I gotta admit I had written Carlos off, but he's back with a vengeance. Love to see it.

A no-hitter is a fucking great consolation prize for a failed perfect game bid, I'll say

Rodon's WHIP is 0.38. Is that good?

How many of these straight up bed-shitting losses are the White Sox going to have this season? They are just making up reasons to lose games.

This strike zone is sort of...bad, for pitchers.
That was a strike RIGHT down the middle and he inexplicably called it a ball. At least it didn't happen to a Sox pitcher this time.

Luis Robert's at-bats have improved drastically in the last few days. His weakness as a hitter (for now) is that pitchers will use his tendency to want to rip everything against him but instead of doing that he's letting them walk him. Just a matter of time before he starts consistently blasting 110+ mph to the gaps again.

Abreus already been a better player he just doesn’t have the counting numbers
I think he would have a shot at the hall if he started the majors at 21 instead of 27 (Paulie is just on the outside of a HOF resume)

I think the Jose Abreu from this Grantland article is probably somewhere between Paulie and Frank.
Sucks we missed out on it.
I remember reading this article when he was signed, that convinced me he was the real deal.
Also, damn, do I miss Grantland. That and the old Deadspin were my go-to sites for everything.

UPDATE: Jose Abreu is still That Dude
Luis Robert drawing walks excites me. If he sees the pitches, he's hitting the shit out of them.

Abreu would have made konerko look pedestrian had he had a full career
I think better, but I don't know about pedestrian, I mean Paulie was no Frank Thomas but his career numbers are pretty damn respectable in their own right.

Leury looking like Brent Lillibridge out there.
-
The passing of the torch from Konerko to Abreu was seamless but sometimes I think about how we are missing a big chunk of Abreu's prime, and his career numbers don't reflect how good he is. That's like ~6 years of .900 OPS, about 200 homers missing.

The Mariners commentary on this granny was priceless.
"His only other home run this year was a grand slam." *crack* "ahhhh, make that 2 grand slams"

I honestly would not be shocked if he never hits a major league Homer. Do you think that's extreme?
I dunno, never say never. Jerry Owens managed to do it, somehow. His swing was just as weak.

This is an off night for Giolito and he's still thrown 10 strikeouts to 1 walk.

Sometimes they do, like Luis Robert, and then they hit a wall they have to get past, like Luis Robert
