  1. QUOTE (Caesar @ Sep 2, 2012 -> 09:21 PM) If you consider choking away a division and playoff appearance fun, then yep, it's gonna be a f***ing blast. Put a new tampon in and have a cigarette. Youll feel better after that.
  2. Well gentlemen its going to a fun few weeks.
  3. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 2, 2012 -> 09:17 PM) Who's giving up on the season? It's possible Detroit will revert back to s*** and we'll continue playing the percentage baseball we've played all year. I hope you are kidding; please be kidding. You think if one of our hitters got plunked he'd be on some roll against the team that plunked him? Blaming our former manager I assume u are kidding. Look at the last few pages Greg.
  4. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Sep 2, 2012 -> 09:14 PM) They will be the first ones to cheer when the Sox clinch the division and the most foolish when I bring that back up
  5. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Sep 2, 2012 -> 09:13 PM) There's nobody left to trade. They would be pretty foolish to keep Floyd around for $9.5 million next year. Thornton and Crain will get you what exactly? The only asset we have to trade is probably Alexei Ramirez...and that's a dubious move at best unless it nets us Jurickson Profar in return, which will never happen. I suppose they could deal Rios or Dunn, but how would they sell any season tickets for next year...trading Dunn or Rios, letting Floyd go, trading Thornton/Crain, letting YOUK, AJ and Peavy all walk. Good luck on that one, Brooks. Which is why it will never happen. I was talking about before the season actually caulfield. Sorry I forgot to mention that in my previous post :/
  6. *Writes down all the names of people conceding the season with 29 games left*
  7. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 2, 2012 -> 09:09 PM) I couldn't agree more with the fact people shouldn't give up on the season after tonight. Still tied with a lot of home games left. The Sox really couldn't have played worse this week. I said a few days ago, but Ventura's legacy for this season will be reflected by how the team performs the 10 days. They played bad but they have those games to make up for it. If this were it I would be pissed. Fortunately plenty of baseball left.
  8. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 2, 2012 -> 09:06 PM) Well, they sure as hell didn't show up this week on the road. Basically everyone has sucked on the roster this week outside of Axelrod and Veal. Yet there is still no point in calling for some of the crap some people on here will. There is still 29 games to go. I still laugh at some people on here( I know who you are) that were calling for a 5-10 year rebuild.
  9. QUOTE (2nd_city_saint787 @ Sep 2, 2012 -> 09:03 PM) seasons not over.... Oh just wait until this game is over. People will be calling for a complete overhaul.
  10. Throw a breaking ball and sit his ass down please
  11. QUOTE (Real @ Sep 2, 2012 -> 08:59 PM) lol, cheer up bucko. Im just fine. If this team fails the Bears season starts up next Sunday.
  12. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 2, 2012 -> 08:59 PM) It'd be easier to take if we'd just forfeit all games against KC and Detroit, at least the road games against 'em. Wouldn't be as frustrating. Dont watch them then
  13. I dont see why they dont just call our season. Its over guys. No reason to watch the rest of the games.
  14. QUOTE (Real @ Sep 2, 2012 -> 08:56 PM) sale definitely needs to be shut down if we continue losing, he clearly isn't able to keep throwing towards 175-180 innings Thanks broken record.
  15. QUOTE (Caesar @ Sep 2, 2012 -> 08:56 PM) Detroit is just a better and more talented team So give up right?
  16. QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Sep 2, 2012 -> 08:50 PM) Just think of all the naps you would be missing with Beckham batting 8th, Morel 9th. I dont expect Gordon to be in the starting lineup next year.
  17. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 2, 2012 -> 08:49 PM) Yes, they are this year, but not for 13 million next year. You can sign him to a lesser deal than that. You dont have to pick up that option.
  18. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 2, 2012 -> 08:48 PM) Yep, it's a revolutionary way that's going to sweep the majors You understand what Im getting at though right? I think were pretty damn lucky to have Youk.
  19. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 2, 2012 -> 08:45 PM) No thanks to either. I don't think Morel's in the plans at all, and Youk's gonna want too much money for someone who seems to be struggling to finish the season healthy. So no 3rd baseman then? Cool
  20. QUOTE (Caesar @ Sep 2, 2012 -> 08:44 PM) What? He had 2 hangers at least to mash and he didnt. Better than he has looked all series.
  21. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 2, 2012 -> 08:43 PM) Someone remind him he's in a contract year I thought that was a fine AB. Who are we going to go to next year? Morel? its almost you have to bring back Youk
  22. QUOTE (Caesar @ Sep 2, 2012 -> 08:38 PM) Got lucky there. Lets score here please. Please. Yes please
  23. good thing Jackson doesnt have a brain
