  1. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jan 9, 2012 -> 09:27 AM) He whooped the Bears butt in the 4th quarter. Yes, it was due to the prevent and while they shouldn't have won (Marion Barber says hello), he was pretty money from middle to late 3rd quarter on. He definitely made some plays at the end of that game, none as big or as good as yesterday. It took him 58 minutes to get on the scoreboard. Plus, in that game there were so many other factors that contributed to the Broncos victory. Barber's mental f***-up, his fumble, Prater's super long clutch field goals, Hanie's inability to throw a football which limited the Bears offense. Yesterday, all those things went against the Broncos, and yet Tebow threw for 300+ to help them prevail. Their defense blew a 14 point lead to a team that struggles to score on the road, McGahee had that costly fumble, the awful whistle on the Steelers lateral.
  2. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jan 9, 2012 -> 08:54 AM) So, what's going on with Wisconsin? I thought they were right behind OSU for best in the conference? Jordan Taylor was a 2nd team All-American last year. Right now he might not even make 2nd team All-Big Ten.
  3. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 9, 2012 -> 08:10 AM) leahysean Sean Leahy Tim Tebow didn't have a 300-yard passing game all season, until the first game of the playoffs against the No. 1-ranked Steelers defense. The Steelers averaged 171.9 passing yards against per game. Tebow threw for 185 in the 2nd quarter. Way to go Ike Taylor.
  4. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jan 8, 2012 -> 09:05 PM) The worst part is that jesus actually played well. No magic bulls***, the f***er actually played a good game. I think it's better that way personally. No matter how he plays, the media will hype it as a Tebow-led victory. I'd rather it be true, then be like the Bears game where he did little to nothing and yet got tons of praise. I'll give the kid credit, the Steelers said we dare you to beat us with your arm, and he did.
  5. If Theo ran the Bulls, they would have 10 NBA titles by now
  6. Angry Boys just keeps getting more ridiculous
  7. QUOTE (DrunkBomber @ Jan 8, 2012 -> 07:54 PM) Well I will give Tebow credit, he made enough plays to win instead of needing random miracles and mistakes from the other team. The Steelers looked really unprepared for this game. The injuries hurt them, but I think they were prepared. They ran the exact same gameplan KC did last week. KC's corners were good enough to cover the Broncos receivers, but the Steelers CBs weren't. They kept stuffing 8 or 9 in the box and depending on man coverage. Their corners got burned, especially Ike Taylor. Tebow is better at the deep ball then short passes and he beat them.
  8. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 8, 2012 -> 07:25 PM) Tackle the damn guy. He went 80 bloody yards. I think the rule is as good as it can be. Better htan the artificial college starting points, and if this game started on a touchback, the Broncos could have gone 35 yards and kicked a FG to win. I agree that the rule is good. FG kickers in the NFL have become so money, you only have to go 30 or so yards to get into FG range. As the Bears learned, Prater is good from 60+ at that stadium, the Broncos only needed to get just past the 50 to get in his range. Of course, that point is moot since the Steelers trusted their CBs to not leave the WRs so wide open.
  9. Tebow does throw a decent long ball, but those short throws are such wounded ducks it's just funny.
  10. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jan 8, 2012 -> 02:42 PM) Giants also have a good front 4, if they can get pressure it makes it harder for GB to spread the field, go empty, etc. Yup. Tuck/Pierre-Paul/Ueminyora/Kiwanuaka & co. can make life hell for a QB. Rodgers has been great all year at reading defenses and finding the open WR very quickly, so should be interesting.
  11. QUOTE (zenryan @ Jan 8, 2012 -> 02:35 PM) and part of that perfect game requirement would be less than perfect weather conditions. That is true if they can run the ball like they have today, during the season they were awful. However, part of the reason they are a tough matchup is that they can throw down the field to Cruz/Nicks/Manningham in a shootout, so they don't need bad weather.
  12. Out of the 3 potential 2nd round opponents, the Giants are definitely the toughest matchup for Green Bay. That being said, it would require a perfect game out of them to win in Lambeau.
  13. QUOTE (SOXOBAMA @ Jan 7, 2012 -> 10:58 PM) Classic defense vs. offense. Can't get any better than that. I have every confidence in our defense to hold the Saints offense. That Lion's D was horrid. Go 49ers!!! If the game was in NOLA, the 49ers would have no chance, but outdoors on grass I can't count them out. In the Saints last seven games, 5 have been in the Superdome, 1 in the Metrodome, and only one outdoors. In that outdoors game they only scored 22 and barely beat the Titans.
  14. 3-1 in the B1G somehow. Tuesday night in Champaign is gonna be ugly.
  15. QUOTE (Brian @ Jan 7, 2012 -> 09:57 AM) Read that the Cubs maybe on the verge of sending Soriano and money to Baltimore for Brian Roberts. But it is Phil Rogers suggesting it so take it for what its worth. Feels like Brian Roberts has been headed to the Cubs for years now.
  16. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jan 6, 2012 -> 06:51 PM) My question is what is the Padres' angle here? They really, really like Cashner? They also just traded for Alonso, have Kyle Blanks & Jesus Guzman, so Rizzo has nowhere to play. Also, read somewhere that Alonso's gap power is better suited for Petco than Rizzo's home run power, or something like that.
  17. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jan 6, 2012 -> 06:48 PM) Hmm....coincidence? Well the "MilkMan" does deliver...
  18. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 6, 2012 -> 03:44 PM) Enjoy. I figured "I've seen Atlanta recently enough". Sounds like Atlanta is the Detroit of the Southeast?
  19. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Jan 6, 2012 -> 03:31 PM) I actually think KW has done a better job at rebuilding than Theo has which I know on this site is blasphemy. The cubs could be epically bad this year if they move Garza. I enjoy hating on Theo as much as the next guy, but you can't judge anything on the 2012 season. Everyone knows they will be bad, there was no way around it after Zell & Hendry went all in. Everything he does now is with an eye on 3 years from now, so until then it's hard to judge much. He's never had to rebuild like this, so we will see what happens. He found young talent in Boston, but he also inherited a playoff team and had boatloads of money.
  20. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 6, 2012 -> 03:20 PM) The Bulls fans for game 6 last June were at least as loud as the Hawks fans. Atlanta & Miami...where pro sports crowds go to die
  21. Paul Sullivan @PWSullivan Jed says Rizzo will start the year at Triple A Iowa and LaHair will be starter at 1B
  22. Isn't the PCL the league where every park is a ridiculous hitters park and everyone's hitting numbers are inflated? Awfully impressive for your OPS to jump from .810-.830 range to 1.056 when moving up to AAA.
  23. Padres gave up on Rizzo quick. Its very amusing to me when GMs/scouts switch jobs, then just start signing & trading for all the players from their old team.
  24. QUOTE (SOXOBAMA @ Jan 6, 2012 -> 12:26 PM) have the longest playoff win drought in their division
