  1. QUOTE (chw42 @ Oct 17, 2017 -> 10:28 PM) Dodgers are hitting like crap with RISP. I'm still so un impressed by the bottom half of their lineup, they are probably good vs splits, but it does not look like a 104 win lineup, even with Seager.
  2. QUOTE (chw42 @ Oct 17, 2017 -> 10:15 PM) Darvish is awful the 4th time through the order. He's probably done after 6 anyhow. That's why you should have pinch hit for him, you have to take him out soon, and a Granderson XBH potentially ends the series. They got a run either way and Dervish finished the 6th so it worked out fine.
  3. QUOTE (chw42 @ Oct 17, 2017 -> 10:07 PM) lmao Carl Edwards really can't throw a strike to Yu Darvish? It seemed like a stupid decision to bat Darvish there, but Roberts may be vindicated as long as he doesn't get rocked in this inning. Edwards was just throwing too hard, but can't blame Maddon too much, that's still his 2nd best reliever.
  4. QUOTE (fathom @ Oct 17, 2017 -> 07:38 PM) If only Astros had traded for a charismatic reliever with a great changeup and closer experience You mean the guy who gave a bases clearing double?
  5. Some games you can question the manager's bullpen usage, some games his top 3 pitchers get smoked and there is nothing he could have done.
  6. Devenski must be worn down from the season, he was unhittable all year
  7. QUOTE (fathom @ Oct 17, 2017 -> 03:42 PM) Hate that wind is howling out at Wrigley this week. Yu gives up a lot of flyballs It's not projected to be too windy, over under is only 8. Not as extreme as the 2015 NLDS
  8. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 17, 2017 -> 03:30 PM) Even if you divided up the market with a very minor share, it is still bigger than lots of other places. The NYC metro area is estimated at right about 20 million. Even if you divided it up with an extreme share say 5/8 Yankees, 3/8 mets and 1/8 New Team, that still leaves them with 2.5 million people to choose from which is bigger than KC Metro at 2.15 million, and Cleveland at a touch over 2 million. That is how big that market is when compared to everyone else. Would approval from the Yankees or Mets be needed for that? I know it was a big thing when the National's started so close to Baltimore
  9. A perfect example of media spin I read today "Monday night football ratings plummet to season low as league meets with players in NYC over social issues!" It was a bad Indianapolis team vs. Nashville. Meanwhile the previous 4 weeks saw New York, Chicago, DC, and the Cowboys, leagues most popular team. Of course they dropped.
  10. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 17, 2017 -> 02:37 PM) Another pretty radical, yet common sense idea for expansion... Add another team to the NYC market. If you divide the entire metro area by just the Mets and Yankees, it is still MUCH bigger than pretty much any other teams solo market place. Dividing that market up again might do more for rebalancing finances in baseball than anything else. I'm not so sure people would be so quick to support a 3rd team in NY. You have so many life-long allegiances to the teams there, I don't know if people would just jump on the bandwagon of a new team, unless you give them a playoff berth every year.
  11. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Oct 17, 2017 -> 02:49 PM) Just call them the New Jersey something or others. Hockey has 3 teams in the NYC area, I'm sure baseball could do the same. And 2 of those 3 teams are bottom 5 in attendance, so not the best example.
  12. QUOTE (iamshack @ Oct 16, 2017 -> 07:51 PM) Very misleading. It scared the crap out of me when I saw it on Twitter, I had to share the fun with you guys!
  13. @MarkPotash: BREAKING NEWS: #Bears and Fox announce 5-year extension: https://t.co/EfCpzhWRaN
  14. QUOTE (WilliamTell @ Oct 15, 2017 -> 09:32 PM) Please tell me you're referring to David Johnson? Eric Berry, one of the best Safeties is done too. Yes, that's who I was referring to. You can debate between him and Bell, OBJ and Brown, etc. Point being there is some major star power on the sidelines this season.
  15. QUOTE (chw42 @ Oct 15, 2017 -> 10:00 PM) lol Maddon. Why are you saving Wade Davis? I thought Maddon was beyond that kind of management, but I guess not. It really is mind blowing. Yes, the offense is struggling , but you have to get your best pitcher on the mound.
  16. QUOTE (fathom @ Oct 15, 2017 -> 09:30 PM) Barnes been just awful at the plate There's no way Grandal is that much worse against LHP.
  17. Have we confirmed that Joe Blanton is not on the Dodgers roster anymore?
  18. QUOTE (whitesoxjr27 @ Oct 15, 2017 -> 08:09 PM) It's still early. Hopefully the Dodgers can score. The Cubs bullpen is currently a wasteland, so it's never really over. I doubt Davis has 7 outs in him again.
  19. QUOTE (fathom @ Oct 15, 2017 -> 08:06 PM) Russell doing what he does best, hit. Dodgers offense has let Lester off the hook with nothing on his pitches Hernandez, Barnes, Forsythe, Culberson. Half their lineup is just bad. I know Seager is hurt, but I still couldn't believe that's their lineup.
  20. This Dodgers lineup vs. LHP without Seager looks pretty tame. Almora's glove is very nice.
  21. ATVs and snowmobiles can be such bad news. Best wishes to his family.
  22. QUOTE (Tony @ Oct 14, 2017 -> 06:20 PM) Astros are a very, very good baseball team. And they really should have Kris Bryant
  23. QUOTE (Brian @ Oct 15, 2017 -> 02:21 PM) Broken collarbone for Aaron Rodgers. The league's best quarterback, running back, wide receiver, and pass rusher out for most of the season.
