  1. Cody Campbell wants Sorsby to play and he basically funds their NIL program. So they need to do what he says.
  2. Why in the world is right field only 316 feet? Is that a high school stadium? Edit: it said 398 feet on At Bat. Still, a 94 EV 48 degree launch angle batted ball should not go almost 400 feet.
  3. Yup twice now...although I want to say we benefited from 2020 because I'm not sure we make the playoffs with that team over 162 games. Our pitching was way too thin.
  4. It's ridiculous. I heard the Big 12 ADs are threatening to not play Tech at all if they let Sorsby play.
  5. With how often he hits the ball on the ground, I'd assume his launch angle is pretty low. The low pull in the air rate and the high GB rate leads me to think that he might have a similar profile to guys like Abreu and Eloy. He'll smash the ball, but way too often it's on the ground. His 46th percentile speed isn't optimal for hitting a lot of grounders either. We'll see how it goes. Like others have said in this thread, Colson sucked in AAA, but has become a much better hitter in the majors. Sometimes the talent wins out and hitters like him get better at the next level with better coaching and preparation.
  6. Just our luck that our competitive window coincides with a major CBA change and a possible lock out.
  7. They're really throwing him right into the fire with the teams we'll be playing the next 2 weeks. At the very least, it'll be interesting.
  8. It was bound to happen eventually. The Phillies may have been hitting poorly, but that lineup has a lot of talent.
  9. They hadn't scored more than 4 runs for a 2 week stretch before scoring 6 against the Padres in the last series. They're definitely hot now.
  10. Only 89.9 off the bat. Not many sub 90 MPH exit velos go yard.
  11. The good thing is that those hip sinkers from a righty are very tough to spot. Probably why more pitchers haven't done it to him.
  12. A lot of Peters' game is hitting seeing eye grounders in huge situations. It's great. But I don't think that's a skill you can just keep doing. Unless he's Ichiro, that's not something you can just keep doing over a whole season.
  13. The pitchers coming up through the system all have great stuff, but have no idea where it's going.
  14. He's got a .378 BABIP on the year. I know he's fast, but that's very hard to sustain. Especially since he doesn't hit the ball real hard. All his underlying metrics say he's been overachieving like crazy. I like him as a player, but we've also gotta be realistic.
  15. Peters gotta be one of the luckiest hitters in baseball this year. Crazy.
  16. Chase was basically on the bag when the ump decided to call that. Such bullshit.
  17. Sandlin had a lot of success that first start cause the Twins kept swinging first pitch at his fastballs. Turns out he has trouble getting anything else over in the zone.
