QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jun 3, 2009 -> 08:10 AM) Worst post in the history of Soxtalk. Yes,that post does get my vote for worst ever...MJ,off the top of my head lost 3 times to the Pistons, once to Boston and then to the Magic and he shook the opponents hands after losing, especially tough was against the Pistons considering how they played (like thugs). We ain't criticizing James personal life, just his on court antics and lack of sportsmanship, nobody is saying he's an evil ahole. -

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 2, 2009 -> 08:59 PM) I don't know what that means regarding how famous Woods is...but it does at least show to me that it's not "Always" a soccer player who is the world's most famous athlete. I agree with you on that,it's not always a soccer player the most famous but it certainly ain't a golf player...I can't imagine Brazilian kids lining up to hit a golf ball like Tiger No disrespect but it's an old white guy's sport. -

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 2, 2009 -> 08:54 PM) In the 90's...they knew Jordan. Of course they knew MJ,basketball is probably after soccer the second most popular sport, golf ain't even in the radar, that's my point,Tiger is a huge deal in America and some parts of Europe but I bet those 10 year old kids don't know who the hell Woods is.They probably know Kobe though... -
QUOTE (whitesoxmanager @ Jun 2, 2009 -> 09:23 PM) we should all be rich. shoulda doubled or nothing since mariano riveria made his first start against us ages ago. we would have countless amounts of loot. It's been like that for a while now, some no name rookie always shuts us out...I'm gonna put my mortgage on it next time,I swear to effing Christ.

QUOTE (ChiSox420* @ Jun 2, 2009 -> 09:08 PM) I just don't understand what Ozzie sees in Betimet and Pods, both need to be DFA ASAP. Pods has about as much power as an eldery prostate and Betimet seems to only come in to prove there is a worse fielder on this team then Pods. I cant stand watchin them anymore, please make them go away Ozzie! PS Beckham with another double and an error today, but if were gonna have a hack at 3B lets least get one who can hit! Wow,just wow...

I seriously doubt Tiger Woods is the world's most famous athlete,I would think it would be more like a soccer player...soccer is popular everywhere but here.Golf isn't a huge sport all over the world. When Ronaldinho or Ronaldo were at their pinacle, even many Americans knew who they were and without question everywhere else they knew who they were. I doubt working class folks in Argentina,Senegal,Romania or the Phillipines know Woods, but ask them about famous soccer players. -
I liked this kid from the beginning and I thought some of the heat he was getting here was unwarranted,he made a few good starts where he was solid for 3 or 4 innings before he lost it and then he made some great pitches against the Rays in particular that made me hopeful but I know its only been a few starts but he's showing us he's got the stuff to be a pretty good pitcher, keep it up CR!

QUOTE (rangercal @ Jun 1, 2009 -> 03:19 PM) Lebron is still the most awesome player to lace up a pair of sneakers since the other #23. Lebron is also the biggest name in sports right now. Umm,actually LeBron is the "other" 23...he took his number after MJ,not the other way around. -

QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Jun 1, 2009 -> 06:11 AM) Put what he did in the context of a lower level of competition. For someone to leave the court before congratulating the other team and thereafter not join teammates post-game would be viewed as selfish and everyone here knows it. That's exactly what it is. If pre-teens can shake hands after a game, a 24 year old Lebron can. It's not overreacting either, at least for me. Yes, what he did wasn't terrible, but to dismiss what happened because of his competitiveness is a bit ridiculous. So, what exactly does it say that Lebron doesn't shake hands after a loss because he's competitive, yet his teammates do? Wait, are they not competitive then in Lebron's eyes? If there is some differing definition of what it means to be competitive, one of their coaches should step in and tell Lebron he's wrong, or the team they're wrong. Someones wrong in this picture. Teammates should be together on and off the court. Also, does anyone think Lebron tells kids across Ohio and elsewhere, when visiting middle schools, that not showing sportsmanship is ok because storming off the court proves to everyone how competitive you are? Of course not. It's the epitome of a superstar ego being deflated. Great post I guess for those who support LeBron's unwillingness to show sportsmanship should just tell to shut up because we are Witnesses to the Chosen 1,King James!! What others like Bird,Magic,Jordan,Wilt,Dr J,Kobe,Shaq etc..did after losing DOES NOT APPLY to King James dammit! -

QUOTE (Ron @ May 31, 2009 -> 08:51 PM) LeBron comments on last night: http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/playoffs/200...tory?id=4219933 What I want to know is...did he come up with that since the Magic beat him or did he also go off the court without congratulating his opponents since he's been a pro.Did he do that to the Spurs when they beat him in the Finals? If so,why didn't we ever hear about his unwillingness to be gracious in defeat. From now on it would be funny to see opponents he beats in the future not aknowledge him, just walk off the court, what class! He can spin it all he wants,he looked like a little b**** sore loser...next time take the ball with you before time expires, juniour. -

QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ May 31, 2009 -> 09:08 AM) Also, LeBron got off the team bus according to Craig Sager and didn't go back to the hotel with his teammates or even fly home. Instead, he called his mother and will be staying in Orlando for awhile with her. So apparently, the guy doesn't even care about his teammates. You win as a team, you lose as a team. His supporting cast being bad is a poor excuse because in the regular season, everyone was up in arms about how great of a supporting cast they have and how they are so great defensively. I never got why so many guys see him as classy. He took the Hummer in high school which his mother couldn't afford, He tatooed Chosen1 on his back and started calling himself King James. He also started doing stupid poses before each home game. If Kobe did that, people would be up in arms. LeBron does it any it's okay. Because he smiles alot? -

Watching those ads by Vitamin Water and Nike with LeBron and Kobe make chuckle now that they look stupid for getting ahead of themselves. LeBron is amazing but if I had to pick a player for this year,I still gotta go with Kobe. That being said,I hope the Magic beats LA,Laker fans arrogant pricks. -

When LeBron comes to Chicago (I know, long shot but what the hell) will he pick a new number because there is no way he's using 23 with the Bulls since it's retired...maybe 32? -

QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ May 30, 2009 -> 10:02 PM) Great show of sportsmanship from Lebron just walking off the court while his teammates remain to congratulate the Magic. it took MJ a few years to win,did LeBron think he was just going to waltz his way to multiple championships? -

lol,I had to laugh at that avatar,Ranger...actually I'm pulling for the Cavs because I thought they would have a better shot at beating LA but I'm not so sure now. Kobe does get all the calls but LeBron is a very close second in that category. -

The Cavs really needed a laugher today, you get the feeling that if it's close in the final seconds, the Cavs will self destruct under the pressure.
