I guess it depends on how much the Ravens get back on defense. Before Lamar went out, their offense was actually looking kind of bad. The Ravens will probably be favorites by a TD or so, but with Lamar just coming back and them still being quite banged up, you never know.

It definitely felt like he was big game hunting the entire first half. Lots of instances where he could have ran or maybe checked it down and he ended up looking for chunk plays instead. I think he wanted to show out against Rattler even though he honestly has nothing to prove against him. Rattler beat himself today just like he did at Oklahoma.

The Dodgers have like 3x the payroll. At some point, talent wins over whatever the Brewers have.
-
Hoffman himself is not that good. I think he had a negative fWAR in the regular season. Even when he closed out the ALDS, he gave up a run. The Jays bullpen just isn't built to protect small leads in the postseason. There's really not one guy you can trust in a high leverage situation besides Varland.

I don't think they have any great choices in that Toronto bullpen.

Emmanuel Clase and Luis Ortiz likely to be banned for life from MLB
chw42 replied to Kyyle23's topic in The Diamond Club
You can see why Ortiz would do it cause he's under club control making near league minimum. But Clase was making decent money and would have gotten a big 2nd contract if he kept pitching well. -
Blue Jays offense said not so fast

2025 MLB season...catch-all for non-Sox, non AL-Central

Seems like Shildt didn't really retire and he was more forced out because of how badly the coaching staff and management hated him. https://archive.ph/dKz2w -
It honestly feels like both of these series might go 5 games max.

The problem is that Poles sucks at drafting.

They skewered him not throwing a drag route last year against the Vikings. Like yeah, I get it, he holds onto the ball too long sometimes, but they spent a good minute talking about how he fucked that play up.

Combined record of those teams is 15-6. For how many yards we give up, we basically need to get turnovers to win.

Refs really tried to f*** us in this game. I think there were like 3 penalties that nullified a stop on 3rd down. The illegal formation on the TD, the OPI on Loveland, the offsides on DJ were all calls a lot of crews easily let go. It felt like they were looking for penalties to call. This crew had the highest amount of penalties called coming into the game. They really wanted to add onto their lead.

He almost did in 2023. Losing that Cleveland game ruined that. Flus was also winning mostly against backup QBs. We just beat Dak and Daniels.

Probably. We're probably gonna be their get right game. That's in Baltimore too.

They finally figured out how to run outside zone. I think not having Braxton with his bad leg on the left side helps the run game as well. Benedet isn't great but he has good enough mobility to pull on some of the outside runs. I really expected Caleb to play a lot better since we finally got the run game going, but I thought he played pretty poorly tonight for most of the game. A lot of his yards came on screens and short passes where it was really scheme and the receives doing most of the work. Poor accuracy on a lot of his throws. A couple of terrible decisions that probably should have resulted in picks where he didn't bother to read the defender post snap. But when the team needed it he converted a big 3rd and 5 and led a game winning drive. I don't remember the last time this team won 2 close games in a row and did pretty much everything right down the stretch. 2018? I don't know if it's sustainable, but Ben Johnson has the team executing in high leverage situations and that's a huge improvement on the trainwreck that was Eberflus.

Toronto is lucky that it's a 7 game series. These 2 games were supposed to be tough for Seattle because their pitching was so spent. Now they get an off-day to recharge and will be pitching their best starters in Seattle while up 2-0. It's a very tough task ahead for the Jays.

I did read that they were retaining him and Preller last week. -

Shildt is stepping down -
Miller holding that lineup to 1 run for 6 innings absolutely saved this game for Seattle.

Old Seattle vs. Current Seattle

Cubs fans who are also Bears fans must really hate Wisconsin. The Bears are at least on an even playing field financially with the Packers. The Cubs spend more than the Brewers and they still can't beat them.

If today's Illini game is any indication, Indiana is better than Ohio State. -
I see people on Reddit shitting on the Sox for this trade and some Sox fans regretting it. Hell no lol. Vaughn was never going to amount to s%*# on the Sox. Having him sink the Cubs was probably the best outcome from this trade aside from Civale becoming good again (never was happening).
