  1. Politte hit 101 on the radar yesterday.
  2. Wright was a prospect when he came up because he threw 94-97. Against Tampa he was 89-90 mostly. He hasn't been a flame thrower for quite some time. Unless he somehow finds that lost velocity you can stick a fork in him.
  3. I take it Hankins/Burke are the 1B guys?
  4. Jeez, Rex is the only guy who understands options. Options begin once you're put on the 40 roster. After you're on the 40 roster if you're optioned to the minors one option is used. Only one option is used a year no matter how many times a guy is brought up during a year. Rauch, 99 draftee - on 40 November 01. Optioned to minors in 02 & 03. Should be 1 option left. In April of 05 he will have no options left.
  5. Can't see Borchard making the team, he needs PT. If the Sox only carry 11 pitchers then the bench will be Uribe, Gload, Alomar, Benard & one of the 2 catchers on the 40 - Burke or Rivera. Only ?s are 5th starter & 7th reliever if they go with 12 pitchers. Starters: Person, Campos, Grilli are older and if cut will either be re-claimed by their rule 5 teams or become FAs. So I think these 3 will get the shot over guys we have options on like Diaz or Rauch. If there is a 12 man staff the last guy in the pen will either be Mike Jackson or Ginter (no options) or one of the 3 guys I named as possible 5th starters. Sanders has options & we have 2 good lefties in the pen. Problem is who is healthy? Person & Jackson might be guys who start on DL or on rehab assignments. If Person & Jackson are fully healthy great - if not keep your eyes on the rule 5 guys - Grilli & Campos. I'm only talking about who breaks camp with the Sox. I hope Rauch is up before July. Seems he's in the doghouse right now. JMO.
  6. Durham also ripped Kenny with his "spies."
  7. LOL, you guys are a riot. If living in a fantasy world helps to keep you Sox fans, well, go for it.
  8. Brando, you're right, when he first came up his velocity was great - he might have even hit 98 - but 94-97 for sure. But you're wrong about 2002. By 02 he had already lost his velocity. Mostly 89-92. I've never seen a kid lose so much so fast.
  9. I said it before, serious drugs. Lemme know what you guys are on. I keep track on the velocity of each pitcher - I actually write dowm the speeds of each fastball. (You can ask the guys from josh's regular message boards) Biggest loss of velocity of a Sox pitcher in last few years is poor Danny Wright.
  10. You guys are taking some serious drugs. Wright has been consistently around 89-91 for the last 2 years. When he first came up he was hitting 93-96, but that was a LONG time ago. In addition to average velocity he has no fricking control. Throw him in the pen if you like, but if he's starting for us next year we are in deep s***.
