Sox playoff chances sit at 100%, 3rd in AL for WS odds
Pretty sure I heard AL on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday; NL on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday. Tried to find confirmation but there’s nothing out there that’s definite. I’m sure the rough schedule/bubble information will be finalized early next week.

Crunching the SoS Numbers
17 games in 17 days never happens in a regular 162-game season? Would you like me to provide about 500 examples? Of course it happens. The rule used to be no longer than 20 days in a row, and that would happen often. Now with the extra four days off, it’s less common.

I’ll go Indians 2-1, so their season series ends 5-5. Not sure that does anything good for the Sox, but that’s my story, and I’m sticking to it.

Maybe re-title thread “Scoreboard Watching/ Playoff Seed Thread” or something like that? Guess the Indians are dropping to 3rd place. 11-0

Singer no-hitter thru 7. 102 pitches, and he’s a rookie in 2020, so...

Indians fall to the 7-seed if they lose. With the expanded postseason, MLB should have just made the top 3 seeds be the division winners, and the next five best records fall in order.

The 6-seed is under.500, because that makes sense.

The Final 17 - Guess the W/L
They had to play the Cardinals a doubleheader, so the Cardinals could get a day off before another doubleheader. So the Twins got an off day before a regularly scheduled off day.

The Final 17 - Guess the W/L
That’s how I see it too. 8-8 the next 16, then they play the last game and somebody wins a game that probably won’t mean anything...especially for the Sox. It would be nice to spoil the Cubs seed in some way, whatever that means with neutral sites.

It would be two games, because short of beating the Indians 3 out of 4 in the final meeting and having a better division record, the Indians win the tie breaker. It would be great if the Sox beat the Twins and Indians 3 of 4 to tie the season series with both, but they have to get the pitching staff in order for the best-of-3.

If it’s anyone, it’ll be the Astros simply because they’ll get the 6-seed for finishing second in a bad division. The Yankees need to go 9-8 for 31-29. They’ll do it.

Nah, 8 AL teams will have at least 31 wins. It may not matter for the Astros since they’ll be gifted the 6-seed, but the Yankees will get there, I’m sure. The Sox magic number over the Orioles and Tigers is 11.

Rest of the way
Yes. While the three division winners would have to play and beat a team in their own division that finished below them.
