His defensive numbers are awful this year. And you wonder why teams didn't want him playing everyday in the OF.

His spin rate is down across the board, but only by about 100 rpms at most. His problem isn't even getting hit on the fastball. The hits are off cutters and sinkers.

We've been competitive/close in about 80-90% of our games, I'd argue. This is a rare game where we really don't look like we belong.

It's crazy how Lance looked unhittable against a better hitting team in Toronto and is getting punished for every mistake against the Rays.

His cutter and sinker location haven't been good at all in his last 2 starts. He hung quite a few against Toronto and got away with it. His 4 seam location seems to be pretty spot on though.

As long as we have someone dependable to get the ball to Hendriks the bullpen will be ok. Bummer just needs to throw strikes. Most guys go up there taking cause they can't hit his sinker most of the time anyways. That pitch moves so much even he doesn't know where it's gonna end up.

It could just be Bummer that's making me think this. Because he's one of the only guys in the bullpen who walks a decent amount of guys and he's blown numerous games in the 8th. Heuer, Marshall, and Foster all have had some control issues but those haven't necessarily ended up in walks.
