Agreed. And it’s so much worse now because we have the new, offensive minded coach.
-
The special team coverage on kick offs is atrocious
-
Yeah I’m not holding out much hope. We’re stuck with him though, atleast for a couple more seasons.
-
At this point, we should have expected more development from Caleb. Regardless of this being his first year in the Ben Johnson system. Look at the plays that are called, it’s as if Ben doesn’t trust his quarterback. Can you blame him?
-
Caleb has made some terrible decisions, and the OL has not had a great game. Too many missed assignments up the middle
-
Damn. Skattebo with a bad leg injury, he’s out for the season.
-
Huh. Now let’s see if there were a late surge of bets for the Bears before the announcement. Retroactively changing his status is a red flag. This just feeds into the gambling conspiracies And I get this type of gamesmanship has always been around. But this looks shady. There should be Ravens people answering for this oversight. Not even from the competitive advantage. The Bears were always going to prepare for Jackson, regardless of what the media was saying. But when valuable information like this is involved, you have to be very suspicious of the method involved and disclosing it to the public
-
I feel we’re going to be shouted down because the Bears are winning, but I’m still very concerned with his progress as well
-
That is 100% a forward pass. Look at where he throws the ball and where it is caught. But, let’s see what Vegas says about it.
-
Caleb needs a strong drive right here. Atleast 3. And please none of the drop back, spin around and move to the left nonsense (when the field is open ahead for a run)
-
Everything looks so difficult for Caleb. He doesn’t just drop back and make quick throws. We’re up 13, but it isn’t anywhere close to being over.

My theory is this Aikman story has been driven so hard by a Chicago media/fanbase still raw from the Cubs NLDS loss. They were already complaining about the Brewers showing the L flag two days prior to Bears game. So when they watched MNF and Aikman was giving his opinion of CW it was just too soon. I’m speaking very generally here, but Sox fans should be very familiar with the “national disrespect” angle. We’ve been dealing with it for decades, even during the WS run. I’m not even arguing the merits of it, because now….. there’s no argument for the White Sox deserving 30 seconds of airtime. But for a Sox fan and a Bears fan to be upset? Were used to it, boys. Even winning a SB won’t change anything. If Aikman hates CW, he’ll still hate him afterward.
-
Why even bother having Geno throw one more pass?
-
But why are you acting so negative?
-
Everyone is hesitant to act excited. As of now (14:30 in 4th) there has been a lot to be happy with. I would not have thought the defense would hold Dallas to 14 points this late in the game.
-
We’re fortunate to be holding Dallas to 14 at this point. Dak sat back lounging on that 2 point conversion, with no defender within 5 yards
-
wright is getting absolutely torched.

The way the first series went, I was ready to check out. Offense needs to keep at it.

There’s no way you could allow Poles another crack at drafting a quarterback, right? If Williams doesn’t work out, it’s a “generational” f up. Especially since we suspect the Bears did not take the time to research other QBs
-
We’re witnessing an entire fan base question whether CW is their future QB. The errant throws, the over throws, the non-throws, it was a horrendous display for a national audience. Additionally, there was no coaching dysfunction to blame. We can’t blame Flus or Waldron. We’re definitely not blaming Johnson. Now, how do you fundamentally correct the down field accuracy and visual, spatial recognition of your QB? You can’t. This is the black pill. If there’s a couple more games like these, the quarterback controversy will be in full swing.
-
Run out of bounds, give Caleb several seconds for Hail Mary….

There is so much information in there from very specific events, down to exact quotes, that it should be easy to prove/disprove. Now, do the Bears go the route of: “why do we need to validate the article with a response” or do they address it head on? Regardless of how the front office responds, if Williams goes out and looks like garbage everything in there will be “true”
-
There’s a lot of coping going on with Bears fans after this. I’ve seen a lot of responses like, “they aren’t one piece away from winning,” “how was the Dallas defense with Parsons” “this will end up like the Mack trade for the Bears and cripple their future.” Maybe. But the Packers have earned the right to believe this will more likely work in their favor, than not. For an organization that drafts and develops well, losing two lower round 1st round picks for a top DE is a risk worth taking. If there’s a silver lining to this, I believe Hutch and Parsons alone main embarrass the Bears into having to upgrade both DE and LT. I don’t know how next years draft will shake out with both positions. I’m willing to wager both positions will need to be addressed….again. And we cannot play that BPA nonsense. If Poles has to trade up for that top tier talent and surrender future 1st round picks, so be it
-
I can’t say I even trust Ben Johnson (regardless of his Detroit success) until he proves that he won’t be “Bears’ed.” No one deserves benefit of the doubt until they can succeed in a Bears uniform/or on the Bears sideline If there is any part of Williams that needs that little extra motivation to play well, he should have no problem finding it. The media and most fans outside of Chicago have written him off.

Another rough day for the offense at training camp. And yes, I know all the excuses (“it’s early, new system, new HC, new players working together), but hearing Williams overthrow a deep ball, then under throw another pass, just immediately brings me back to the White Sox mindset of no one earning any benefit of doubt until they prove it. Those are only two passes - but two passes which summarize his issues. I’ll just settle for ONE day of, “the offense looked great today at training camp.”
