  1. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Jul 12, 2017 -> 06:51 PM) Patience young padawan Are these "p" words you mention like padthai at all? I'm familiar with that but not patience or padawan.
  2. After waiting since December and having that massive tease thrown at us this is getting tough to take
  3. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 12, 2017 -> 05:29 PM)
  4. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jul 12, 2017 -> 05:03 PM) WSD posted a video discussing Jimenez/Cease/Q but I can't tell if it's sarcastic That's just about as serious as me posting about a banana split. Either that or the dude he's sitting next to is a total goof ball.
  5. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 12, 2017 -> 05:20 PM) Rabbit, Are you of the belief that we would never deal Q to the North side? Somewhere in this thread or on twitter he said that's the case ( not dealing )
  6. QUOTE (Enscheff @ Jul 12, 2017 -> 03:20 PM) Really? You honestly think Q's value is going to be higher than it was last off season or this trade deadline? If that offer wasn't available then or now, it won't magically be available this winter. His value is only going to go down as the Sox waste his years/postseasons of control on a losing team. Take it from someone who watched the Braves waste tens of millions of dollars of Teheran's value by letting him pitch for a losing team...Hahn should cash him in now. This past winter another pitcher was the prize, who fetched two blue chippers. Expecting one blue chip prospect for Q is not unreasonable. We've seen reports that a Q deal was set to go down this last offseason but was shot down at the ownership level by the opposing team. Strongly feel we'll get a good young bat ++ for him. There's nothing magical about it. He's worth it.
  7. QUOTE (Enscheff @ Jul 12, 2017 -> 03:09 PM) Demeritte and Riley are garbage. Only the most posi-Braves seriously consider them as players who will ever impact the MLB roster. If I had to guess, I would imagine Coppy has offered 2 pitchers not named Wright (and probably not both Allard and Soroka), plus Pache, plus 1-2 other fungible assets. Hahn has that offer in his back pocket, and if the Yanks, Astros, Brewers, Rockies, or maybe even the Cubs, give in and include an elite position prospect, Hahn jumps. Absent those teams flinching, getting one of Allard or Soroka could very well be the biggest piece available to Hahn. If I were a Sox fan, I would hope he doesn't gamble again on keeping Q in hopes of netting a bigger return at a later date. It almost bit him once already, and he is unlikely to luck out again. I'd disagree with your trepidation of holding onto Q. We'd likely be able to land a top 20 positional prospect ++ in the offseason where Quintana will still have 3 full years of control. Still think we end up with a top 20 position guy ++ before July 31st.
  8. Does it feel like December 2016 all over again to anyone else?
  9. QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Jul 12, 2017 -> 02:11 PM) What don't you understand? You initially said that some of those packages are exciting. I think they're all exciting and that's why the sentiment is that none of the other teams would accept them.
  10. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jul 12, 2017 -> 12:31 PM) I wondered where I got the inspiration. Excuse me while I go consider how to become a contributing member of the Soxtalk community.
  11. QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Jul 12, 2017 -> 02:03 PM) Cool. Well, that certainly clarifies things!
  12. QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Jul 12, 2017 -> 02:01 PM) That isn't very good news. Some of the deals aren't that exciting. I do not understand.
  13. QUOTE (whitesoxwinner @ Jul 12, 2017 -> 01:32 PM) Who says no or do they both do it: White Sox: Quintana Yankees: Frazier, Andujar, Fowler White Sox: Quintana Braves: Acuna, Soroka, Gohara +lotto White Sox: Quintana Brewers: Brinson, Dubon, Phillips +lotto White Sox: Quintana Rockies: Rodgers, McMahon, Lambert It would likely appear that all of the opposing parties are saying no... or we'd likely have a deal made. That said, we won't know for sure for at least another 19 wonderfully slow days. Yay. Here's another question... how far away "prospect power" wise are Tatis Jr. and Eloy?
  14. QUOTE (raBBit @ Jul 12, 2017 -> 11:58 AM) To be fair, I am not getting much done, Ha. I don't think it's possible and really have had a hard time dating back to June and the whole Robert Watch shindig... these next 2+ weeks are going to be brutal. Hopefully there's a flurry.
  15. QUOTE (Username @ Jul 12, 2017 -> 11:48 AM) Miggy was re-assigned to Birmingham oddly enough earlier. Was trying to draw a connection based on rotation turns but couldn't figure it out. Nice username
  16. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jul 11, 2017 -> 10:46 PM) Dude, your shtick is old. Either contribute or get lost. That post was a reference to a twitter user reporting trade rumors related to Quintana who had a user handle of "gay bar tourist". Tweet linked earlier today It's called comedy. Humor. As a moderator I'd suspect that you're supposed to have enough composure to either ignore users who you don't care for or at least abide by the rule of not engaging in a personal attack. Contrary to your statement, I do contribute... have contributed for what... 13 years... and have no intention of getting lost. My personality is not a "shtick" that can be subjected to your arbitrary judgement and presented as objective fact. In this case, my wit likely went over your head and your continued personal disdain towards me lead to you yourself breaking a board policy. Just ignore me. There's plenty of other moderators on the forums who can take me off your hands.
  17. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jul 11, 2017 -> 07:30 PM) Good for him. You plagiarist, you
  18. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jul 11, 2017 -> 10:04 PM) FWIW, a couple Sox fans who I trust vouched for this guy and said that he's given correct intel in the past. If he doesn't work at a gay bar then he doesn't have credibility.
  19. Well, that was ( expectedly ) anticlimactic.... even knowing this, I was still pretty much rendered useless while refreshing like an OCD rapid dog.
  20. Hysterical that Avi is playing centerfield in the all star game. If someone bet on that last year they'd be a millionaire with a one dollar investment
  21. QUOTE (TheTruth05 @ Jul 11, 2017 -> 07:04 PM) Wow it's real now that gay bar tourist confirmed it! Lol Hysterical, huh!
  22. Gold!!!Hot take on Twitter just posted
  23. QUOTE (Feeky Magee @ Jul 11, 2017 -> 05:45 PM) Albies is my favourite of the potential headliners. Blocked at 2B by Moncada, but wouldn't think he's blocked at SS by Anderson after his year, contract or no. Albies, Soroka and Rio Ruiz gets it done for me. Albies - SS Moncada - 2B Anderson - CF ?
  24. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jul 11, 2017 -> 04:02 PM) Which is funny, because it's ultimately three small/mid market teams after him. I'll give Hahn credit, the Brewers & Rockies probably weren't willing to commit the prospect capital this offseason to add a guy like Quintana. Their fast starts and open paths to the playoffs have made them buyers. The Braves have obviously been interested for a while, but hopefully having a few other teams in the mix pushes them to offer something that we'd actually consider. Really surprised the Yankees are sitting on the sidelines for now if the rumors are true. This is getting really exciting and I'm starting to think the Rockies are the team that lands him. He looked incredible in Coors last week, the Rockies desperately need a starter who has the stamina to pitch deep into October, and their front office is a little bit crazy. With a couple key guys only under control for another year or two (Blackmon & Arenado), it's really now or never for them to make a big move with this core. Que the Mr. Burns "muhahahahahah - excellent" meme.

    QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jul 11, 2017 -> 03:59 PM) I've never considered the catcher an infielder, just as I've never considered a pitcher an infielder. You have the battery, infield, and outfield. So for future roster considerations I guess I'll break down positional speculation in those three categories... Infielders Outfielders Batteries Yup... sounds right to me. Thanks guys
