem remains that if you do a sign and trade for Bosh, he'll make more money than LeBron, which isn't going to fly. I wonder if they can put that delicately enough to Bosh to make it clear to him. No, they can't. Bosh is going to have to take just a little less if Lebron signs (or vice versa) http://espn.go.com/nba/dailydime/_/page/di...ap-room-summary
