  1. QUOTE(RibbieRubarb @ Sep 13, 2006 -> 03:47 PM) Sandy Alomar was laughing and telling Iguchi to get back to 3rd after he just scored. It wouldn't be too funny if we were tied or losing by a run
  2. Paulie's gonna throw his back if he swings any harder.
  3. QUOTE(Jenks Heat @ Sep 13, 2006 -> 03:38 PM) As much as I hate podsednik I would love for him to do something monumental for the team I cheer for. I am not a Garcia fan and please don't take this the wrong way but to not want him to get a perfect game is pretty moronic. What's the big deal? He's gone after this season anyhow..................Then again, it might bring up his stock in the trade market........................Go Freddy, Go! You go boy!
  4. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Sep 13, 2006 -> 03:32 PM) Am I the only one who's extremely torn when it comes to Garcia's possible perfect game? I mean he is a White Sox player and all but this is more of a personal accomplishment and I really dislike Freddy Garcia, he is without a doubt my least favorite player on this team (outside of Podsednik) and I'd rather he not be one of the worst pitchers ever to pitch a perfect game. Don't worry, there's no phawking way he gets even a shutout......or a complete game..........
  5. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Sep 13, 2006 -> 03:30 PM) Brian Anderson is a god amongst men. God of the Uncontrolled Swing.........................
  6. Why is Freddy pitching so good? I thought he only pitched in "Big" games. Personally, I thought this was the first game of the 2006 White Sox funeral procession. Why prolong the inevitable? Either get on that "run" or put us out of our misery already, for Chrys' sakes.
  7. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Sep 13, 2006 -> 03:20 PM) Iguchi has made two bonehead plays today. Its s*** like this that makes me so upset with the season.. Gooch: " Me no speek Inglish!"
  8. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Sep 13, 2006 -> 03:20 PM) Pods decides to pull up and dog it to third last night, and now gooch. Great baserunning. Classic White Sox baseball!
  9. That swing Paulie took was a "pad-the-stats" type of swing. He almost came off his shoes! He still swinging for the interstate.......
  10. The pitching has arrived since 10 days ago, yet we continue to play sub .500 ball. Now the focus is on Pods being an automatic out, Thome striking out like a champ, and Konerko, double-play hitting extraordinaire. And don't even get me started on Anderson, who has sucked the BIG ONE all year on offense. The team cannot put it together. Ozzie is fiddling around trying desperately to find someone who will step up at the weak areas, and every move he makes, makes him look like an idiot. It is not his fault that the players simply could not put it together. It is his fault that he himself lost about 8 to 12 games by leaving his starters in too long during mid season, when it was clear already that the pitching wasn't the same as last year. I believe Ozzie learned a HUGE lesson this year, and it will make him a much better manager henceforth. He trusts his players and has good relationships with them, but he has altered the way he manages already this year. You can clearly see it, and I believe he will carry those painful lessons ready to do battle next year, with considerably less patience for mediocrity. Hence, and you read it here first, if Anderson slumps early next year, he's done.
  11. QUOTE(dmbjeff @ Sep 13, 2006 -> 08:55 AM) October 28th when we beat the Mets in the World Series. Keep the faith people. I like your spirit, but I must advise you that drugs aren't good for you............ I say the last game of the Cleveland series, which we will win, but Minnesota will also win but be 4 games up on us.
  12. That was the straw that broke the camel's back, people. The fuse IS indeed lit!.......and this season will blow up in our faces in comical fashion. I can't remember a more talented team that folded without a post-season berth since......I can't come up with anyone. Had we broken apart the team, a la 2003 Florida Marlins, I would understand. But in the eyes of every baseball analyst who knows anything about baseball, this has to be one of the bigger mysteries that the Sox didn't reach the playoffs. They ARE loaded with talent. But the hunger simply wasn't there. There was also too much tinkering and experiments taking place.It's mind-boggling, and as much adulation as there was to go around last year, some heads have to roll this year. Let's get Pods out of left field, since he won't be there next year and see what Sweeney can do in 3 weeks. Get McCarthy to start a couple of games to evaluate his progress, and dump all dead weight, Garcia, Cotts, Vasquez. Go Sox in 2007!
