  1. QUOTE (gatnom @ Jan 11, 2018 -> 09:41 PM)
    Kind of a broken record here, but I think it's talent more than anything. They've just got nothing.

    Dosunmu helps next year, but they need to find about 5 other legit players.

    If none of the freshmen turn into legit players outside of Frazier then Underwood is awful at evaluating players.

    I think Smith and Damonte will be fine players when it's all said and done. They've both shown flashes this year.

  2. QUOTE (JenksIsMyHero @ Jan 11, 2018 -> 09:27 PM)
    My enthusiasm for Underwood is officially wavering.

    He needs to give the team HGH so they don't get outrebounded by the guys so much bigger than them. The team just has absolutely no size and Finke shooting 0% from 3 in big ten play has rendered him absolutely useless.

    Replace Finke with a transfer Center, replace Alstork with Ayo, and let all everyone grow a year. I'll officially lose enthusiasm if we don't make the tournament next year.

    So there have been some rumblings that there is a myster candidate with the Bears. If there is, we may never know, but I'm going to guess it is Chris Peterson or Shaw.

    If it's Shaw my guess is that it is partially tied with him coaching with Fangio before. Would just be an awful hire if true.

    You paid no taxes? I have most of my money in bookmaker. They have bitcoin withdrawals up to 25k. Bovada allows 9.5k in bitcoins.

    I have never done a check, always bitcoins if I do it. The market is a bit too volatile at the moment to pull money into bitcoin. I might try a significantly more stable crypto.

    edit: 50K a week, 100K a month.

    That type of volume would surely get the IRS snooping around.

    Yeah, I paid no taxes. But yeah, that type of volume would for sure get them snooping around.

    I've been sports betting for about 5 years now. I probably became a degen in the last two though. It has its ups and downs but I have actually done really well with it. I can only do my research and place my bets. People that get emotional will lose all their money, so I have to learned to keep my cool.

    I started with $50 bucks and now I have multiple accounts with a good amount of money in each of them.. My only problem is, withdrawing at this point since online sports-books are technically illegal. I am trying to avoid taxes on it as well. =)

    I've been able to withdraw around 12k from bookmaker and betdsi over the years. Usually checks from 1000-2500. I've never had a problem depositing. Also withdrew about 1500 from bodog ( when it was bodog) and never had issues. You should be okay.

    I just noticed this. As if seeing the Cavs vs GSW finals 3 years in a row wasnt enough, NBA decided to schedule the same matchup 3 years in a row on Christmas. They really need to come up with something better for the general audience.

    There really is nothing better than that matchup for the majority of NBA fans, in my opinion. Two best players in the world that play the same position on the two best teams in the NBA and it seems like the teams legit dislike each other. By far the most intriguing matchup.

    NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

    We need to lose. We should lose every game. I dont want to see a single win from today until the end of the season

    Neither. For me its Bagley. There is just something about him. Ill need some more tape on Ayton before I start saying who my 2nd is.

    I think Bagley is the universal #1 right now. I think his question was if the Bulls had the second or third pick.

  8. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Nov 30, 2017 -> 01:32 PM)
    Why? Shaw is a very charismatic, high character, proven head football coach (at college) but he also has extensive experience at the pro level (as an assistant). His overall style fits the Bears legacy well and likely resonates with the McCaskeys (to go along with his character). Hard nosed football, runs a pro offense at stanford, strong defense...overall an offensive mind whose overall style should resonate with the general Bears fan base. Not only does it resonate, I think it fits with the weather we play in and the direction of the type of team we've built. Pound and ground football leveraging a lot of playaction, roll-outs, etc, so not totally boring. Leveraged McCaffrey as a RB who could do a ton in the screen game (so some dynamics to the offense) but someone who is going to flat out lead and drive a physical football team (which plays with discipline). I also think his level-headedness fits in well as the head coach.

    There's nothing in his past that indicates he could help Tribusky develop at all. He is also very conservative. He seems like the offensive equivalent of Lovie without the pedigree as an NFL coordinator.

  9. I'm wondering if Underwood is going to have to change his defense with these new rule changes. Getting called for a million fouls completely changed the flow of the game and let Moore stay out there for long stretches. Also stopped the transition points the Illini were getting early because they were inbounding the ball after made free throws on every possession.

  10. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Nov 27, 2017 -> 09:13 PM)
    LeBron pretty much dominated Ben Simmons tonight. I just don't get this dude. Almost 33 years old and 15 years later and he's still the best in the game by far. He's arguably having his best year. Think about that s***. Nuts. Doesn't make any damn sense.

    Maybe his best offensive year, but even then I don't think so. He takes a ton of plays off on defense now, which is reasonable, but I think it stops him from having his best year ever.

  11. QUOTE (bmags @ Oct 26, 2017 -> 08:27 PM)
    I’m with Russ. Bird in hand worth two in the bush. This is a big damn country full of good basketball players. Plenty of pipelines to open up with right assistants. Losing a single AAU program isn’t a deathknell.

    The Illini have a bird in the hand already. They were shooting for Ayo and a future of Okoro, Miller, and Whitney (the first two whom I would be pretty surprised if they didn't end up at Illinois) instead of THT and nobody. If it was just Ayo's family doing this, I would have taken THT probably. Since it looks like the Irvin's are behind it, you can't side with THT IMO.

  12. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Oct 26, 2017 -> 07:22 PM)
    Hope he kills it there, great classy kid that honestly Illinois didn't deserve with the way they treated him.

    Love what your coach has done in recruiting, really impressive.

    He'll probably be my favorite non-Illinois player in all of college. Just an awful situation. I hope he destroys and makes the league. His mom seems classy too.
