I feel like McCann and Abreu have had a ton of difficulty lately hitting fastballs in the middle of the plate

Nothing except a professional umpire should know the difference between "close but a ball" and "fuck it, strike 3." God I hope so

Except Castillo is just as shitty as Collins was with even more opportunity + one is going to be with the organization/piece of a trade for a better asset next season, so again I ask, what the hell was the point?

Robert flew out in the 8th

Maybe I missed something but what was the object of demoting Collins for Castillo again?

Renteria: steal with Engel!

Engel will surely go back to being bad and relatively fast but he's been noticeably better at the plate. Forget the hits. He really does have a better eye

Eloy is the best

Snell appears to be a really likeable guy. Works really hard at his craft, Benetti and Stone already touched on him having a part time job when he was in the minors, and he essentially said pay me or trade me in the offseason. Tampa has themselves a good one (for 2 more years or so when they decide to trade him for a haul of seemingly average prospects that turn out to be good pros)

A generality? We were talking about Cease. You defended laughing at him and then said "have you ever heard of fun bad?" Because Cease was the topic you were clearly referring to him.

A decade is 10 years. The Sox rebuild began less than 3 years ago.

It doesn't directly answer your question but the Sox are 18th in the league in runners left in scoring position per game

What? I think you have this backwards. I am pissed about the failures. Subsequently I am pissed about other fans not being pissed and instead laughing. Follow?

You just said that Cease is "so bad that it's funny." You do know how stupid that sounds, right?

Cease is fun bad?

Sure, it's funny how bad Yolmer is or how pathetic Rondon is. Absolutely, but laughing at the important players? Again, that's foolish

I hate when people say stuff like this. What does the organization- Reinsdorf, KW and Hahn- in 2019 or 2009 or 1999 have to do with Cease's start today? He's having a rough start. It has nothing to do with anything of the past. They promoted him so he can get the kinks out before it truly matters. It's truly that simple.

So laugh at Dylan Cease then, a huge part of this organization's future. Look stupid. This makes no sense. Dispassionately and coolly? What in the world? I watch the game and feel pissed when the Sox lose and those are the words you use to describe me, but had I laughed at Cease for having a bad start, that makes me more of a fan and more passionate? Speaking of not making sense

Who cares? Anderson, Moncada, and Jimenez have all proved to be good or great players despite mediocre starts. If they had begun their careers on fire (minus Eloy since he had no bearing on the next part) then the Sox wouldn't have Madrigal and Vaughn most likely. Think of it that way

I don't laugh when my favorite teams, people, etc fail. I sit and watch and try to provide hope/sorrow/healing. In this case it's hope. I see Moncada having a great year. I see Anderson being a 25/25 guy annually. I see Robert terrorizing triple A. I see Eloy being a 35+ HR guy every year. If you dopes want to LOL at Dylan Cease for having a rough first 13 innings, be my guest and a moron.

7/21- Sox at Rays, 12:10, NBCSC
No, he averaged like 0.06 more walks per IP this year than last on the farm I like how people use LOL on this board when it's actually not a laughable topic. "Moncada another strikeout LOL" or "Anderson made another error LOL." Like, are you truly "laughing out loud" about this? Secondly, no one deemed Cease "a savior." He's a great prospect who's struggling in his first three MLB starts. It happens, but keep laughing, boob.

Promote Robert! Let him struggle here for a little so he's ready to be a force next summer! Don't promote Cease! He isn't quite ready! Can't have it both ways. Let Cease work on some things here.
