Nate Jones
Went on the DL last pitching in late April with "Right elbow neuritis". From a little research it seems that rest is the first course of treatment followed by surgery if the condition does not resolve itself. Anyone have any more insights into how he's doing and what's up?

Nationals acquire Doolittle/Madson from As
QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jun 11, 2017 -> 09:41 PM) Given the leaked trade that almost went through in December, it's unlikely we even get Soto Unless we're sending multiple pen pieces - which we can absolutely afford to do.

Nationals acquire Doolittle/Madson from As
QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jun 11, 2017 -> 07:29 PM) How to get Robles (without giving up prospects or Q) 1. Trade Robertson, Swarzak, Kahnle, Petricka, Putnam, Southpaw, Big Hurt Beer, 50% of Hawk's catchphrases and a deep dish pizza. 2. Tell Rizzo you're actually really serious. 3. No, you're not high. 4. Steal Robles. Post of the decade.

2017 MLB DRAFT
QUOTE (beautox @ Jun 11, 2017 -> 08:56 PM) that means Oakland could possibly pair Puk with McKay, I don't think they could pass on that. What a shocker it would be for McKay to fall to 6... I don't see it.

2017 MLB DRAFT
QUOTE (beautox @ Jun 11, 2017 -> 07:51 PM) I want to believe... Twins - Wright Reds - Greene Padres - Gore Rays - McKay Braves - Lewis A's - Beck D-backs - Smith Phillies - Faedo Brewers - Adell Angels - Bukauskas White Sox - Haseley I think Kendall to Oakland is possible

Draft Prospect Preview: Jeren Kendall
I actually expect the A's to make a surprise pick for him at #6

Draft Prospect Preview: Jeren Kendall
QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Jun 7, 2017 -> 08:39 AM) Its not really his swing mechanics that bother me but his insane k rate and mediocre college production, at least for a top pick. He does certainly come with a low floor. His floor is an elite defensive 4th outfielder with pop. Ceiling is an all-star centerfielder.

QUOTE (turnin' two @ Jun 11, 2017 -> 02:24 PM) I can't wait to see what wacky happenings go on tomorrow. Seems like there is always something out of the blue in the MLB draft. No joke

2017 MLB DRAFT
Going back in time a year, I wish we would have went Rutherford instead of Collins last year. Will be interesting to see how those two play out. This year is so much less protectable past the top... roll the dice and take the best bat with high contact skills regardless of position or age.

Painful and Difficult situation
QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jun 11, 2017 -> 10:05 AM) This is a classic situation where there is no right answer. There are valid arguments on both sides. It'll be very interesting to see how it plays out... starting with where and if he's drafted at all.

Painful and Difficult situation
QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 10, 2017 -> 02:50 PM) See, if you guys want to make the argument that it isn't good to add the guy to your ballclub because he's a child molester, fine. But that is quite different than arguing that he should not "have the privilege" of playing professional baseball. It's fine to have the opinion that a young man who violates a 4 year old girl has no place in professional baseball. It's also fine for you to have a different opinion. This topic is very close to me and I freely admit that my opinion is extreme. I've seen the damage this type of crap has and am very biased against it.

2018 MLB Draft
QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ Jun 10, 2017 -> 12:57 PM) http://www.baseballamerica.com/high-school...RGfvA0gtKOPt.97 Grey is absolutely someone I'd consider with a high pick in 2018. The draft next year as a whole seems far better than this years crop and we're in prime position to take advantage. #TheTankIsOn

Painful and Difficult situation
The guy molested a family member for two years who was 4 years old when it started and 6 years old when it ended. He "touched her on the inside and outside of where she pees." according to the victim at the time she was 6 years old. He was 15 when it started and 17 when it ended. I don't care if he's the next Randy Johnson... I wouldn't let him on my team for minimum wage. Sex offenders like that are in a class unto themselves when it comes to crime. He can have his second chance in another walk of life but I sure as s*** hope his privlage to play baseball is over.

2017 MLB DRAFT
QUOTE (Lillian @ Jun 9, 2017 -> 10:21 AM) My preference is for a potentially big run producer, ideally from the left side, regardless of the position they play... Reading this I thought of Pavin before reading the rest of your post. I just hope they take the best available bat regardless of position or age. At this point my board goes: Haseley Smith Beck Burger Kendall Adell

2017 MLB DRAFT
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 8, 2017 -> 08:14 PM) https://www.yahoo.com/sports/top-ranked-col...-235801741.html Top Oregon State pitcher outed as convicted sex offender from when he was just 15. Wow... molested a girl for two years when she was between the ages of 4 and 6. I'm all for second chances but I also see sex offenders in a very low way. Hope he has a good life helping people and staying on the right path... also hope he never plays in the majors.

Draft Prospect Preview: Austin Beck
My preference is Haseley, Beck, Kendall

Draft Prospect Preview: Austin Beck
QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Jun 8, 2017 -> 01:33 PM) Great lower body action but IMO he could stand to clean up that cocking mechanism somewhat. Good looking athlete. His hands seem to have quieted down depending on what video source you're looking at... this one shows him more consistently stable:

Draft Prospect Preview: Austin Beck
Really love Beck's swing
