  1. QUOTE (flavum @ Mar 10, 2013 -> 04:32 PM) Yes, split squads today. They brought some guys from minor league camp today for both games. DeMichele is supposed to be on the bench for this game against the Reds. Thanks for the "heads up" !
  2. I wonder what I was watching on MLB.com? Seattle vs Sox ... I thought that game was live... are there two games underway? Sox are up 6-2 in the one I amewatching on Gameday...
  3. Is the current game on anywhere? I got the MLB ticket for my laptop, but the game does not appear to be televised... At least I know it isn't on my laptop, lol! I would like to see how Beckham's new swing is working out for him. He is 0-3 with two flyouts to center, which could indicate a good swing... even though they have not resulted in a recorded hit...
  4. Braves are beating up on Detroit today! 5-0 bottom of 5
  5. QUOTE (staxx @ Mar 2, 2013 -> 03:52 PM) I really like the way Thompson plays CF I'm not able to see the game ... How is Carlos Sanchez doing?
  6. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Feb 27, 2013 -> 08:26 AM) Kind of a random question, but how do you pronounce your last name? Whenever I read it I always think it is like "Grahb" (like "Cobb") Long A GrAAAbe if that helps!
  7. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Feb 27, 2013 -> 09:28 AM) Just wondering about those BP projections--is it possible those were major league projections and they were saying that if he were to play in the majors this year he'd hit .181 or are they actually projecting him to hit .181 in the minors this year? That is what I can't figure out. Neither expectation is flattering however! Thats not even hitting his body weight! One thing I do know is that they are wrong in their assessment! I bet they discount greatly because he was a 24th rounder and is sub 6' It can not be based on any numbers he has put up in any venue in which he has ever played, from WWBA (Perfect Game Showcases) any college season or Collegiate Summer Ball through his Rookie Season.
  8. I just registered with Baseball Prospectus and I am no fan either! Grabe hit .357 last year and according to them they expect him to hit .181 this year?! What's up with that? His worst year in the last 10 was his Freshman year in the Coastal Plains League where hit hit .302. I want a refund! LOL! I prefer http://www.thebaseballcube.com/players/pro...sp?P=eric-grabe ! At least there they know how to grade his bat! Seriously though, Grabe will make them revise their methodology, at least where evaluating him is concerned! Stretching, Throwing, Ground Balls, Bunting and Hitting is his routine right now at the Early Spring Training Mini Camp. Two players at each infield position, that is all there is on the field with him. Eric has been working out at 3rd.
  9. QUOTE (flavum @ Feb 25, 2013 -> 04:16 PM) My feeling about the Tigers...ignore them. The Sox don't play them until July. I want the Sox to get their 89th win before the season ends. If they get to 89, they'll either win a weak division or win the 2nd wildcard. If the 2nd wildcard is the best the Sox can do, I'll take it. Ugly inning 9-0 ... Top of 4
  10. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Feb 25, 2013 -> 04:11 PM) I don't see any reason for the Sox to field a team this year. But this is why you don't like ST! 8-0 with non starters in the game and it can get ugly fast. And when the primary goal is not to win, but to see how your prospects deal with adversity, it can get a fan down! lol. Giants are putting up some crooked numbers!
  11. Not Me! I have never been more excited about spring training in my entire life!!! I love the White Sox and enjoy hearing what the front office is up to, even when they bring in yet another 3rd baseman! I am stoked! Keep it going! I am looking forward to learning about team assignments, and getting out to some games. If money were no object I would be hanging on the the fences right now!
  12. When you grip the bat too tightly you slow down your hands, your ability to make late adjustments as well as your batspeed. A loose soft grip up until the bat is in the hitting zone is the feel a hitter should want. Relaxed.
  13. 3 on the day! How did Beckham do in his first AB? I saw the foul pop up caught by 3B.
  14. Eric is on the way to Arizona! Physical in the morning, then he gets to step out onto the field again! He is very excited to be there and to see what he is able to accomplish this season. He set the bar mighty high, but I believe we all will be happy if he ends the year at around .330. Hopefully he will produce more extra base hits and Home Runs. Here is a picture of Eric with a Redfish that he caught on a Mirrolure a week or so ago when he and I went out on our boat.
  15. Eric Grabe makes it to Birmingham hitting .330 with 15 bombs and a .800+ OPS.
  16. QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Jan 31, 2013 -> 09:30 PM) Good luck Marcus. I will visit you. Voted for you! Good Luck!
  17. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 11, 2012 -> 11:34 AM) http://www.thebaseballcube.com/players/pro...=Ruben-Sierra-1 Who comes up with this analysis? Are they really reputable? I really like the way they score Grabe, lol.
