8/25 Gm. 1 - SOX vs./@ BAL, 5:05 CT, CSN
QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Apr 28, 2008 -> 12:07 AM) Didn't see this posted yet, but Paulie delivered a great quote: “(Monday) is the type of game that good teams that want to go to the playoffs win.” great, let's say a little too much so we can throw the entire soxtalk boards into a hissy fit for the next two months after we lose tomorrow !

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Apr 27, 2008 -> 03:49 PM) How'd Dotel look? slider wasn't moving much, but he got a flyout (first pitch swinging), and a strike out with primarily fastballs with late movement on them, he looked pretty good

Carlos Quentin
Sox win today, 6-1 Quentin 2-2, 1 BB, 1 HBP .288avg .435obp .562slg (.996ops) i want him hitting 3rd

nice throw by OC, he had as much mustard on that throw as he's had all year on anything that I've seen

4/27 - SOX vs. BAL, 1:05 CT, CSN
first pitch fly out to swisher, it was a slider that didn't move hardly at all, it was just flat

QUOTE (JorgeFabregas @ Apr 27, 2008 -> 02:52 PM) I'm not saying that ALL his hbps have to do with his stance. Everyone gets hit once in a while. I'm saying the fact that he's going to lead the league in HBPs DOES have to do with his stance. i was only talking about today and yesterday's games, those balls sailed right into him wildly i'll agree that his stance has to do with it partially, as well as his decision to take a HBP to get on base vs diving out of the way

QUOTE (JorgeFabregas @ Apr 27, 2008 -> 02:45 PM) Craig Biggio - one hbp per 43.8 plate apperances, career Carlos Quentin - one hbp per 22.7 plate apperances, mlb career. Plus he led the minors in hbp for two years in a row. I'm sure his stance (elbow close to the plate, gigantic back turned towards pitcher) has NOTHING to do with it. tonight, it didn't. are you watching the game? it has more to do with his decision to not drop to the ground or try to avoid a ball sailing towards him than anything to do with his stance or his back turned towards the pitcher.

QUOTE (WilliamTell @ Apr 27, 2008 -> 02:35 PM) CQ is such a magnet, plus he has a close stance. the pitches he's been hit by aren't even close to being over the plate, they're right into the middle of his back, nothing to do with his stance or how close he stands to the plate (which isn't all that close, really) they were just wild pitches that sail right into him

19 RBI's for Carlos, his last two were HBP's with the bases juiced. Meanwhile, his OBP is just climbing to astronomical levels, and he's now hitting .288

aj, cant you take a slider instead of swinging at every one of them? sheesh..
-
4/27 - SOX vs. BAL, 1:05 CT, CSN
he's gonna come back inside AJ
-
4/27 - SOX vs. BAL, 1:05 CT, CSN
OC steals 3rd, i like the fire this team seems to have today, that win last night couldn't have been bigger for this team bases juiced for AJ, i'd rather see Quentin up in this situation, maybe we will though

QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Apr 27, 2008 -> 02:14 PM) macdougal can do that just fine MacDougals strikes get hit hard, if and when he does throw them. Wassermans strikes get called balls because the Umpire is blind as f***.
-
4/27 - SOX vs. BAL, 1:05 CT, CSN
ump not picking up wassermans pitches, they were all strikes except for one (the second pitch), total BS.

Carlos with a heads up play, scores the 4th run. He is the best player on this team right now.

quentin is RIDICULOUS
-
4/27 - SOX vs. BAL, 1:05 CT, CSN
this team is homerun or nothing, so hard to keep watching this team blow opportunity after opportunity when there are runners in scoring position, such a joke.

4/27 - SOX vs. BAL, 1:05 CT, CSN

-
4/27 - SOX vs. BAL, 1:05 CT, CSN
Jesus they are hitting ridiculously hard shots off Jose now, he won't be in the game long tonight at this rate.

i'd rather see alexei at 2B everyday instead of uribe, the drop in defense probably wouldn't be that huge, and alexei actually shows patience at the plate, that's just me though. alexei needs regular at bats, either up here or in AAA, sitting on the bench is a waste.
