It'll be Jerry Hairston Jr. who'll be leaving, not happy that's he being rotated all over the field, I'm sure the O's would want young pitching though.
-
Counsell will probably become a Yankee though, they'll replace Enrique Wilson eventually.
-
Same here, I leave an hour for lunch, and there's an extra 100 responses. I guess there are a lot of different thoughts on who's the better guy b/w Reed and Borch.
-
Well I could easily see him getting over $9 million probably $10 million, IF he continues to dominate and has a great playoff series. Some team in desperate need of pitching (e.g Texas, Baltimore) will make a big offer for him.
-
"He's still a Dick". I'll see what I can find.
-
Exactly, it'll be interesting to see what he does in Florida. Can't see them overpaying for him when they already have Beckett, Willis, Burnett and Penny in their rotation. If Mike Lowell goes though, (wouldn't he nice at 3rd for Crede) they'll have more money to use to resign Pavano, since they can move Miggy Cabrera back to 3rd, and sign an outfielder.
-
Robbie Alomar is not going to come here and play as a backup. He's pouting right now because Scott Hairston is starting ahead of him, which is really the right thing to do in Arizona. Junior Spivey or Craig Counsell are probably more likely options IF we go after an infielder, but right now our main concerns are probably an extra guy in the bullpen and a new starting catcher.
-
Reed will definitely be starting for the Mariners next season I guarantee you, since they will begin the youth movement in the northwest. Safeco Field will be a good park for him to line the ball in, so it'll be interesting to see how he does. What happens with Borch next season will all hinge on what happens with Maggs, if Maggs stays, then the only place I see Borch playing is in LF if we trade Carlos. Of course I still think we should not resign Maggs, get the 2 draft picks, sign a RF to COMPETE with Borch for the RF in spring training, and use the majority of the money to sign an ACE pitcher e.g Matt Morris or Jamie Moyer
-
It's quite simple, Jeremy Reed will be a GREAT everyday player, Joe Borchard COULD be better than that. He's got a much higher risk, but there's the chance of a greater return with Joe. KW, Wilder and Co. have taken a chance with Borchard, because they know we have ample depth in the minors with Sweeney and Anderson to come up if Borch doesn't work out.

Absolutely, hope u hav a blast, and the Sox put up a good performance for ya.
-
I thought they were dead.

Nice to see an Aussie winning in Robbie McEwin. Usually him, Brad McGee and Stuart O' Grady do pretty good in the sprinting stages early on, but once they hit the mountains that's when Armstrong and the Europeans come into their own.
-
Hope u hav a great B-Day Wite, always enjoys reading ur views on the White Sox, even though you are a Bills fan.

Submit your questions for the FutureSox roadtrip!

To Josh Fields, How have you found your 1st month in W.S, and are you on the fast track to B-Ham? To Thomas Brice, What are the main differences b/w low A ball, and high A ball? And how hard will it be to move up the system with other quality outfield prospects like Sweeney and Anderson all battling for spots? To Ryan Sweeney, Have you at all been discouraged with the numbers you have put up this season? And what are your thoughts on Brian Anderson? -
J.P Riccardi has 4 untouchables, Roy Halliday (I remember when Brando wanted him in the 1st month, funny stuff), Ted Lilly (made the all star team ahead of Buerhle!?), Vernon Wells, and Miguel Batista. Heard a rumor of a 3 way deal with Delgado going to Boston, Nomar going to L.A, and Cezar Isturis and prospects going to Toronto.
-
Wow, some people are really pulling out all the stops for the worst thread of 2004 for the SoxTalk Awards.
-
Hope you are all having a great night or early morning over there now.
-
I'm sure some team like Texas will offer him a good deal, there will be a demand for him, and he'll at least get a Miguel Batista type fo deal, probably a bit more.
-
That's what happens when PA doesn't drop by much, hope all is well with him and Miss Sox4Life. I think ever since you did those Ivan stories Heads, you've sort of become the new whipping boy.

For defense, I always use a quarter defence with only the DE's rushing the QB, and the other 9 dropping back into coverage. Gets me plenty of INT's.
-
The league is starting to figure out to wait for his fastball to hit, and to lay off his curve and change.
-
Imagine him with Baldelli and Crawford in the outfield, stolen bases galore. Victor Zambrano has been great for them too, very unlucky not to be an all - star.
-
Only Carlos can be proud the way he hit today, maybe Paulie too. The others were terrible. Crede CANNOT pop out at a 2-0 count, he's got to do better than that.
