Gameday Thread-Doubleheader Special: White Sox vs Indians
QUOTE (fathom @ May 7, 2012 -> 10:21 PM) How much worse can it get? Attendance is a debacle, which goes to show you that people don't come to the park just to watch Konerko or Dunn or Peavy. All Sox fans care about is that the Sox are contending (with regards to attendance), so there's no big difference between having a 65 win team and 72 win team. The question is how long do you plan to rebuild? You dont think it can get worse but over time it certainly can. You can waist alot of years trying to rebuild.

QUOTE (DirtySox @ May 7, 2012 -> 10:17 PM) What exactly is there to look forward to now? The organization is not in a good spot at all. No there is not...but atleast you have some decent players in place. Just wait until your the laughing stock of the league for 5-10 years. Boy thats going to be really fun. Hell most of the people wont even be on here anymore and they shouldnt be. I wouldnt watch that garbage.

QUOTE (fathom @ May 7, 2012 -> 10:10 PM) Still want to know why De Aza was literally playing 385 feet away for Cabrera. Did he think Bonds in his prime was up? Once that flare dropped, it was the beginning of the end. I dont know what he is thinking back there....oh well. Well these past few games have been pretty miserable.

QUOTE (fathom @ May 7, 2012 -> 10:02 PM) I'd like for him to start making some decisions that have some resemblance of making sense. With Sale available today, it's inexcusable that he didn't bring in Reed. Well I think he could give a rats *** if they make sense to you. If he is happy with the decision so be it.

QUOTE (fathom @ May 7, 2012 -> 09:59 PM) Ventura can stay, but it's painful seeing some of these "learning experiences" unfold. What did you think was going to happen? He was going to read your mind every second and change the pitching when you want it changed?

QUOTE (justBLAZE @ May 7, 2012 -> 08:11 PM) It hasn't been a good few months for Texas in that aspect, best of luck I hope they're ok. And tarp on the field. We're in rain dealy? Wasn't there a game vs Minny couple years ago when they suspeded it and we had to play it at the Cell with Twins being the home team ? No it hasnt been a good lately in Texas. Thanks man they are ok I just called them. Dad is pretty upset though. He just had to replace both A/C units. Now half the top of the house is in the driveway.

QUOTE (justBLAZE @ May 7, 2012 -> 08:09 PM) Thats awful man, where at? 20 Miles NW of Austin TX. When I mean half their roof is off I mean half of it is lying on the ground. Its leaking in the house apparently.

My parents just had half their roof ripped off their house by 70+ MPH wind.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 7, 2012 -> 08:04 PM) Underpromise, overdeliver. KW always does the opposite. Should I bring back all the glowing reports on Zach Stewart when we acquired him? At one point last year, he was a "sure thing" to be in the 2012 rotation. Sure, he can probably start out as a 5th starter...the point is that he was billed (along with Sale) as a future ace and rotation anchor for the future. There's just been ZERO evidence of that happening so far, other than his BB/IP ratio. I would be shocked if we see him anytime soon in the big leagues because the predictable failure will result in even more heat on KW. I like your assessment on his pitches though. I thought he would get by with average all around pitches. Clearly he cant do that. He doesnt have that one reliable pitch he can always trust. Today none of his stuff was working and look what happened.

QUOTE (Marty34 @ May 7, 2012 -> 07:49 PM) Kenny said he can be a top of the rotation starter. We shall see. Yeah and I was hoping that was true. I just dont see it from the games he has played so far.

QUOTE (fathom @ May 7, 2012 -> 07:48 PM) I will say that KW is extremely, extremely lucky that Santos has sucked/been injured this year. He'd be receiving even more criticism by Sox fans if Santos was performing well. Quite right...although Im glad he isnt doing well. Just saves me time from scrolling through the complaints.

QUOTE (fathom @ May 7, 2012 -> 07:44 PM) I'm still holding out hope that Toronto forgot to include the main piece of that deal. I was really excited when we got him.But its looking more and more like he is a reliever. He has been giving up way to many hits and to no surprise he got shelled.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 7, 2012 -> 07:44 PM) You just quoted a guys ERA from 1 start. Yeah? Thats still his ERA in AAA. Even in AA it was what? 3.7? Still not that good.

QUOTE (fathom @ May 7, 2012 -> 07:41 PM) Ha...his batting average against in the majors would be insane if they call him up right now. If anything, his control might be too good. Im still holding out hope for him. But right now he is giving up way to many hits in the later innings. His ERA right now is 13.50.

Molina just gave up a grand slam

Well Molina's day went from good to bad quick. He has the bases loaded and has given up 8 hits.
