  1. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 28, 2012 -> 08:58 PM) And FWIW, Dunn's "hit" should have been an error. I wouldn't be shocked if they go back and change it. They better give him the benefit of the doubt since it was off a lefty.
  2. That quick half inning helped Harrisons pitch count big time. Not good.
  3. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jul 28, 2012 -> 08:29 PM) I just ate an unhealthy amount of BBQ. I just had the biggest steak burger this side of the Mississippi.
  4. Tigers trailing 5-1 as Rasmus just hit ay 2 run homer in the bottom of the 7th. Anibal Sanchez is chased after that in his Tigers debut. He went 6+ giving up 5 earned runs on 8 hits 3 walks 3 punchouts & gave up 3 homers.(Encarnacion, Escobar, Rasmus) Tigers trailing 5-1 heading to bottom of the 8th. 3 more outs to score at least 4 runs. CMON JAYS! To the 9th we go. Still 5-1. JA Happ gets the final 6 outs for the Jays & the Tigers lose. Sox up a full 2 games as of now, with a nice opportunity to add to it tonight.
  5. HELL YES!!!!! I know not one Sox fan was comfortable going into the bottom of the 9th with a one run lead. This team just continues too battle, a 180 from last year.
  6. This is exactly how you lose to the Rangers. Tigers & Tribe trying to give us a game tonight, cmon pen.
  7. Would've really deflated Texas if Lexi got a 2 out knock there. Let's see if Sale can get through the 7, hopefully RV already has the pen warm.
  8. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 27, 2012 -> 09:41 PM) The coolest thing I saw about Sale was a clip showing his arm action vs. Johnson's. They are literally identical. It was crazy. The best thing about this year is how Sale has shown an ability to pitch/develop himself. He doesn't just rely on stuff. He has very good command of a multitude of above average pitches. Dude is flat out impressive. I really really hope he stays healthy and has a long career. Dude has a shot to be incredibly special. I'm talking Cy Young special. If he stays healthy throughout his career forget the Cy Young he has HoF potential.
  9. Sale pitching his behind off without his best stuff..... Scary
  10. QUOTE (Melissa1334 @ Jul 27, 2012 -> 07:55 PM) shields isnt an ace. He will get an "ace" ransom as far as a trade goes.
  11. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 27, 2012 -> 07:50 PM) Joe Saunders is interesting as well. Yea if he was brought over with JJ Putz Id be all for it. We do NOT need an ace like some are claiming. I will take my chances with Peavy/Sale in the first 2 games of a series, if we could just get a solid #3 pitcher to take some pressure off Q/Gavin down the stretch we should be fine.
  12. If the DBacks are selling then why not give em a call about Ian Kennedy or Trevor Cahill?
  13. QUOTE (The Ultimate Champion @ Jul 27, 2012 -> 06:25 PM) This is where I tried to post, but posting drunk while trying to operate a tiny laptop with tiny little keys doesn't always work out. Time to go get more beer IMO. Hahaha my kinda guy. It does seem we need another solid starter to become "legit" contenders. I don't trust Humber at all & we all know how on/off Gavin can be. Plus going into the playoffs it would be tough to depend on Q to keep up his performances. Sale & Peavy could be about as good a 1-2 punch there is in the playoffs (if we make it) so getting just a solid #3 pitcher would be a good pickup IMO (like a Fister last year for the Tigers). No need to gut the farm for ZG or Shields or the crackpipe dream of all dreams in Felix. If Q & Gavin perform well in the playoffs (if we make it) that's just gravy. Sale/Peavy/& #3 pitcher will determine how far we go in the playoffs. & the bullpen of course, which I wouldn't mind adding another piece to.
  14. Tigers lose & Verlander implodes in the 7th giving up a 2 run lead. Sole possesion baby
  15. QUOTE (balfanman @ Jul 16, 2012 -> 12:02 PM) Just wanted to get some opinions on DeAza as a defensive centerfielder. Personally, I think that he has been okay overall, nothing special. I am one who listens to most every game on radio and Derrin Jackson, who was a pretty good defensive outfielder himself, has made the comment that DeAza plays way to deep because he is afraid that he can't go back to catch a ball very well. From listening, this has cost the Sox a few runs this season, including Fridays 14 inning marathon. I believe it was the 8th inning of that game, when the Royals tied it. Jackson claimed that DeAza should of easily caught the ball that led to the tying run, but he was playing way to deep and it dropped in front of him. In that case, the game should of been over after 9, saving 5 innings of wear and tear on our bullpen. What say ye?
  16. Went to type in soxtalk. com & started typing in youktalk for some weird reason.... Nice seeing us pull out an extra inning win against the pesky royals.
  17. QUOTE (JoshPR @ Jul 13, 2012 -> 08:49 PM) Anybody else have MLB at bat? I can't get the game audio. Anybody else having trouble Yea I have MLBTV on the PS3 & still have nothing. & MLB AT BAT is just pitch by pitch right now. It shows highlights but zero audio.
  18. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Jul 8, 2012 -> 08:55 AM) Offense tends to be streaky for most teams. The good teams win during their offensive lulls due to good pitching. Ding ding ding ding ding
