  1. we don't have a single hitter that stands out as a certainty to be successful in the 2-hole, why not put Gordon there. He couldn't possibly have a worse april and may than Alexei
  2. too bad we still have TCQ and just gave him more money from arbitration i have a feeling dayan might never be a starting player for the sox unless we flat out release quentin (his value is horrible because he can't play defense)
  3. I recommend grabbing the podcast of today's episode and just listen to that portion of it, it was pretty heated
  4. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Jan 19, 2011 -> 03:04 PM) About what? Cutler and the Mike Martz offense
  5. Abattacola and Bernstein are going at each other's throats right now on the Score, like a serious toe to toe verbal arguement, this is epic.
  6. QUOTE (Tex @ Jan 17, 2011 -> 09:55 PM) Before I attempt any repairs like this I always ask myself what is the worse thing that can happen if I do the repair? And how likely is that to happen? Then I pay the repair shop. Would you pay $700+ to have that done?
  7. QUOTE (Disco72 @ Jan 17, 2011 -> 09:26 PM) I'm an idiot when it comes to DIY, but why take it to a dealer? If it isn't under warranty (and if you can't DIY), why not take it somewhere else that'll be much cheaper? I've never had a dealer be my best price for repairs. have had bad experience with backyard mechanics/local repair shops which usually resulted in repeated visits Midas quoted me about $570 on this same job, granted it's cheaper but just seems DIY is best option for me
  8. I've checked some videos on youtube, this seems to be a really easy DIY task, any tips or pointers I should know? Should I take my car in to Firestone or Midas and have an alignment done (~$100 or so) after I've replaced both? Basically I took my car in to have it checked out and, well here's a thread I posted on trailvoy.com: http://forums.trailvoy.com/showthread.php?t=82716 Any comments/suggestions appreciated. Dealership wants to charge me about $700 to replace both outer tie rod ends + alignment. Cost of two outer tie rod ends at Autozone is about $140 (total). Judging by the video's I've seen on youtube, it would be literally throwing my money into the trash by paying $700+ to have someone else do it.
  9. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jan 10, 2011 -> 09:30 PM) Stacey King keeps saying 40 inches. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6RTb4LC54fk (incase people missed it the first time)

  11. QUOTE (Knackattack @ Jul 27, 2010 -> 04:29 PM) Because many years of cheap production from Gordo and Huddy is worth substantially more than expensive Jackson, half a year of LaRoche and soon-to-be expensive Johnson. If you have to trade Gordon Beckham, you had better be getting Prince Fielder. Prince Fielder is one player, and you'd be giving up at least Beckham and Hudson, which means you're putting someone at 2B OR 3B that prior to that trade wasn't good enough to play everyday for your team, so you're doing addition by subtraction to a point. Also, let's say you get to the world series (a score listener made a good point): Either Fielder or Kong won't be playing 4 of those 7 games. My proposed deal (let's add in LaRoche as well, for arguements sake), makes you more versatile all the way around the infield and deep into the playoffs, world series, and 2011 (Johnson, and Jackson's contracts lasts through 2011 and become FA/ARB in 2012, LaRoche has a 2011 mutual option)
  12. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Jul 27, 2010 -> 04:26 PM) f***.no. If the DBacks throw in Adam LaRoche, do you bite if you're the Sox? Also, give reasons please
  13. Would you guys do this trade (and do you think the DBacks would bite?) Gordon Beckham + Daniel Hudson for Edwin Jackson + Kelly Johnson? You keep your Vizquel/Viciedo/Teahen TriPlatoon at 3B for the rest of the year, or until the playoffs, you get a left-handed hitter with a decent OBP & Pop playing where Beckham was, and you have a rotation going into the playoffs that's pretty solid, and your 2011 rotation would be pretty ridiculous, and you have Johnson locked up for 2011 as well Edit: This also allows you to keep the DH spot a swinging door between Quentin/Konerko/Viciedo or whatever versatility Ozzie wants

I will try to clean up the video quality later, youtube compressed the quality since I uploaded it via my phone
  15. get the pen up, jfc...
  16. Wow, I called that one.. 10 f***ing pitches to CROWE? Nice job, Danksy.
  17. Danks throws too many pitches, he gives even bad hitters too many looks IMO. Even bad teams can figure out what kind of pitch is coming if you repeat your delivery 6-7 times per AB.
  18. QUOTE (jeffro2525 @ May 8, 2010 -> 07:43 PM) We need to get some more runs here. Cecil has no command, and is working behind everyone. We have scored 3 runs. thats why theyre 7.5 back
  19. you guys are going to beat yourselves up a lot this year if you keep thinking "oh they'll turn it around!", bad baseball team all around
  20. QUOTE (fathom @ May 5, 2010 -> 07:53 PM) How deep was Rios fly out? he hit it hard, but it was off the end of the bat alex is seeing the ball right now like nobody else in the lineup except maybe kong
  21. so, Kenny said Teahen is a real 3B. but he isn't. what does this mean? Kenny cant properly evaluate talent?
  22. good vibes in the dugout it seems
  23. just me or is jake not calling off aj tonite?
