Does this not get posted until the evening? Or is it someplace other than the main Baseball page at espn.com ? I can't find the article.
  2. Rios and Valentin (switch hitter) are the only two lefties on the roster that I can think of off the top of my head. I could easily be forgetting someone though.
  3. And you never know, if the Sox have a great year this year. Which is looking more likely after yesterday....Mark may want to stick around, assuming for the moment he doesn't already (which I doubt).
  4. I would say going into Spring Training that the #5 spot is probably Rauch's to lose. Hey, long time no see LDF, great day to be a sox fan.
  5. 3 Catchers? I don't know about that, I don't know if there's enough playing time to go around. And if we've got Olivo on the roster, I want him playing and learning. If he's just going to sit on the bench in Chicago, he should be in AAA so he can play and keep getting better.
  6. That is a bit of a bothersome tidbit though. Seems that if he hasn't made it yet he might be destined for a utility role? Not that we can't use such a player with Graffy on the mend and Harris still learning.
  7. This is me all the way. Can't say I'm not glad I was wrong. This trade was pulled off excellently by KW. If I could get my crow medium well with a bit of A1? Can the chef handle that? Never been so glad to have made an ass of myself! GO SOX!!!!!!!
  8. I must go and pretend I have read and heard none of these rumors so as to avoid disappointment when/if these deals don't happen. If they do, KW, just go in with the mindset you had during the Gurrier for Marte deal...pleeeeease.
  9. You think Biddle is not the answer? What about Rauch and Wright? They are no answer either, this staff blows. Even Garland hasn't proved himself to be consistent in this league. Our entire staff is based on potential and nothing proven. We are in deep s*** and nobody seems to notice. I notice, but for the moment am choosing to consciously ignore the fact that our rotation is a joke. I figure I may as well take advantage of "hope springs eternal" right up until the second day of the season, at which time the starters other than Buehrle get their turns. Then I will reach for the prozac.
  10. Whoa, whoa, don't go too nuts. The Braves may have traded Millwood for nothing, but I don't know if Josh Paul is "twice" as good as some of the bat boys in the league.
  11. I agree with you 100%. Though as a whole, I thought Crede was kept in AAA a few months too long, what with our season more or less over in mid-June and Crede having torn it up all season. All together though, it seems to have been a good decision to give him all that AAA time. Give Tim another year in Charlotte, I have a suspiscion we'll be glad if the sox do.
  12. Regardless of who's on the roster, I'm a long-time hawks fan, and I, for the first time in a long time, am looking forward to the season. Bring on hockey!!
  13. I never was one to get too involved in the politics over at WSI, and I like to think I did a decent job of staying out of the brawls over there. I'm just a fan looking for someplace to talk about the Sox, and where ever I can find that, that's where I'll go. There are still a handful of people over at WSI that I enjoy conversing with (Randar, Vic, and others), though I don't know if some of you aren't fans of theirs. Regardless, I set myself up here too because a lot of the people from WSI that I enjoyed talking to came here as well, (LDF, RPS, Nuke, and others). Anyway, you'll never catch me starting a fight, and I think LDF, and maybe some other people will speak on my behalf that I'm not one to be annoying to have around. So, that's my schpiel, and in the end, the bottom line is the same.... GO SOX!!!
  14. Here we go..... Around the diamond Paulie - A. Consistent as hell, on a team where most weren't Harris - C- - The guy has the talent, but will he put it together? Jimenez - B- - Impressive finishing the season, let's see him do it again Jose V - C+ - Produced in the clutch Graff- A - Top grade because he knew his role and filled it perfectly Crede- B+ - Would be higher, but the club kept him in Charlotte too long...I love this guy Olivo - never saw him play, no grade Mark Johnson - C- - Steadiest catcher we have defensively until Olivo takes over. Josh P - D+ - Wasn't a fan before this season, he didn't make me one after it either. Carlos Lee - B- - Really came on strong late, let's hope he brings it back next year. Rowand - C+ - Played his role well, don't know if starting is in his future though Maggs - A+ - Nuff said Liefer- C- - Didn't play a ton, didn't always produce when he did play. Frank - C+ - I still think he's got it, bring him back, please. Joe B - didn't see him play enough, no grade Garland - B - He'll be a star, just watch Wright - C+ - Inconsistent, but looked damn good when he was on. Mark B - A - Holy s***, uncanny. Foulke - B- - Recovered the true Keith around mid-season. Ritchie - F - But I think there's a .500 pitcher buried in there someplace Glover + Biddle - Give Rock the starting spot, or better yet, give it to Rauch.

    Well

I wouldn't go so far as to say the division is ours. However, I do think next year's club will be much more entertaining to watch, and that we won't have to worry about them giving a full effort all the time. Bring on spring training.
  16. They all must have heard that I stop by here from time to time.
