:finger Sorry HSC, but it was these little guy's above me here. (See them?) They are at fault, you see.....they mixed me up and bullied me into a lot of mistakes. Look how the little buggers are following me around......even now. I got to get away from them somehow, I think they want to borrow money from me or something horrible like that.

Those posters have been mostly AWOL or MIA for some time now.

A "marine"...? WTH is that? Like a real "Marine". White uniform, bell bottoms..? If so... White pants after Labor Day is unacceptable. In combat all Marines are in proper BDU with clean weapons too. The picture I have of you, shows you as a naked little mouse with some cheese. You did send it to me, didn't you?

Cool! I'm the Supply Officer! How you doing Sat, I should post on the MLB boards more often. (In case you didn't know, I'm Konan12) Your going to get me all confused with these different handles. How it's going with the supplies and all, do we have any left? Sorry, I should probably change my MLB one to this as well, don't want any more mix-ups. We have plenty of stress relievers, we may need them! Got plenty of mixies and drinkies for HSC. Plenty of paper to pencil home to your families. Tell them about your excellent voyage! We have plenty of meat in the freezer for Keaddy to make some nice dinners for celebrations, with wine and stuff. And, if we win the division, we have lots of White Sox related party gear for a giant party in the mess hall! That sounds good, but you didn't mention how we are doing on toliet paper. That could cause really BIG problems if we run out of that item.

Yes you are, check the bottom on the Ship's crew list. I never leave a man bahind.

I got that point all cleared up now Heather, and the Promised Land is called the "Top of the Mountain". (Ncorgbl is misbehaving as usual.)

Yes, that's right, I goofed on the webpage and I got you and HSC all mixed up, because you look so much alike. Now it has Heathe Lee as the Entertainment Officer, and hotsoxchick1 as the Ship's Bartender. My bad, I've been over worked lately.

By all means, but you might have to wait in line for your turn.

The truth is for a half a season in 2000 the White Sox were on fire. This team hasn't done anything except that, since the strike hit them in 1994. Look at 1995, 1996, 1997,1998, 1999, 2001, 2002 seasons, and this 63-61 record we have now in 2003.......do you see a pattern there? The team stinks............. hello there, the team stinks!!!!!!!!!!! They haven't achieved anything, and Manuel ain't nothing but a mediocre manager at best. (That's being kind to him.) We only spend bottom feeder money on this team, what does anyone really expect the White Sox to do? What has this team done since 1917 to get excited about? Nothing!!!!!!!!!!! Welcome to the land of lost hopes, you're White Sox fans, so suffer for it, like you have been for so very long.

I think the fans who post in here are a reflection of the team they follow. The team is so up and down, unpredictable, and such a puzzle to figure out. It plays in wide swings, going 13-1 and then 5-15, etc. It beats some good teams and then loses to bad teams, and so on and so forth. It plays well at home and gains ground, then loses on the road and gives it back again. It hits in spurts, scoring a ton in a few games and can't buy a run the next few. You never know what you got with this team one day to the next. If you follow an inconsistant team like this one is, you will be a fan with that same kind of make up. To be a White Sox fan right now, is not to have a clue, and that is what you see on this board. I blame the team for this mess, they have created us in their own image.
-
Yes, I still have hope, we are only 2 games down. Things always look bad when you have recently been losing games. This will pass, and then a lot of fans will change their minds around here.

The fact that Colon is 10-11 with a 4.25 ERA, and Buehrle is 10-12 with a 4.22 ERA right now, is disappionting compared to what most White Sox fans had hoped for from these two players. In the end if we can still win the World Series this year, it won't matter at all. Some fans don't believe we can do that. Only when we have been eliminated will I be convinced of it. In the face of how things have gone in the last two series, I can understand why there is reason not to have much faith in this team. If any of you can understand why I still do, then you are a step ahead of the pack in my eyes.
-
It doesn't really matter if they are technically poles or quizzes. They are a chance to think of our current manager in terms of his predecessors. I believe that was the intent of the posts. Of course judging a current manage in terms of former managers does require a extensive knowledge of those former managers besides just their won loss pct. I personally do not believe Jerry Manuel is either in the top half dozen or bottom half dozen when compared to the team's former managers. He seems an average manager somewhere in the middle of the pack.

Why didn't you thank me for the correct spelling of Blackbune? Guess I'm just not important enough.
-
Here I thought you did that to see if I was awake .

Fielder Jones is 5th with 426 wins. Jerry Manuel now has 477 wins and is 4th. (JM started the year 5th with 414 wins then added 63 more wins so far this year.) (He still has a .512 won loss pct.) 1st Dykes 899 2nd Lopez 840 3rd LaRussa 522 PS: If you can't spell Nixey, just call him James or Jimmy Callahan. (Nixwy won't do.)
-
None of the Managers you listed has a better won loss pct. than Jerry Manuel (.512). Eddie Stanky was close (.511). All of these Managers did better: Clark Griffith (.581) Clarance Rowland (.578) Fielder Jones (.576) Marty Marrion (.565) Al Lopez (.562) Gene Lamont (.551) Paul Richards (.529) Bob Lemon (.525) Eddie Collins (.521) Kid Gleason (.519) Jeff Toborg (.515) Billy Sullivan is tied (.512). PS: (You meant Blackburne.)
