  1. QUOTE(maggliopipe @ Sep 18, 2006 -> 07:14 PM) Does this team make you want to? a) laugh B) cry c) beat the crap out of something D) All of the Above
  2. QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Sep 18, 2006 -> 07:07 PM) Thome is useless. Sit him for the rest of the year. Let Fields, Sweeney, or Owens play. I am so sick of Thome looking like Danny reTardabull up there. Sheesh! And I thought Adam Dunn was bad.......................... QUOTE(GOD @ Sep 18, 2006 -> 07:10 PM) Jim Thome ruined this team! Best and most accurate quote this year. I hear ya, brother. We're down to 24 members. Wow! Bunch of bandwagoneers......Oh wait, Monday Night Football's on...............
  3. The users online bracket at the bottom of the page is getting smaller and smaller. I'll be gone shortly myself.
  4. Go, Big Jim, striking out like a champ.......again and again and again......................
  5. Everybody on this board boasted of the best offense in baseball. Let's see, we have scored a total of 18 runs in 6 games not counting that 9 to 0 aberration last week, for a grand total of 3 runs per game. I've said from very early on that the TEMPO of this team was not conducive to a fluid offense. We relied on too few guys to produce most of the runs. Now those guys are slumping collectively and we look worse than the KC Royals, no wait......worse than the Chicago Cubs!
  6. QUOTE(cgaudin @ Sep 18, 2006 -> 06:53 PM) Let's go Gooch, pop out to the second baseman, like you always do...... Thanks for making me look like an ass, Gooch!
  7. Let's go Gooch, pop out to the second baseman, like you always do......
  8. QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Sep 18, 2006 -> 06:44 PM) I have tickets tomorrow, but I really don't want to see this s*** in person. Why pay for parking at a hot dog when my empty seat speaks for itself. Phawkin' aye! That would speak volumes.........
  9. QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Sep 18, 2006 -> 06:40 PM) You would prefer Buehrle who gives up four extra base hits every inning. Buehrle needs his smug ass taken out of the game early to say to him, "Mark, you sucked ass in 2006." Sox fans at the ballpark need to let these players know how pathetic this team has been. They need to let them know.....and loudly. PHAWK U 2006 White Sox! WOW! The amount of posters has dwindled fast. Hey moderator, where the hell did they go? There's only a fraction of guys on the board, compared to last week........ I guess they've had it with this team, already. I bet they're on the Bears' BB's. Just as well......
  10. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Sep 18, 2006 -> 06:37 PM) RBI's say more about the players ahead of you getting on base and in scoring position than you as a hitter. OPS% and OPS+ are the best ways to judge a hitter IMO. You don't have to agree with it, I personally don't care. As long as a guy is getting on base, he's doing his job. Why the hell is he getting 12 million? For that price, he needs to be more clutch. All that other horsesh*t doesn't cut it.
  11. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 18, 2006 -> 06:36 PM) Haegar was already warming up in the first. Great! Charlie Haeger, who walks 4 guys in a row every time he goes in. WTF
  12. Ozzie needs to get the bullpen ready if Buerhle gets in trouble again. He cannot allow this game to get out of reach. The Sox are on playoff life support at this point and it's do or die. He cannot afford to "save" the pitching arms for future games, 'cause if we lose the rest of the games will be rendered meaningless anyway.
  13. QUOTE(iguchi=dank @ Sep 18, 2006 -> 06:20 PM) Well good luck to the tigers and twins, amazing that they show energy and a will to win. Those 2 teams are showing you the 3rd dimension you must have if your going to get to the playoffs. Really if we were just going to win 1 game in this series and play like crap some more, I'd much rather if we just get our asses handed to us like we are right now. End it quickly. Although that triple play was nice, and in a Real year might spark a hungry team to a big win, but were still down 2. To not make this too negetive just let me say that even with all the laziness and lack of pitching and all the ugly nights after bad loses; I can still say I enjoyed this season more than most. We still have a world championship title in 2005 and won alot of games this year, stayed in contention for a while and STILL have, in my opinion, a team that isn't too old next year and a few guys that are young and going to play some next year. And finally I'm excited about the offseason, our guys are going to become hungry again next year and the white sox made alot of money this year which means kenny has money to play with, and I believe he will get rid of any guy on this team that looks like he isn't going to be hungry for a world title next year. go sox and see ya in the offseason, unless we pull a miracle and make me happy. Good point. I've paid attention this year a whole lot more than last year. It has been excruciating at times but the Sox are still (technically) in the hunt with two weeks to go, which is more than I can say for those Northside people, whose season ended before they even started the season. Southside baseball is King in Chicago, and I am thrilled about that. With that said, let's go Sox in 2007, 'cause this season is ova.
