  1. QUOTE (heirdog @ Jun 19, 2017 -> 12:38 PM) Gleyber Torres to have TJS https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2017/06/gley...hn-surgery.html He's on the White Sox?
  2. Put me in coach, I'm ready to play... Centerfield.
  3. QUOTE (sin city sox fan @ Jun 18, 2017 -> 03:47 PM) Let's be serious. The market will not give him Bryce Harper type dollars yet (this may change in a year or two if he's not locked up long term) I really think an offer of 8/120 is about FMV at this point and I think he may take it for long term stability. Avi is a future HOFer and I'd hate to see him enter Cooperstown representing another team besides the White Sox. At least someone's being serious around here... finally.
  4. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 18, 2017 -> 12:27 PM) I probably need professional help. We're all in that boat - may we accept it or not :lol
  5. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 18, 2017 -> 12:06 PM) Saddens me. Give it a rest dude... we all know your stance, no need to continually bring about your opposition to this school of thought... even if it is done in a delightfully tasteful complementary way.
  6. That was not a triple
  7. QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 17, 2017 -> 09:13 PM) By the end of tomorrow's games, nine out of the ten worst teams can be NL teams- they kinda already are. If the Sox beat the Blue Jays, they'll have the same record, and they are currently 15th. Oh well. Lots of time left to suck but this week has made me a sad panda.
  8. I believe in Avisail Antonio García Yaguarin.
  9. QUOTE (ChiliIrishHammock24 @ Jun 17, 2017 -> 08:23 PM) :lol: You CAN NOT be serious.
  10. QUOTE (winninguglyin83 @ Jun 17, 2017 -> 08:09 PM) See if you can get them to settle for Viciedo.
  11. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 17, 2017 -> 07:19 PM) And I'm fine with it. To trade him, you better get superstar value for him. Who would have predicted this statement to be valid about 6 months ago
  12. QUOTE (Middle Buffalo @ Jun 17, 2017 -> 07:03 PM) Yep, I was editing while you typed this. I just don't think they should focus on the max they can get for Q or DRob. Throw in another veteran with the idea that it doesn't matter if we "win" the trade. We just want a number 1 prospect. I could see Q + Frazier / Melky and Robertson + Kahnle / Swarzak packages being offered.
  13. July 31st sure will be super interesting this season!
  14. QUOTE (Middle Buffalo @ Jun 17, 2017 -> 06:57 PM) Sox should be packaging DRob with Jones to pull the best prospects from a team. Same thing with Q. Don't worry so much about getting multiple prospects at this point, just offer enough to get the best prospects from other teams. Jones - he hath been on the DL since what... April?
  15. QUOTE (KnightsOnMintSt @ Jun 17, 2017 -> 05:27 PM) I really hope that these guys really start to get more recognition. Stephens has done so well at the Double-A level with a 0.98 ERA through 3 starts. Hickman, not including tonight, with a 1.93 ERA through 3 starts as well. He is also allowing just 1 BB per start. Always nice to have depth, especially considering we already have Giolito, Kopech, Fulmer, Lopez, Dunning, and Hansen. They are the two most underrated players in our system right now IMO but by this time next year, they'll become household names.
  16. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 17, 2017 -> 04:06 PM) https://www.bostonglobe.com/sports/redsox/2...KP8N/story.html
  17. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 16, 2017 -> 11:34 PM) What do you guys have against contending? Nobody ever addresses my comment about trying to win with a real manager. Robin was THAT bad. And Sox brass wasn't ready to give up on Avi yet. Nobody would have wanted him in a trade and if he had another ridicuously bad season they'd just drop him as they did Tank. You keep Sale and Eaton, those are two huge pieces. We are 5 out. What would we be with them?? Like I said even after the Sale and Eaton trades the Sox are technically afloat at just five back. You bring up Moncada and one of the starters the Sox acquired, could the Sox contend? I think our starting rotation is pretty darn bad so I wouldn't bet squat on us contending the rest of the way, but facts are facts. You'll reach a point in life where you realize that some conversations just aren't worth any more continued engagement.
