  1. Houston's starters outside of McCullers have been just as bad as ours this series. Honestly the offense has executed the game plan in games 2 and 3 against their starters. The plan was always to get their starters out early and get into their bullpen and we've done that in 2 out of the 3 games.
  2. Not using McCullers in game 4 is probably smart if they're looking forward to the ALCS. Cause if he goes tomorrow, he can't pitch until game 3 of the ALCS at the earliest unless he goes on short rest. If he starts game 5, he also won't be able to pitch until game 3 of the ALCS. But if they somehow win with Urquidy in game 4, McCullers can start game 1 of the ALCS.
  3. I feel like Rodon has deserved at least one start in the playoffs. We really owe it to ourselves to see what he's got, cause the rest of the staff certainly hasn't had it. I still think you go with him with Lynn as the backup.
  4. Well that's bullshit. They'll probably start McCullers tomorrow now.
  5. It sure feels like every rally they've had has involved a walk.
  6. Especially since Gammons used to pocket tweet all the time or make random tweets like he was writing down notes in a check list.
  7. Because it didn't result in a walk or hit directly. Ump Scorecards also does not care what happens after the call, because it's based around run expectancy. Not how many actual runs were scored because of the difference in the call. I actually don't remember the strike 3 on Maldonado being in the same spot as Grandal's non-called 3rd strike, but it seemed like Hallion did not give the high strike to lefties all game and he pretty much kept with it. The zone was mostly consistent, even though it was pretty bad.
  8. Hmm did the Astros personally apologize to every clubhouse in baseball?
  9. Welp, I guess the Astros fans bitching about the ump can take solace in that they would have lost 11.75 to 7.
  10. Game 1 whiffs: 17 Game 2 whiffs: 15 Game 3 whiffs: 22 What's even more important is that the game 1 and 2 starters had 16 of the 32 whiffs accounted for in only about 7 innings of work. Cease only got 3 whiffs tonight and the rest of the bullpen racked up 19. I don't think think this really means that the Astros cheat at home, but it is interesting.
  11. If Rodon can't go more than 3 tomorrow, I think Lynn should be the first one out of the bullpen. If Rodon gives you 5, go Crochet, Tepera, Kimbrel, and Hendriks. Bummer probably won't be available unless absolutely needed.
  12. He should be the first one out of the bullpen tomorrow if Rodon falters.
  13. It probably was. But who cares what they think. They think the Astros did nothing wrong in 17.
  14. Yoan slipping in the 2nd was also huge. Lucas didn't look the same after.
  15. Leury! Bummer! Tepera! 2 more of these and it'll be Sox in 5.
  16. You know, in hindsight, Lynn didn't pitch that poorly in game 1. Cause Cease showed tonight that it can be much worse.
  17. It'll be Urquidy. Had the bullpen pitched like they did tonight in Houston we'd be up 2-1 right now.
  18. Dusty outmanaged himself. He overmanaged his bullpen and it totally backfired.
  19. I imagine it'll be like Mr. Miyagi healing Daniel LaRusso's leg.
  20. lmao Yaz looking guilty af trying to explain the base running play.
  21. Gonna need cane guy in attendance tomorrow so he can work his magic on Carlos' shoulder.
  22. Grandal is a terrible interview lmao
  23. Hallion definitely wanted to go eat dinner
