  1. QUOTE (29andPoplar @ Jun 16, 2008 -> 07:09 AM) You know what, I agree. If he were tearing it up in AAA I would say well, why not. But he isn't, he has been very inconsistent. 3-5 one night, 0-4 the next two nights. On base % not that great, I think about .332 or so. On the other hand, looking at the 40 man, there's not much else. They have one spot open so they could bring someone from outside on board. Unless they want to go the DeWayne Wise route again. Frankly, no one they have in the minors fits the bill. They need a contact hitter with speed, preferably a leadoff guy, a veteran guy who can help in a pennant race and a guy who can disrupt the opposition. Is that guy available? If so, they need to get it done. The team is sleepwalking, it is frustrating to everyone and they need a jolt. i would love to stick it to the cub fans, they have been clamoring about getting lofton, i would love to pluck him, then play him this weekend. God I hate the Cubs, but I hate Cub fans even more. I am one person not looking forward to this weekend.
  2. QUOTE (Frankensteiner @ Jun 16, 2008 -> 07:50 AM) Yes, I would still like that. But if you're talking about bringing in another outfielder then I'd rather have Lofton over Owens or Brian Anderson. agreed.
  3. QUOTE (klaus kinski @ Jun 16, 2008 -> 07:43 AM) Teams that have Lofton usually win-bring him in i am with you but he costs alot, and for whatever reason the sox don't want to pay.
  4. I may have to take this back but i don't think Eldred will see the majors anytime soon if at all unless there is some sort of an emergency or he becomes a late bloomer Ross Gload type.
  5. QUOTE (Frankensteiner @ Jun 15, 2008 -> 07:55 PM) Really would be a good time to sign Kenny Lofton. Yesterday you wanted to call up fields to play first base. No?
  6. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jun 16, 2008 -> 06:39 AM) I actually agree. We need something different up here and the power/slugging all or nothing part of the game isnt working for us clearly. Im ready to take a chance on something different at this point. 1. Owens CF 2. OC SS 3. Q LF 4. Dye RF 5. Thome DH (ugh) 6. AJP C 7. Swish 1B 8. Crede 3B 9. Alexei 2B Rock after Ozzie watched what Pods and taveras did to them on the bases this weekend, Owens will get the call if Konerko gets DL'd.
  7. QUOTE (Frankensteiner @ Jun 15, 2008 -> 08:55 PM) Really would be a good time to sign Kenny Lofton. he hasn't hit in awhile, they will call up owens.
  8. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jun 15, 2008 -> 05:33 PM) Its time to do something before this season is lost. First place teams in the AL do not start players hitting near .200. Thome has missed meatball fastballs more times this season than he has in his whole career. We need to make a move. thats what Ozzie said after the Tampa series. same frustration with nowhere to turn.
  9. QUOTE (WhiteSoxfan1986 @ Jun 15, 2008 -> 04:13 PM) It better be Fields who gets called up doesn't make sense for fields, but continue down the path. Fields is nothing right now.
  10. well we will see very soon what type of team the sox play this week if konerko goes on the DL. Ozzie is not optimistic. We will see who they call up. if its owens, then he will lead off. But with the NL teams (parks) coming up your two biggest HR threats will be out of the lineup. They better get speed if they cannot swing for the fences.
  11. it would be great to scratch out a run rather than wait for a home run.
  12. QUOTE (Frankensteiner @ Jun 15, 2008 -> 03:18 PM) Fields is no savior. Don't hold your breath on Crede, though. well quite frankly fields is truly our best trading chip. If crede signs, Fields is gone and he will bring some good stuff in return. a long shot yes, but I am hoping it could happen.
  13. QUOTE (Brian @ Jun 15, 2008 -> 03:18 PM) Trying to get into scoring position with 2 outs after getting on to lead off the inning. Didn't have a problem with the attempt. Blame Thome for sucking and Crede for a douche like AB. thome just outright sucks. its unfortunate. he and konerko just got old in a hurry.
  14. QUOTE (Frankensteiner @ Jun 15, 2008 -> 03:14 PM) The Sox need another hitter. I'd much rather have Fields' bat in the lineup over Anderson or Uribe. 1B is the easiest position to handle in the majors. Are you saying that Fields would need a season of preparing for 1b to be able to hold it down? That's ridiculous. Yes I am saying he can barely handle 3rd base which he has played for years. But hell you know better. it will never happen because baseball teams actually know what there players can do and its not like he is hitting the cover off the ball in the minors. Quite frankly I cannot wait for Crede to sign long term and we trade Fields away so I don't have to hear this stuff like he is some kind of savior.
  15. QUOTE (TheBigHurt @ Jun 15, 2008 -> 03:14 PM) Seriously, I'm getting tired of all these suggestions to play Fields in random positions. He's a third baseman. amen
  16. QUOTE (Frankensteiner @ Jun 15, 2008 -> 03:10 PM) I am saying play Fields at 1B. because he plays so much first base now, and he played so much first base in the past. Comon your kidding right. are you sure your not VAFAN? The guy can barely play good third base, and he couldn't play the outfield. Now you want him to just step in at first?
  17. QUOTE (Frankensteiner @ Jun 15, 2008 -> 03:05 PM) How's DL a 1B necessitate bringing up an outfielder. swisher moves to first now, he is no longer playing the outfield. You do not need another infielder, you now need an outfielder. but lets not degress here, he may not go on the DL at all. By the way thunderstorm in naperville right now therefore it should reach the ball park in about 20 minutes.
  18. QUOTE (Frankensteiner @ Jun 15, 2008 -> 03:04 PM) He's the oldest 32 year old in the league. DL him and bring up Fields. actaully if you DL him you will need an outfielder.
  19. konerko with a strained Oblique, so now he has a hand and a stomach, that should make for some good at bats.
  20. seems like brian was just trotting back there. damn run for it.
  21. wait until we play the cubs at wrigley. We are going to get smoked.
  22. why does this happen, what is with this team. Damn it they suck
  23. QUOTE (CWSOX45 @ Jun 15, 2008 -> 02:40 PM) Farmer is saying that he was safe by 7 feet..... Minnesota now leading Milwaukee 2-1. he is high, he didn't really say that did he?
