QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 19, 2008 -> 03:36 PM) If they would have fired Walker, they probably would be hitting .400 this month. Probably... Unless we keep on doing this for the rest of the season, Walker needs to go. Inconsistency sucks.

We better have some fuel left in the tank for the Cubs. We've been crushing the ball this week, it should carry over. Then, we'll have a week of offensive futility. That's the way it's been for the last couple of weeks...

If Gavin's goes 5 and holds this lead, I'm happy.

QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Jun 19, 2008 -> 01:50 PM) G-Floyd needs a nice 1-2-3. The offense just got him back in the game, he better be grateful.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 19, 2008 -> 01:27 PM) Gavin has got to pitch over this... Sox pitchers have a lot of trouble pitching over errors, I don't blame them. When you have to get 4 outs with men on base, it ain't easy. Pablo Ozuna better go 4-4 with 5 RBIs today to stay on this team. He got lazy on that play, he could of went to first, Chavez was running down the line.

Pablo must die, he botched a routine play.

Floyd better have his good stuff, we might be in for a long afternoon from what I've seen so far in the bottom of the first.

Ewww...a lefty we've never seen before. *Gulp. What's worse is that he's actually been good.

WHITE SOX WINNER!
Great game overall, it was nice to see the Sox add-on some insurance in the 8th. I like how we beat a lefty that we've never seen before. It's a miracle!

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jun 18, 2008 -> 05:01 PM) i think Crede should be before Dye even. He gets on base more and is better with RISP. I would like Dye to hit 3rd. I don't know why Ozzie has refrained from that ever since we got Thome. IMO, the best middle of the order should be Dye, Thome, Quentin, and Swisher. Crede usually does better lower in the order.

QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Jun 18, 2008 -> 05:50 PM) BTW, Gorzelanny is 1-4 with a 9.1 ERA on the road this year (if that hasn't been established yet). We've seen similar circumstances before.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 18, 2008 -> 12:27 PM) By the way, anyone catch the Hawkeroo let out the "WOW" last night when they showed that young lady with augmented breasts? I damn near fell off my chair... Hawk is lulz. When Thome hit the homer he just went, "that ball is hit so hard, you can put it on the board, yes". He barely had time to say anything before his home run call.

Trade deadline
QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jun 18, 2008 -> 11:08 AM) At some point two months of productions no longer becomes a streak but something a player is truly capable of (well, he may never be a consistent .340 hitter, but you don't hit like that on accident). He just has a lot of natural ability and baseball instincts. He seems to find holes on ocassion but I also think it fits in with the type of player he is and while he won't keep hitting .340 (or at least it is doubtful he will), I wouldn't be shocked if he just kept getting better and better from an all-around stand-point. As far as I'm concerned, Ramirez and Quentin are the two brightest stars in the Sox young everyday playing ranks. They are on a whole nother level than a guy like Josh Fields. Fields just has some raw power, but Ramirez and Quentin are true baseball players.

QUOTE (TCQ @ Jun 18, 2008 -> 11:03 AM) If we dont continue the ongoing train that is being run on gorzelanny i will be pissed. I think he has the highest era of any starter in the league. 6.55 is high, but I doubt it's the highest. Remember Jorge De La Rosa?

QUOTE (Pants Rowland @ Jun 18, 2008 -> 11:04 AM) Ray Ray is a great option if the Giants are willing to part with him. My guess is for a decent prospect, Juan and cash he could be had. Ray Durham is not the answer. Are we gonna sit Alexei then?

Sox have most to gain in City Series
The Sox have more to gain in that they'll have 3 more tallies in the win column. All I care are the wins, no matter who we really beat. Although it would be nice for the Cubs fans to shut up for a while. I'm all for making Cubs fans look stupid.

Trade deadline
At this point, the best the Sox can probably do is a Willy Taveras. I'd rather have Kenny Lofton than him though.

QUOTE (robinventura23 @ Jun 18, 2008 -> 10:40 AM) LH starter + lots of changeups = fits for the lineup. Hopefully, last night was no fluke. I was worried about the same thing going into last week's game against Livan Hernandez. However, Livan throws with his right hand and the Sox had already seen him for an entire game before. So I don't know. Hopefully, we can continue the offensive explosion.
