You could call Robert up put him in center and move Cordell/Tilson/Jay or whoever you want to LF but then again it wouldn’t be directly affecting whether Jimenez is done for the year

If he isn’t the guy called up what a damn tease, of all days to give him the day off. If that’s the case it’s gonna upset a lot of fans ?

My math was a little off earlier but as of right now they have 33 games still remaining against teams with a record below 500....even if they split those that puts you at 16 or 17 w’s then when you factor in the remaining 39 games against teams above 500 I find it very hard for them not to squeeze out 13-14 W’s there.....in my opinion going to be very hard to only win 31 games the rest of the way. Yes this team is bad but it’s also young enough where we will see up and down play all season, right now we are on one of those downward slopes.....Realistically I see them playing .500 ball the rest of the way especially with how many games are remaining in the weak AL central.

You only expect this team to win another 24 games the rest of the way? ?

I understand they are two totally different scenarios (free agent versus an extra year of control) but at the same time both scenarios are about worrying about what might be in 7 years from now versus optimizing your chances to win here in the near future

This the type of thinking that drives me crazy. The Sox lost out on Machado for worrying about his final portion of his contract 8 years from now, worry about the extensions in 5-6 years from now, let the kid come up and get the MLB at bats so the window is optimized sooner rather than worrying about that extra year of control on the back end. If the team becomes contenders and they do what we all think they will be able to do then the extension should be easier to do later down the line.

So much for the Collins is here to stay remarks that were said when he first got called up. We need to start our next phase of this rebuild and start playing some of the kids instead of the veterans who will not be on the roster in the next season or two.

Who gives a damn about flipping a bat in 2019? Seriously I don’t care if it’s a Sox Player, Manny machado, tatis, any cub player or any pitcher.....does it really matter? NFL players celebrate after every single score. In the NFL the fans love it, the players love it, it’s good for the game...if you don’t like it as a player then stop it by getting them out. This is where the league is falling behind other sports. MLB needs to quit being so damn sensitive, they may just attract more fans with different stuff like that.
