  1. the next cubs-sox spring game will be hawk and dj right? cause these guys r awful
  2. anything could happen...did anyone ever think that loaiza would be a cy young contender...b-anderson could win mvp for all we know (not likely) but it could happen...there is not much to stay about this team other than that they are contenders for the division and possible world series contenders depending on injuries, team chemistry, and performance
  3. is the sox pride club worth the 20$ because it says you get mlb radio and get to buy tickets before feb 16?
  4. mine was the first season at new comiskey and all i remember is that we were playing the red sox and roger clemens was pitching

what would be the problem with having some kind of rotation in center and left with anderson, erstad, and pods...and then throwing ozuna and mack in when needed...i dont understand why everyone is jumping off the b-anderson band wagon just because he had a rough rookie season...i remember when crede and garland sucked...everyone just relax spring training hasnt even started yet

QUOTE(winninguglyin83 @ Jan 31, 2007 -> 12:30 PM) Our team is better. Perfect. No But nobody has a perfect team. It's going to come down to Buehrle, Vaz, Contreras, Garland and the fifth starter. The lineup is good enough to win. We saw that in the first half of last season. But if the starters struggle again, especially Buehrle and Jose, like the did the second half of last season, we'll struggle, too. I think the bullpen will be better -- although I think Sisco could be a bust and I'm not convinced Thornton can have another good year like last year. But Jenks, MacDougal and the young guys from the right side have possibilities. Starting pitching will tell the story. true all that matters for our team is pitching and defense
  7. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jan 26, 2007 -> 02:47 PM) I'm not really sure how you can say the White Sox' starting rotation is really any better than Cleveland's. Both have a bullpen that's a question mark the Sox' has much more upside but is still a major question mark and Cleveland's offense is better than that of the Sox. other than CC their starters havent won more than 15 games....cleveland's starters havent really had any success that the sox have had...garland is a 2-time 18 game winner...buerhle has been a cy young contender and has won 15+ games 4 seasons...i dont even no if cc has been a cy young contender yet in his career...and their bull pen is older and full of rejects from other teams...cleveland seems like another version 2000 sox
  8. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Jan 27, 2007 -> 07:23 PM) Cleveland and who do they have for pitching other than CC
  9. i was wondering how fast tickets usually sell out online when tickets go on sale on feb 16...im assuming cubs/sox is prolly as fast as playoff tickets did but wat about half price monday and like new york and boston series any information would be appreciated
  10. honestly it doesnt matter wat kenny williams says because a) buerhle is in a contract year so he needs to pitch well in order to get the money so the words wont affect his performance b. it seems that we arent interested in signing him anyways because if he does has a great season we wont want to dish out the money and long term deal to keep him or if he has a poor season the price would have to be real good for us to take it....so either way buerhle will prolly not be with us next season maybe not even after the all-star break
  11. QUOTE(Hideaway Lights @ Jan 27, 2007 -> 09:46 AM) If you consider 80-85 wins "good", then yes, we will almost certainly be at least "good" this year. No one's saying they are going to suck. People are saying they might be headed for a third place finish with about a .500 record. especially when the AL central will be weaker than last season...90 games might win the division depending on if detroit has a soph slump
  12. 2005 white sox...we owned the city for a year...game 4 of the world series was the greatest day of my life
  13. and who's saying that we are going to suck this year?...seems like weve been doing pretty good even with the years before 2005
  14. we have the pretty much the same core as in 2005 and 2006 and both teams were winners...we just did not produce as much as 2005 in 2006 and played in the best division in baseball....how can we not contend, especially when minnesota is weaker with their pitching and detroit will most likely have a sophomore slump and cleveland still doesnt have the pitching minus CC? the way i see it we are the favorites to win the division and possibly go deep into the playoffs if there is no key injuries.
  15. he didnt add mccarthy over marte because we needed the extra lefty and there was no way to know that marte would be so unclutch. you cant blame the manager for how a team can not play up to expectations. our team era was somewhere in the mid 4's when we are supposed to be a pitching team. the fire wasnt there from the players this year. that is the reason why we didnt win. ozzie is an aggressive manager and that is what you need in baseball these days. manuel was one of the most passive managers i can think of.
