Can you cork a bat in college?
I'm going to sell aluminum bats filled with helium to make them lighter If they cut open the bats there is no way to get caught. No where to find some really dumb college players . . .

If you attack my enemy you are my friend . . .- Can you cork a bat in college?
Is that legal with aluminum bats or are they suppose to remain hollow?- How many people watched it all?
Spurs where on. I'm not watching baseball until the series is finished, ok I'll peak on off nights I'm so disgusted with bumbling, no passion, error prone, play. I swear what I've been seeing in the Central Professional Baseball League (non affiliated) is better. Go Roadrunners! $1.00 parking. $8 tickets. $1.00 beers (Thirsty Thursdays) $2. hotdogs. Great fajitas. The teams are somewhat evenly matched. Beats trying to watch the Sox on mlb.tv- GO SPURS GO!!
Not a sweep, I predicted Texas in 6 (before a Spurs victory over Dallas) no reason to change now. Great to see David Robinson have a good game. He is such a class act, great for a post game interview. Go Spurs- Can you cork a bat in college?
Does anyone know if it's legal to cork a bat in college? They allow aluminum, why not cork one?- So it's only one bat . . .
Why would you need more than 1 bat to be corked? If that bat breaks, you're screwed anyway. You won't get a chance to use the other corked ones. I'm assuming he's going to use it in bp, etc. Why not order three or four and see which one feels best? What if one breaks during pre-game, etc. I heard one of the talking heads say there are companies you can send the bats out to, that a player wouldn't do their own. Amazing. Do you find them in the phone book?- 6-5-03 PTC thread
I made the change. Thank you.- So it's only one bat . . .
The tests are in a MLB states that *only* one bat was corked. OK let's say Shammy only had 1 bat corked, isn't that all the more reason to believe he used it on purpose? According to Shammy, it was a special bat he pulled for bp and exhibitions. If all season you have been looking for that 1 special bat out of 75 or 100 wouldn't it stand out in your mind? Wouldn't you have kept track of it? He never answered when he had it made. If he has been pulling that 1 special bat all season or for multiple seasons he would know exactly which one was corked. Sorry Shammy you're still screwed. The way he's been pouring on the numbers I almost hate seeing him suspended.- PTC Friday June 6, 2003
Frank- Questions
I'm going to start voting for him. That clubhouse would be a lot of fun. Sitting next to the guys he screwed by cheating . . .- Sosa
Yeah right he's going to go through all that trouble for a bp bat which will ruin his tempo during a game. Oh, and it was the only time he ever used it. Tell me another fairy tale. Put a cork and a needle next to his career totals. and isn't this a nice picture of Sammy- HILLARIOUS Article
LOL Thank you Sammee for taking my mind off our Sox- Questions
He had this dog and pony show rehearsed for when he got caught. I took at a peek at his career numbers and he did something in 98. He basically hits 30+ more homeruns?! That aint because he was working on his fundamentals. Some talking head (Dibs?) said he was just voted most popular player in MLB?! I can't believe that but I guess it could have been true, not anymore. If anyone really believes this was the one and only time he ever used an illegal bat and it just happened to be the time it shattered you'll also believe "It wasn't mine I was holding it for a friend" "Really it was the one and only time I had sex" "Really officer I only had two beers" "The checks in the mail etc " I'm figuring 8 games or they make an example out of him.- We are the Cubs.
I'll try and remember that when I'm throwing s*** at my computer (only way to watch the games)- What the hell is Manuel talking about?
He is getting the chance and it failed in game one against te D-Backs. Maybe though through no fault of his own. I was actually thinking on a full time basis- Help!!
- Sammy, Sammmy...
LMAO JR has to be the happiest guy in town. Sox fans have something to smile about- FUCK YOU, ABC!
I liked Rick Telender on Baseball Tonight. I also happened to agree with him. If Shammin' Sammy's story is the truth, he is the world's biggest dumbs*** for not marking that bat. He's an adult, he knew dam well that bat was corked when he went to bat and had the entire story ready to go if he got caught. I would like to know when he started cheating. "White Sox outfielder Albert Belle in 1994." At least they didn't ID Sammy as a White Sox outfielder . . .- Sammy's bat injected
McClelland gave the part of the bat he saw to security, who took it to the umpires locker room so it could be handed over to major league baseball officials. But a Cubs batboy took the other part, and McClelland said he doesn't know what happened to it. He also said that, based on where the cork was, he thinks it was injected, not stuffed in a cavity that had been drilled out. "It had to be injected," he said. "I'm not a scientist, so I'd guess it was injected and solidified." McClelland planned to call in a report of the incident to his supervisor Tuesday night and then send a written report Wednesday morning. After that, all decisions will be up to the commissioner's office. end quote from cnnsi.com Hmmm, injecting a banned substance. He felt like he was at one with his bat. How would you inject cork? Home run call for Sammy Pop the cork! This ones outta here!- Samm'y exucse is already public
I'm betting it was situational. In this at bat he was pretty certain to get a pitch to hit. No reason to use the "hot" bat with no outs and no body on. I'll bet having 3 home runs less than Valentin at this point in the season had him looking for some help. What also is interesting is according to the umpire the cork seemed to be injected not drilled and filled. Seems as if Sammy couldn't stop shooting up.
