QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jul 27, 2009 -> 09:17 PM) So how will we give up a run or two making the ninth inning even more of an impossible task? A) Solo HR B) Error C) Bloop hits D) Walk, SB, bunt, Sac Fly E) Twinkie dust. it doesn't matter,we ain't scoring anymore,4 runs for them is more than enough

BA wants to be traded
Nah,its not a response,it's my statement to Goldilocks request for a trade, notice I didn't quote anyone one in particular, just wanted to chime in on this bum's trade demand.

BA wants to be traded
His dude has had 4 years to get his s*** together and he hasn't done a thing at the plate to deserve a starting job. It's time we let him go and flop somewhere else...he's a defensive specialist and nothing else. Good-bye BA=1st round bust.

Richard causing good problem

Got a chance to watch the game because my cousin DVRed it,I agree with sonik22 and zenryan that Team USA just didn't put up any resistance the last 20 mins of the game which is embarrassing and if I'm the USA coach I'll make sure to never call up those guys who quit in the game... It does set up a interesting match in Mexico City in August though.

QUOTE (Sonik22 @ Jul 26, 2009 -> 06:22 PM) Well in the big picture this game means jack s***. None of the players that started for the US will start in the WC and a lot of them won't even be on the roster. OK,so what you are basically saying is that playing for national pride means nothing since this doesn't count for nothing in the big picture, hmmmmm If the USA b/c team would've beaten Mexico's youngsters by that same score I highly doubt that would be the sentiment here, you got your asses handed to you at home, own up to it.

I didn't watch the game but 5-0?I never would've expected a beatdown like that, they are usually closely fought games between the two sides...

QUOTE (DBAHO @ Jul 25, 2009 -> 11:27 PM) Eh I'd say Rugby's actually thr #3 sport in Australia now (behind Australian Rules Football and Soccer which has exploded down here since the last World Cup when we made the 2nd round). Japan, the Koreas,Hong Kong,Taiwan etc prefer baseball.

Mark Buehrle-Future Hall of Famer?
QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jul 25, 2009 -> 03:05 PM) Mark is going to have to get 250 wins to even be in the discussion, IMO. Wow,thats a really high bar you've set...and you need at least 250 to even be in the discussion? Thats an average of 15 wins for 17 years, there won't be many pitchers in the HOF from this point on if you need at least 250 wins to even be considered,in this day and age of bullpens being a huge part of the game and thus blowing many wins a starter might have, there isn't going to be many 250+ wins starters in baseball anymore. I think 200 plus should be more of a realistic standard for HOF status,IMO.

Has no one realized?
The double high of Mark's PG with us being in 1st place was short lived.... back to reality

QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 25, 2009 -> 05:30 PM) and this isn't even a rip on Ozzie as much as it's praise on Leyland, but he's managed a hell of a series so far. yea,not even close...weren't the Tigers slumping til we came to town by the way?wtf

Sox. Tigers. Baseball. Fox. 3P. G
outclassed by a team that's not even that good

We can't win the division with the 4/5 pitchers we have
QUOTE (AWhiteSoxinNJ @ Jul 25, 2009 -> 06:16 AM) Last night wasn't Jose/Colon's fault, its that the rest of the team decided not to show up from partying after the perfect game. Buehrle was right, the perfect game is going to be the worse thing that could have happen to this team. I remember right after MB's no hitter in 07 thinking that that would launch the Sox into a good roll but it was all the opposite, they stunk the high heavens afterwards. We were all excited going into a series vs a slumping Detroit with us having all the momentum... hopefully we dont get swept

Fox Saturday Baseball
QUOTE (Disco72 @ Jul 25, 2009 -> 08:48 AM) Fixed. You're right but don't we play on Sunday night on ESPN?
-
Do you like ESPN?
QUOTE (WhiteSoxfan1986 @ Jul 24, 2009 -> 03:47 PM) Used to watch ESPN all the time, not anymore. Their host suck, their analysts suck, the shows suck. During baseball season I watch MLB network, during football season I watch NFL network. Couldn't have said it better myself...when one of their hosts goes by the name of Trey Wingo, you know you're in trouble. Featuring as an NFL qb expert a scrub like Sean Salisbury, well nuff said.

Hopefully the Sox won't embarrass themselves and us with crap performances like in the DH last night in front a national audience...

Why are KW and JR "crying poor"???
QUOTE (3 BeWareTheNewSox 5 @ Jul 24, 2009 -> 12:12 PM) Sox should be called on it, KW had no right to make those comments. Think about it, 2 years ago Buehrle was basically gone until he went down in his demands, Kenny even made comments that the trade was in place and Mark was really lucky that he came down. He had this really angry tone about it too (like 'you all better not rip on me if we live to regret this). That's how we treat a Sox legend? I like KW as a GM but he is a bit on the ahole side, the way he trashed Big Hurt always bugged me...

We can't win the division with the 4/5 pitchers we have
QUOTE (TheOcho @ Jul 25, 2009 -> 01:20 AM) Both starters performed well enough to deserve a win today. It'll be hard to win the division with lack of fundementals and clutch hitting. Yea,the offense stunk...they totally let Verlander off the hook in the early innings of game 1 especially... Then again,it's all Wise' fault!!
