Kinda surprised Leury couldn't score on that single

That's one way to get the first RBI of your career, I guess.
-
Now would be a great time for Vaughn's first career grand slam

Seager with the White Sox defense to help us out

At least Rodon has looked pretty close to lights out tonight. That's really good to see.
-
I don't know if I've ever seen a stretch of 5 consecutive games with defense this bad in my entire time as a Sox fan.

It's obviously still very early but Moncada reverting to his 2018 self would be a major setback

You know, for as much as gets said about Black folks being hesitant to get vaccinated, the majority of them in my family and social circle is basically beating down the door to get it. That's anecdotal, and there are still a lot of fuckin numbskulls in my social circle who still think COVID-19 is caused by cell towers (and not just Black folks obviously), but still.

I am going to get my shot as soon as they accept me. How are your symptoms? I am very nervous about the shots. Any advice on what medications I should have ready as the vaccine takes over the body? Thank u. No lie. I'm nervous about what I've read including the fact 1,200 have died or some similar number.
I think some people won't get the vaccine because they think it's an ominous plot of the government. There are others like me who don't like the idea of purposely putting something in the body that could lay me out for 3 days and may cause lasting symptoms. I sure hope I don't mess up body organs or have hair all fall out in six months. Forgive me. This is a big boy message board and some people in America are scared. Nothing more ominous than that. Just fear.
The first dose (Pfizer) was nothing at all. Sore arm, really not a big deal. The second dose, following morning, I had the flu-like symptoms you probably hear everyone talking about (fever, chills, sore joints, etc) for a few hours, nothing to do really but wait it out. Those are normal reactions, it's your immune system responding to what it thinks is an infection, the day after that you'll probably feel fine. I'd say get some aspirin or ibuprofen and rest, definitely take the day off work if that's possible.
The # of people who've had a severe reaction to the vaccine is something extremely low, like 0.001%, FWIW

I saw this video today that explains it pretty well.
I actually came directly to this thread after watching that video
I had that thought bouncing in my head for a while and the video is what gave me the impulse to write it down (and also to explain it)

It's really an uphill task to convince people that the J&J vaccine isn't necessarily "worse" than Pfizer and Moderna bc of the efficacy numbers. They're really not measuring the same thing and they weren't tested the same way.

Good morning to everyone except Ryan Pace.

Trubisky is not a great QB. He is probably not even a good QB. But we've seen more than our fair share of straight up awful QBs and he really isn't that.

This is fantastic, even though there are still some questions that are going to be impossible to answer (the main one I think everyone has, exactly how much would Josh Gibson have raked?) The inconsistent stat keeping and uneven levels of talent they played shouldn't really be an argument against them because that's like punishing the Negro Leagues again for something MLB did to them. You can say "they didn't face MLB talent" but you can just as easily say "MLB didn't face Negro League talent" right back. Satchel Paige never faced Babe Ruth and Joe DiMaggio but they never faced him either.
So yeah, compiling the statistics and making them apples to applies is kind of a mess, but certainly better than not even acknowledging them at all.

I really thought the deep-in-the-nose COVID test was going to hurt much more than it did. It was more just really unpleasant and I couldn't wait for her to get out of my nose.

4d chess man. They lost so bad on purpose because they want to get to the SC faster.
That's how all the good lawyers do it.
I have seen them literally saying this on twitter

I already have been telling my kids we are in. I probably won’t be first because of prioritization but like you I am pro vaccine. I also assume between all of these companies a ton of analysis is being done etc. I am hoping by March/April my family and I have vaccine in us.
I'm gonna have to talk my wife into getting it because there's some hesitation on her part, but she is also scared to get the virus, so she is gonna have to cave
-
I'll do it, I'm a very pro-vaccine person, I just don't wanna be the first to do it. A lot of my friends are skeptical but Black folks are like that about vaccines because *gestures broadly at Tuskegee experiments, Henrietta Lacks, entire history of the United States, etc*

Lucky enough to have both consoles so far. I like both Sony and Microsoft (I guess I leaned more towards Microsoft in the mid 2000s which I think was the golden era of Xbox) so I don't really have loyalties one way or the other. For Playstation it's all about the exclusives, as it always has been, for Microsoft, Game Pass is amazing. Plus the Series X is def pushing more horsepower (slightly faster SSD on the PS5) so for multiplatform games I'm getting the Xbox versions of most things. The Series X is more powerful than my PC right now (Ryzen 7 2700x with GTZ 1070, so a lot more powerful unless I got like a 3080 or something like that).
Also the PS5 is GIGANTIC. Geeeeeez.

I watched all or part of probably 90% of the games this season, I haven't done anything like that in years. Like I think 2008 was probably the last time I did.

I feel like Ozzie would have to be dragged kicking and screaming into modern perspectives on baseball, a lot's changed since he managed the Sox and he didn't seem to be very receptive to those kinds of suggestions back then either.

yes, the reporter wrote "That injury left the White Sox with significant concerns for the long-term future of a prized pitching prospect"...Long-term future? Of course TJ would be bad news, but nowadays coming back from that surgery 100% healthy is almost certain. Wouldn't exactly consider one season away for a 21 year old pitcher having a major impact on his long-term future.
Significant concern for his SHORT-TERM future, yes. Long-term future? nah. Maybe he is throwing 98.5 instead of 101
-
I hope he doesn't need TJ surgery but that seems to be a rite of passage for all these guys anymore
