Not being a smartass but I don't remember this at all. Granted I was on a plane quite literally taking off as I got the alert that SD signed Machado, but I don't remember Hahn and KW flat out saying that they anticipate being cash strapped in 8 years. The only thing I can think of is that they're thinking optimistically that Cease, Kopech, Giolito, Moncada, Robert and Jimenez are going to be the real deal and won't want to pay not-one-of-their-own (Machado) all that money when he's that old.
