I agree. LA would be looking for a closer and it was mentioned yesterday that they are one of the front runners for Kimbrel so it would definitely open up that possibility.
Trading for either Bryan Reynolds or Ketel Marte would be incredible and would still be considered a win now move but also for a long term competitive window.
I was just throwing it out there as an idea or speculation. I get what your saying because of what the Cubs did to their team but I don’t think trading Vaughn is going to hurt the team long term that much as some people really think. We can have a difference of opinion though.
I know people aren’t going to like it if one of Vaughn or Eloy is traded but we’re too right handed heavy right now and we need to give up something to get something. A team with WS aspirations shouldn’t be attached to rookie prospects or players that have been on the team for a few years if it means getting something that will help them win now.
Yes but the problem is the FA for second basemen isn’t that good this year. Escobar is the only one that I would really target as a FA. Semien is going to be really expensive and his age is up there. Plus he really has had only two good season’s on his resume.
