  1. Brian Anderson is just a bad baseball player.
  2. alexei is a player
  3. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Jun 21, 2008 -> 12:18 AM) So in 34 games this season, you have seen him pitch in 3 games? Because thats how many games he has given up a HR. If thats the case, you really have to room to comment. he's given up 3 homeruns in his last 5 outings. but yeah, that's good. oh, and those games of the last 5 that he's given up the longball, he's given up our lead WITH those homeruns.
  4. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jun 20, 2008 -> 04:15 PM) Sox inabilty to get guys over and the pen just HORRID! i hope ozzie stops giving Dotel a ROLE. seriously. everytime i watch this guy pitch, he gives up a f***ing homerun. I'd rather watch Thornton face a righty than Dotel right now. at least thornton's splits are about the same vs righties and lefties, and he has a lot more velocity behind his pitches
  5. I keep telling myself "The twins aren't good" unfortunately, they keep proving me wrong. I no longer think that team isn't any good lost a game in the standings today, and if we lose tomorrow we'll probably lose another one. they seem to be on a roll right now.
  6. QUOTE (BearSox @ Jun 20, 2008 -> 03:45 PM) Anderson had a real crappy AB earlier in the game where instead of driving a ball high on outside to the right-center gap, he tried pulling it and grounded out to short. Man, that pitch was screaming to go to the right center gap to as it was a nothing pitch. he's just not a smart hitter unlike CQ
  7. QUOTE (ChiSox35 @ Jun 20, 2008 -> 03:34 PM) 2/3 from them still can deflate them after that Tampa series, but the nature of this victory (come from behind/walkoff) will negate some of that... Damn, I really wish ANY of our hitters could move runners over. I think Anderson, Swisher, Ramirez, and Quentin had leadoff or 1 out doubles. Pathetic. Dotel may be having a decent season but I get nervous everytime he's put in a big spot with a small lead. He reminds me of another clown from our bullpen's past. I don't really put this on Ozzie as much as I do our "offense". because it seems like all of the hits he gives up are bombs instead of singles
  8. typical way for the cubbies to start things off, a BS dribbler for a base hit. unreal.
  9. cq put good wood on the ball there, even though it was just a deep fly out hopefully danks can go 1-2-3
  10. [brenley]: To me, the White Sox are a very good off-speed hitting team. lolrly
  11. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Jun 20, 2008 -> 12:05 AM) The same Nick Swisher that sports a 1.244 OPS in 15 career ABs vs Ted Lilly? i just got aroused
  12. QUOTE (Felix @ Jun 19, 2008 -> 10:19 PM) That leads me to believe he's questioning whether its bigger than any series any Chicago team has been in during the regular season. If I'm right in this assumption, I definitely think that any of the series down the stretch in '05 were much more important. another sox fan putting undeserved relevance into the sox/cubs rivalry this series isn't anymore important than the pirates series we just finished, we need to win to keep the twins in second place there's nothing more important about it, and no other underlying themes that need to be examined. let the media do all that garbage
  13. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jun 19, 2008 -> 03:25 PM) His career numbers against us are pretty brutal. you're right about that http://mlb.mlb.com/stats/individual_player...itSplit1=vsTcha but he's a decent pitcher, he knows what he's doing, and going from a series where pitchers are just absolutely terrible to one where you're facing guys that are pretty decent, sometimes can be trouble for hitters
  14. good game, good series, but this is how you SHOULD handle teams like pittsburgh when you're going into the series 7 games over .500 and leading your division by 4.5 games Lilly will give this team fits tomorrow i have a feeling..
  15. lefty that throws breaking balls? hopefully we can take 2 out of 3 tomorrow.
  16. wise is in the starting lineup tonight, per the score..
  17. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jun 16, 2008 -> 01:11 AM) The Sox are 38-31, which is a .551 winning percentage, or an 89 win pace. The DBacks are 37-33, which is a .529 winning percentage, or an 86 win pace. The Sox aren't the worst first place team and so "knowing" it is more like "thinking" it, because statistically, the Sox are only the second worst first place team in all of baseball. Hope you sleep better at night having learned this knowledge. i was not speaking relative to win/loss record, but more towards the flawed design of our offense, as well as our hitters inability to adjust to soft-tossing lefties and crush anything that isn't a fastball arizona has a pretty well-rounded offense, they can score off the homerun and manufacture runs. this team seems to be shut-down rather easily, and has become more and more frequent despite facing teams that the rest of the league has no problems with.
  18. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 15, 2008 -> 11:01 PM) If Carlos Quentin doesn't start getting two hits a night again and hitting gappers and homers, we are in deep s***. Five of six losses, lethargic play against the Rockies. how does it make other sox fans feel to know we're the worst 1st place team in all of baseball? personally, it makes me feel like sh** and lately i'm just in a bad mood and it's reflecting while i'm at work as well, i mean i can't help that i absolutely LOVE baseball and I love the sox, i don't care how bad they're playing... i'll never change how much i love this team, but at the same time, i wear my sox emotions on my sleeves and it sucks this team is just baseball retarded when it comes to hitting a baseball, and honestly they've been this way for quite some time..
  19. beanball time, guys.
  20. this team is just fundamentally baseball retarded when it comes to hitting the 2008 white sox are THE most offensively inept team in all of major league baseball, i've never seen in my whole life a team that is so flawed with their hitting approach at this level of the game, seriously a veteran+youthful lineup that cant put the ball in play off changeups and can't lay off sliders off the plate? off a guy with an 8+ ERA? are you f***ing kidding me? and this is not the first time this year, or last year, or in 2006 for that matter, that this has happened either. guys who throw either left-handed, or throw junk.. rarely for strikes, are the kind of underachieving MLB pitchers that this team makes look like Cy Young candidates. how many times this year have we heard from Farmer, Stoney, Hawk or DJ "Ignore this guy's ______ ERA (replace with a number over 7), he's not as bad as he looks." no f***ing sh*t he isn't, we're swinging at every possible BAD pitch in this guys arsenal and can't read the ball out of his hand when it's a hittable pitch! when you have that kind of approach, EVERY BAD pitcher is going to look like his numbers are being misconstrued! why isn't this EXACT, word for word, concept brought up to the coaches or management/FO of this team? this seems like something that is destroyed in a players early years and only gets worse as they progress once again, as this couldn't be said ENOUGH IMO: we were shut down by a TERRIBLE 8+ ERA pitcher tonight. no other team in baseball that I've seen is this consistently terrible at hitting when it comes to pitchers that you're SUPPOSED to knock around unreal.
  21. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Jun 12, 2008 -> 08:04 PM) Hard to believe this championship team can go from dominating seven straight to all of sudden rolling over for three. Inconsistent, but at least we are in 1st place and you hope things become more consistent with the win streaks. You can't win em all, but you sure can wish you could. bosox got swept by seattle last year, and toronto, and they were probably teams that weren't any worse than the tigers are this year just sayin
  22. twins lost along with us, man don't do us any favors twinkies, sheesh! haha still 5.5
  23. has lofton even swung a bat this year?