  14. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Sep 17, 2006 -> 04:59 PM) I will say, if the Sox want any glimmer of hope, Detroit cannot leave Chicago with more wins then they have now. Dude, please. It's over.
  15. Well guys, it was a very disappointing season. This puts it in the bag for the Tigers and Twins. 4 behind with 13 to go, no phawking way we get in now. Ozzie did not take the season with enough urgency early on and that cost us many ballgames. PHAWK YOU Garcia, PHAWK YOU Podsednik, PHAWK YOU Anderson, PHAWK YOU Neal "Pile of Dung" Cotts. Enjoy your phawking hard earned paychecks over the off season, and again thanks for tanking the season. I wanna reserve a special PHAWK YOU to Joey Cora for your excellent baserunning calls and Don Cooper for your cheery, "glass Half-full" attitude despite the obvious signs of s***ty pitching throughout the entire staff. I could understand one or two guys, but cheeses phawking cripes, an entire staff pitched like absolute dog poop the entire year. Great job guys! You earned your $102 million this year. We'll see you next year. Then again, hopefully........we won't.
  16. QUOTE(SinkingShip06 @ Sep 16, 2006 -> 12:06 AM) that's the offense. if you upgrade 3 or possibly 4 positions because of him being gone this team is MUCH better. jim is the posterboy for homer or nuthin Word......... Thome is country strong, and he never gets cheated while taking his swings, which is exactly the problem. But taking him out of the lineup means Pods, Anderson, and Uribe will need to be replaced with more productive hitters. I've said all along that I didn't like the Sox reliance on the HR. They need a more fluid offense that can put pressure on the basepaths.
  17. What happened to the "FUSE IS LIT" banner up above the web page? I now see gooch swinging at a pitch above his head! How fitting............. I thought we would be only 4 games out at the end of the Detroit series. I truly underestimated their impunity. My mistake. I will amend my prediction to 6 games when the Detroit series is over.
  18. QUOTE(MSHAWKS @ Sep 15, 2006 -> 10:59 AM) No kidding. Did you see the dogs that Cleveland and Baltimore are throwing out there on the mound tonight? Wow. The baseball Gods are NOT smiling upon us. It's a conspiracy.........yeah, that's it.
  19. I'm stating the obvious here but it's quite clear that regardless of how good some think this offense is, it almost always gets shut down by good pitching. If we should get in the playoffs, then I hope we get the Skankees, cause that's the team with the weakest pitching, other than ours. The Twins and the A's will mow us down in detail. The National League has the Astros, but they won't make the playoffs.
  20. That scrub makes over 4 mil a year? Cheeses-H-phawking-Cripes! I thought he made 1 to 1.5 mil. Get rid of that turd. Garcia will be gone after the season. That's what 10 million saved? Pods is gone, he would have been at around 4 mil with arbitration so you save that much. Get rid of that chump, Uribe and you save another 4.15 mil. That's a total of about 18 mil. Sweeney replaces Pods, and I think he'll do at least as much as Pods has done this season, certainly hit more than 3 HR's. Hate to keep Anderson but I don't see an alternative. BMac will take over Garcia's spot. That leaves SS open for a quality player who can be aforded about 15 mil. I know it would break the bank but Miguel Tejada could help a ton here. How much is he? He's getting 11.8 mil this year, a PHAWKING bargain. But I think he'll be asking over 20 mil, that's just too much, IMO. I think Julio Lugo of the DevilRays would be perfect in White Sox garb, and he'd only be at half of what Miggy would get. Who else can we get?
  21. They need to fire Hawk and DJ since it's all their fault, the perfect game, our pitchers not pitching, our hitters not hitting, and Sox losing ballgames at a record pace........Good grief! Mariotti you're an ass-munch.
  22. West Coast trip....no worse than 2 and 4. That's a moral victory in my opinion.
  23. QUOTE(daa84 @ Sep 13, 2006 -> 04:15 PM) i listened to those angels announcers in the first 2 games of the series....they are by far the best ive heard all year They are excellent! I didn't miss Hawk or DJ
  24. Man, I'm seriously drinking the Sweeney kool-aid. That kid looks good out there.
  25. QUOTE(alexgtp @ Sep 13, 2006 -> 03:59 PM) damn.. so close! what a crowd! The Angelinos appreciated a good effort. Nice sports fans..................