  18. Amazing how far we've come in just a couple of short years.
  19. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 16, 2017 -> 09:37 PM) We're five games out. Had the team tinkered instead of done the so called rebuild we might win the division this year. Sale went 13; Trout was what 23rd? Who gives a flip about the draft? We're five games out and never gave the team a chance with a real manager, not Robin. Yea... shouldn't have asked. Carry on gent.
  20. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 16, 2017 -> 08:36 PM) I agree El Rockin but they disagree with you and me. The rebuilding people don't give a flip who replaces the ones we trade for now. They feel it will just help us lose and losses are what they thrive on now during the so called rebuild. Remember they want us to lose so we get a top three pick. Nevermind that Chris Sale went No. 13 in the draft -- that's right No. 13. Quintana, yay. Winning... poop. You seriously think we'd be better off at a middle order pick in 18 than being able to add someone like Beer or Gray? Oh yea, this is Greg I'm talking to... shouldn't ask.
  21. Kopech must be gassed. Good for him as this is where he starts to grow and mature.
  22. QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 16, 2017 -> 09:08 AM) Marlins-Braves is the only suck vs suck series this weekend. If the Sox somehow swept the Blue Jays, they could go from 4 to 13 in a week. So don't do that. I hope Q throws 8 shutout innings an a no decision loss... starting a 5 game losing streak.
  23. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 16, 2017 -> 12:34 PM) So Jackson is on the Nats and Holmberg on the Sox
  24. What do you like best? Vagina Socks Apples Bath Towels Clouds Other: Please specify
  25. QUOTE (reiks12 @ Jun 15, 2017 -> 09:09 PM) Every case is different however I would say that a lot of these are when the offender wants power and control over something in their lives. As I mentioned earlier it might also be exploring sexuality (seen a lot when teenage boys molest other boys), or maybe they are just plain attracted to children. Most of the time once they are deep into their counseling they discover for themselves what it is they are really getting out of it. Once they figure that out they can start to "heal" themselves. As far as the red flag comments goes, we would have the offenders create safety plans where they would recognize whenever they were about to have thoughts. My group would make a list about ten things they need to be mindful of and 5 things that were extremely high risk. For instance, arguing with mom and dad would be something an offender would have to be mindful of because it could set off a chain reaction of events, or a cycle as we call it. That argument could lead to this teenager shutting out his parents (remember, offenders love control), hiding in his room, watching porn, manipulating, until eventually reoffending. As a counselor it was easy to see who was in a cycle. Some kids would be wearing their coats in the middle of summer (they are hiding something), others just wouldn't bathe (trying to push people away). Some would say outlandish comments to try and get a reaction out of you (pushing away again or 'hey, please ask me what is wrong'. Being able to exit this cycle is crucial and creating this safety plan is a must. So if a teenager is able to say to himself "ok, I am starting to argue, I am going to say OK to this and not let it affect me", then the above scenario not likely to happen. If that kid argues and shuts his door, he has to be aware that he is in a cycle and that he needs to find a way to exit it as soon as possible before things get worse. That is just one example of many, everyone has triggers. For instance when I was quitting smoking I couldn't go on balconies and there were some friends I just couldn't see because I knew I would relapse. If I did happen to be around those friends on a balcony, I would have to figure out a way to either remove myself or have them punch me in the face if i asked for a smoke. Anything not to smoke. The 5 things that were of extreme high risk would be being alone with children at any time, not informing your support team of activities involving minors, lying (power again, lying for whatever reason gives them adrenaline rush), being around computers alone, or having sexual thoughts relating to children. If these events were to trigger than the offender would need to reach out for support. It may sound silly but these lists were INGRAINED in their brains and they lived by them. As strange as that sounds it is the most important thing for these kids because 99% of them WANT to get better. They want to be normal. With all that said, that is why I am concerned with him being alone with minors still. That is the most basic thing they teach these offenders and since it was beaten in his head for 2 years he should know better than that. That is a red flag meaning hes being sneaky about it. Sneaky is high risk. Anyways, sorry if the above is confusing and all over the place. I typed it up fast and there is a lot to say on the topic. Thanks for sharing your insights and experience - I found it insightful and succinct. Cheers ??