  13. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 11, 2006 -> 02:19 PM) I'll pretty much guarantee that Pods is leading off, and Sweeney is playing in CF. With how crappy Anderson has looked recently, I can't say that I blame Ozzie. Are you kidding me? Did you see the swings he's been taking the last few games? Anderson hasn't a phawking clue. He's an automatic out. We need every opportunity to score runs. Anderson is a hindrance not a benefit.
  14. QUOTE(BainesHOF @ Sep 11, 2006 -> 11:13 AM) Frank can hit lefties so I'll take Frank. BINGO!
  15. QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Sep 11, 2006 -> 11:10 AM) I got a bad feeling that come next Monday the 2006 Chicago White Sox will be all but eliminated. I would so love it if they proved me wrong. Let's see....We're playing the Angels who have their backs against the wall and are fighting for their playoff lives. Minnesota plays Oakland who have a cushy 5.5 game lead on the Angels. Detroit plays Texas who are basically out of contention and already playing their farm call-ups for next year. If the Sox don't come through in these six games, it really is over.
  16. QUOTE(MSHAWKS @ Sep 10, 2006 -> 06:57 PM) Spencer Tracy is also good. There's also this guy.....Dick Tracy........
  17. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Sep 10, 2006 -> 04:34 PM) Blah,Blah Blah, Ozzie is using Brandon in the wrong role. Im sick of that. Brandon has one role. Get Outs. That is his role, along with everyone else in the bullpen and the staff. Get outs. Right now, he is not getting it done, plane and simple. There was ALOT done wrong today, but McCarthy needs to step it up, because he isnt helping his cause by getting more time on the mound... Amen.
  18. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Sep 10, 2006 -> 04:25 PM) It's been said before -- McCarthy rarely has a feel for his changeup out of the bullpen. His curveball doesn't have the noticeable "snap" to it either. Still, I'm not giving up on him because of bullpen struggles. Even if he were to duplicate his current numbers in the rotation, he's pitching poorly for 8 million less than any of our other starters. I have a fastball that clocks at about 82 MPH. Maybe they'll gimme a shot too.................
  19. QUOTE(Jeckle2000 @ Sep 10, 2006 -> 04:14 PM) Sorry but that was all on Ozzie... you know BMAC struggles with runners on bases... so why in the hell do you put him out there with the bases loaded... he's just not cut out to be a reliever... he needs to get into the rotation RIGHT NOW! Take someone else like Garcia and try him in the pen... Just read this again, smart guy. Are you freaking kidding me? Garcia can't hold runners on base and you'd put him in the pen for late inning situations? You ain't got a freaking clue. It's so ridiculous that it's actually funny. McCarthy is still working on that cheese of a pitch he calls a changeup. Ozzie can clearly see that the kid struggles. Had he started this year, I doubt he would have lasted any more than 4 innings.
  20. QUOTE(Jeckle2000 @ Sep 10, 2006 -> 04:06 PM) Mock me if you will... But I think that this is the lineup you need to go with for the rest of the year: 2B- Iguchi CF- Anderson RF- Dye 1B- Konerko DH-Thome 3B- Crede C- AJ LF- Sweeney SS- Uribe God forbid that lineup might even win some games... If BA can't get hits hitting in front of Dye, Kong, and Thome theres no hope for him... and Iguchi has the skills to adust to any spot in the BO it's set in... I think you have something there. Having Anderson in front of our best hitter should give him good pitches to hit. Problem is, if he doesn't hit, the Sox will likely lose many more ballgames. It is true though, if he can't hit in that situation, then it's time to move him, 'cause he's not likely to get better.
  21. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Sep 10, 2006 -> 03:32 PM) I agree with you; I wasn't being sarcastic. Yesterday's s***ty effort from the bullpen, turning a nine run lead into a game that our two best relievers needed to pitch in, really had an effect on today's game. If the bullpen does it's job yesteday, we'd have MacDougal and Thorton and Jenks available, but instead -- well, we gave up seven runs in an inning. McCarthy cost us this ballgame in more ways than one. Had he pitched halfway decent last night, we could have saved Mac Dougal for today. Hehas totally sucked his last 5 outings in a row. Anyone b****ing about Ozzie not using McCarthy properly should be labotomized. Oh, and my favorite one.....That Ozzie is putting his pitchers in a position to fail. Cheese and cripes! Do you people hear yourselves? The kid is overrated and Ozzie has had ample reason for not using him, 'cause he has colossally sucked, period!
