I was going to say I think we make a multi player trade with the Reds and then Clay Holmes. I don't think we acqurie a bullpen arm.

Also I don't think the Red Sox are wallowing in the "Well we weren't good for a majority of the season up until recently...this team probably has no chance in the playoffs lets stand pat". They see an opening and are going for it. I'm willing to bet they make a trade for a short stop before monday.

Here's a question. What's with the extremes on trading players? It seems binary with some people. Either we do nothing and we keep everyone or we make a trade and it's going to be the most painful thing in the universe? I'm willing to bet Carlson doesn't get traded. But outside of trading him and Caleb Bonemer would trading anyone else be doom and gloom? Because they are humans. They will see other teams adding esepcially and probably teams in our division gearing up for a run and say why aren't we doing that? Chris Getz is a former player. You think he's going to walk into that locker room and go well I didn't believe in this team enough to add anyone sorry. Keep doing what your doing.

Maybe it's just me but I'm tired of the defeatist attitude. Any team that makes the playoffs has a good chance of making the World Series. You need to get there and take advantage of it while you are in position.

Also what kind of precedent does that make and what kind of message does that send when you do absolutely nothing for the players on this team? They'll say all the right things after the trade deadline if they did that. But you don't think they will be thinking that upper management doesn't have enough faith in them to make an impact this season if they don't add players?

How in gods green earth do you know any of that? Do you see into the future? Everyone that watches any kind of sports should know if you make it into the playoffs weird stuff can happen. Hot streaks happen all the time. Especially in this sport when rosters are shifting constantly and guys play better. And I got some really bad news for you. 2027 isn't guarenteed they will be in better position or the same position. #1 there might be no baseball or in best case scenario a shortend season. #2 you think the other teams are going to stand pat? Division will be swaping team positions like it always does. Here's what they don't need to do. Take this year for granted like you and so many others are willing to do.

No it is stupid. What kind of precedent would it send by standing pat? Not a good one at all. They have no choice. Plus they are in 1st place. The arguments of well they are ahead of schedule or not contenders fall flat when you have the 2027 potential non season and are in the lead for the division right now.

Have a friend that's in the Red Sox FO. It wasn't fake. Same source that gave me the Hicks trade. So believe what you will. Chris has good insight most of the time but I feel good about it because we've been chatting about it for weeks now.

Plus the buyout. and every penny counts with the uncertainty next year. No it wouldn't be salary dump prospects. There was some turmoil in that franchise recently. Lots of people updating resumes.

I don't have names but from what I gathered because they were going to take on the money it wasn't going to be anything substantial. Boston's opinion on the season shifted after the 2nd Mets game after they swept us.
